But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, I have given to God the money I could have helped you with;’


Show honor to your father and mother. And you must love your neighbor the same as you love yourself.”


Then Jesus replied to him, “Get away from me Satan, for it is written [Deut. 6:13], ‘You are supposed to worship the Lord your God, and serve only Him.’”


Do we then [intend to] destroy law [observance] because faith [in Christ is now required]? Certainly not! But [instead], we uphold [the validity of] law.


Children, you should obey your parents in the Lord [i.e., as part of your Christian responsibility], for this is the right thing to do.
