And shouting with a loud voice, he said, “What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, in God’s name, do not torture me.”


[Then] John [the apostle] said to Him, “Teacher, we saw someone driving out evil spirits by using your name, so we told him to stop doing it, because he was not following [You] with us.”


But, if I drive out evil spirits by [the power of] Beelzebub, by whom do your followers drive them out? So, they will be your judges.


Then [the apostle] John answered and said, “Master, we saw someone driving out evil spirits by [using] your name, so we told him not to, because he was not following [you] with us.”


[Now] the seven sons of a Jewish leading priest named Sceva were doing this.


For if someone comes [to you] proclaiming another “Jesus,” whom we [apostles] had not preached, or if you people receive a different “spirit” from the one you have [already] received, or a different “gospel” from the one you have [already] accepted, you put up with him quite well.
