So Pilate, wanting to satisfy the crowd, released Barabbas to them, and after he had Jesus flogged, he turned Him over to be crucified.


Therefore, I will have him punished and [then] release him.”


So, Pilate then took Jesus and had Him flogged.


Finally, Pilate turned Jesus over to them to be crucified.


Jesus took upon Himself our sins [when] His body was placed upon the cross so that we, [through] dying to [i.e., giving up] the sinful life, would live for righteousness. You were healed [from your sins] by His being brutally treated.
