While Israel was living in that region, Reuben went in and slept with his father’s concubine Bilhah, and Israel heard about it. Jacob had twelve sons:


Leah’s sons were Reuben (Jacob’s firstborn), Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, and Zebulun.


The sceptre will not depart from Judah or the staff from between his feet until he whose right it is comes  , and the obedience of the peoples belongs to him.

Judah’s military divisions  will camp on the east side towards the sunrise under their banner. The leader of the descendants of Judah is Nahshon  son of Amminadab.


The Lord told Moses, ‘Each day have one leader present his offering for the dedication of the altar.’


His offering was one silver dish weighing 1.5 kilograms  and one silver basin weighing 800 grams,  measured by the standard sanctuary shekel, both of them full of fine flour mixed with oil for a grain offering;

son of Jesse,  son of Obed, son of Boaz, son of Salmon, son of Nahshon,


Amminadab fathered Nahshon, Nahshon fathered Salmon,
