Addiction and bad habits can be so destructive. Think about it, addiction is clinging to something—a behavior, a substance, an activity, even a person—that's actually harming you. So many of us struggle with these things, feeling trapped by a vice or an addiction. Sometimes, we feel like it's because of our past.
But here's the truth: in God, we're free. Christ set us free from all of that and forgave our sins. If you keep dwelling on the past, those chains can really hold you back. Sometimes, these struggles can even stem from negative spiritual influences, finding a foothold and coming to light when we unknowingly open a door, giving the enemy a legal right to step in.
You have the power to let go of what's binding you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of bondage you need to address. Receive God's forgiveness and His healing. He's there for you.
I pray that we all find freedom from anything that's hurting us and holding us back. Just like it says in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."
And in that day it shall be that his burden is removed from your shoulder, and his yoke from your neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing oil.
All is permitted me, but not all do profit. All is permitted me, but I shall not be under authority of any.
Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a renewed creature – the old matters have passed away, see, all matters have become renewed!
No trial has overtaken you except such as is common to man, and Elohim is trustworthy, who shall not allow you to be tried beyond what you are able, but with the trial shall also make the way of escape, enabling you to bear it.
יהוה is my rock and my stronghold and my deliverer; My Ěl is my rock, I take refuge in Him; My shield and the horn of my deliverance, my high tower.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into trial. The spirit indeed is eager, but the flesh is weak.
יהוה is my shepherd; I do not lack.He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.He turns back my being; He leads me in paths of righteousness For His Name’s sake.When I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil. For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Because all that is in the world – the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life – is not of the Father but is of the world.
Trust in יהוה with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;Know Him in all your ways, And He makes all your paths straight.
Tsadi The righteous cried out, and יהוה heard, And delivered them out of all their distresses.Qoph יהוה is near to the broken-hearted, And saves those whose spirit is crushed.
For You, יהוה, are good, and ready to forgive, And great in loving-commitment to all those who call upon You.
Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not look around, for I am your Elohim. I shall fortify you, I shall also help you, I shall also uphold you with the right hand of My righteousness.’
He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High, Who abides under the shadow of the Almighty,No evil befalls you, And a plague does not come near your tent;For He commands His messengers concerning you, To guard you in all your ways.They bear you up in their hands, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.You tread upon lion and cobra, Young lion and serpent you trample under foot.“Because he cleaves to Me in love, Therefore I deliver him; I set him on high, Because he has known My Name.When he calls on Me, I answer him; I am with him in distress; I deliver him and esteem him.”With long life I satisfy him, And show him My deliverance.He is saying of יהוה, “My refuge and my stronghold, My Elohim, in whom I trust!”
Bless יהוה, O my being, And do not forget all His dealings,Bless יהוה, you His messengers, Mighty in power, who do His Word, Listening to the voice of His Word.Bless יהוה, all you His hosts, You His servants, who do His pleasure.Bless יהוה, all His works, In all places of His rule. Bless יהוה, O my being!Who forgives all your crookednesses, Who heals all your diseases,Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-commitment and compassion,
And they cried out to יהוה in their distress, And He saved them out of their troubles.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, And He broke their chains in pieces.
Would a man take fire to his bosom, And his garments not be burned?Would a man walk on hot coals, And his feet not be scorched?
Wine is a scoffer, strong drink a brawler, And whoever is led astray by it is not wise.
Hear, my son, and be wise, And guide your heart in the way.And put a knife to your throat If you are a man given to appetite.Be not among heavy drinkers of wine Or with gluttonous eaters of meat;For the drunkard and the glutton become poor, And slumber puts rags on a man.
Who has woe? Who has sorrow? Who has contentions? Who has complaints? Who feels hurt without cause? Who has redness of eyes?Do not desire his delicacies, For that food is deceptive.Those staying long at the wine, Those going in to search out mixed wine.Do not look on the wine when it is red, When it gives its colour in the cup, As it flows smoothly;In the end it bites like a snake, And stings like an adder –
“The one steadfast of mind You guard in perfect peace, for he trusts in You.“Trust in יהוה forever, for in Yah, יהוה, is a rock of ages.
He gives power to the faint, and to those who have no might He increases strength.The voice of one crying in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of יהוה; make straight in the desert a highway for our Elohim.Even youths shall faint and be weary, and young men stumble and fall,but those who wait on יהוה renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.
“For I, יהוה your Elohim, am strengthening your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear, I shall help you.’
But now, thus said יהוה, your Creator, O Ya‛aqoḇ, and He who formed you, O Yisra’ĕl, “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you. I have called you by your name, you are Mine.“You are My witnesses,” declares יהוה, “And My servant whom I have chosen, so that you know and believe Me, and understand that I am He. Before Me there was no Ěl formed, nor after Me there is none.“I, I am יהוה, and besides Me there is no saviour.“I, I have declared and saved, and made known, and there was no foreign mighty one among you. And you are My witnesses,” declares יהוה, “that I am Ěl.“Even from the day I am He, and no one delivers out of My hand. I work, and who turns it back?”Thus said יהוה, your Redeemer, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕl, “For your sake I shall send to Baḇel, and bring them all down as fugitives, even the Kasdim, who rejoice in their ships.“I am יהוה, your Set-apart One, Creator of Yisra’ĕl, your Sovereign.”Thus said יהוה, who makes a way in the sea and a path through the mighty waters,who brings forth the chariot and horse, the army and the power (they lie down together, they do not rise, they have been extinguished, they have been quenched like a wick):“Do not remember the former events, nor consider the events of old.“See, I am doing what is new, let it now spring forth. Do you not know it? I am even making a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.“When you pass through the waters, I am with you; and through rivers, they do not overflow you. When you walk through fire, you are not scorched, and a flame does not burn you.
“I shall wipe out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to Me, for I shall redeem you.”
But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.
“Is this not the fast that I have chosen: to loosen the tight cords of wrongness, to undo the bands of the yoke, to exempt the oppressed, and to break off every yoke?
Heal me, O יהוה, so that I am healed. Save me, so that I am saved, for You are my praise.
For I know the plans I am planning for you,’ declares יהוה, ‘plans of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and an expectancy.
“And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh,and put My Spirit within you. And I shall cause you to walk in My laws and guard My right-rulings and shall do them.
Do not rejoice over me, O my enemy. When I have fallen I have risen, when I sit in darkness יהוה is a light to me.
‘And do not lead us into trial, but deliver us from the wicked one – because Yours is the reign and the power and the esteem, forever. Amĕn.’
But seek first the reign of Elohim, and His righteousness, and all these shall be added to you.
“Come to Me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I shall give you rest.“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your beingsand said to Him, “Are You the Coming One, or do we look for another?”“For My yoke is gentle and My burden is light.”
And He said to her, “Daughter, your belief has healed you. Go in peace, and be relieved from your affliction.”
“The Spirit of יהוה is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to bring the Good News to the poor. He has sent Me to heal the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to send away crushed ones with a release,
“For Elohim so loved the world that He gave His only brought-forth Son, so that everyone who believes in Him should not perish but possess everlasting life.“For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
Therefore יהושע spoke to them again, saying, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall by no means walk in darkness, but possess the light of life.”
“The thief does not come except to steal, and to slaughter, and to destroy. I have come that they might possess life, and that they might possess it beyond measure.
יהושע said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
“Peace I leave with you – My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who stays in Me, and I in him, he bears much fruit. Because without Me you are able to do naught!
“These words I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace. In the world you have pressure, but take courage, I have overcome the world.”
But Elohim proves His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.
knowing this, that our old man was impaled with Him, so that the body of sin might be rendered powerless, to serve sin no longer.
Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body, to obey it in its desires,neither present your members as instruments of unrighteousness to sin, but present yourselves to Elohim as being alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness to Elohim.
Do you not know that to whom you present yourselves servants for obedience, you are servants of the one whom you obey, whether of sin to death, or of obedience to righteousness?But thanks to Elohim that you were servants of sin, yet you obeyed from the heart that form of teaching to which you were entrusted.And having been set free from sin, you became servants of righteousness.
There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.And if Messiah is in you, the body is truly dead on account of sin, but the Spirit is life on account of righteousness.And if the Spirit of Him who raised יהושע from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Messiah from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you.So then, brothers, we are not debtors to the flesh, to live according to the flesh.For if you live according to the flesh, you are going to die; but if by the Spirit you put to death the deeds of the body, you shall live.For as many as are led by the Spirit of Elohim, these are sons of Elohim.For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of Elohim,and if children, also heirs – truly heirs of Elohim, and co-heirs with Messiah, if indeed we suffer with Him, in order that we also be exalted together.For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the esteem that is to be revealed in us.For the intense longing of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of Elohim.For the torah of the Spirit of the life in Messiah יהושע has set me free from the torah of sin and of death.
And if the Spirit of Him who raised יהושע from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Messiah from the dead shall also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit dwelling in you.
And we know that all matters work together for good to those who love Elohim, to those who are called according to his purpose.
I call upon you, therefore, brothers, through the compassion of Elohim, to present your bodies a living offering – set-apart, well-pleasing to Elohim – your reasonable worship.In brotherly love, tenderly loving towards one another, in appreciation, giving preference to each other;not idle in duty, ardent in spirit, serving the Master;rejoicing in the expectancy, enduring under pressure, continuing steadfastly in prayer;imparting to the needs of the set-apart ones, pursuing kindness towards strangers.Bless those who persecute you – bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not be proud in mind, but go along with the lowly. Do not be wise in your own estimation.Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is right in the sight of all men.If possible, on your part, be at peace with all men.Beloved, do not revenge yourselves, but give place to the wrath, for it has been written, “Vengeance is Mine, I shall repay,” says יהוה.And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.
The night is far advanced, the day has come near. So let us put off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.Let us walk becomingly, as in the day, not in wild parties and drunkenness, not in living together and indecencies, not in fighting and envy,but put on the Master יהושע Messiah, and make no provision for the lusts of the flesh.
Or do you not know that your body is the Dwelling Place of the Set-apart Spirit who is in you, which you have from Elohim, and you are not your own?Do you not know that the set-apart ones shall judge the world? And if the world is judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters?For you were bought with a price, therefore esteem Elohim in your body and in your spirit, which are of Elohim.
And what union has the Dwelling Place of Elohim with idols? For you are a Dwelling Place of the living Elohim, as Elohim has said, “I shall dwell in them and walk among them, and I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My people."Therefore, “Come out from among them and be separate, says יהוה, and do not touch what is unclean, and I shall receive you.“And I shall be a Father to you, and you shall be sons and daughters to Me, says יהוה the Almighty.”
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not fight according to the flesh.For the weapons we fight with are not fleshly but mighty in Elohim for overthrowing strongholds,overthrowing reasonings and every high matter that exalts itself against the knowledge of Elohim, taking captive every thought to make it obedient to the Messiah,
“I have been impaled with Messiah, and I no longer live, but Messiah lives in me. And that which I now live in the flesh I live by belief in the Son of Elohim, who loved me and gave Himself for me.
In the freedom with which Messiah has made us free, stand firm, then, and do not again be held with a yoke of slavery.
And the works of the flesh are well-known, which are these: adultery, whoring, uncleanness, indecency,See, I, Sha’ul, say to you that if you become circumcised, Messiah shall be of no use to you.idolatry, drug sorcery, hatred, quarrels, jealousies, fits of rage, selfish ambitions, dissensions, factions,envy, murders, drunkenness, wild parties, and the like – of which I forewarn you, even as I also said before, that those who practise such as these shall not inherit the reign of Elohim.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, trustworthiness,gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no Torah.
that you put off – with regard to your former behaviour – the old man, being corrupted according to the desires of the deceit,and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that you put on the renewed man which was created according to Elohim, in righteousness and set-apartness of the truth.
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Master. Walk as children of light –
And do not be drunk with wine, in which is loose behaviour, but be filled with the Spirit,
For the rest, my brothers, be strong in the Master and in the mightiness of His strength.Put on the complete armour of Elohim, for you to have power to stand against the schemes of the devil.
being persuaded of this, that He who has begun a good work in you shall perfect it until the day of יהושע Messiah.
for it is Elohim who is working in you both to desire and to work for his good pleasure.
Do not worry at all, but in every matter, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to Elohim.And the peace of Elohim, which surpasses all understanding, shall guard your hearts and minds through Messiah יהושע.
For the rest, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is righteous, whatever is clean, whatever is lovely, whatever is of good report, if there is any uprightness and if there is any praise – think on these.
who has delivered us from the authority of darkness and transferred us into the reign of the Son of His love,in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins,
Therefore put to death your members which are on the earth: whoring, uncleanness, passion, evil desire and greed of gain, which is idolatry.
For this is the desire of Elohim: your set-apartness! – that you should abstain from whoring,that each one of you should know how to possess his own vessel in set-apartness and respect,
So, then, we should not sleep, as others do, but we should watch and be sober.For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk are drunk at night.But we who are of the day should be sober, putting on the breastplate of belief and love, and as a helmet the expectation of deliverance.
Keep back from every form of wickedness.And the Elohim of peace Himself set you completely apart, and your entire spirit, and being, and body - be preserved blameless at the coming of our Master יהושע Messiah!
For Elohim has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and of love and of self-control.
And flee from the lusts of youth, but pursue righteousness, belief, love, peace with those calling on the Master out of a clean heart.
instructing us to renounce wickedness and worldly lusts, and to live sensibly, righteously, and reverently in the present age,
For in what He had suffered, Himself being tried, He is able to help those who are tried.
For we do not have a High Priest unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but One who was tried in all respects as we are, apart from sin.Therefore, let us come boldly to the throne of favour, in order to receive compassion, and find favour for timely help.
Let us hold fast the confession of our expectation without yielding, for He who promised is trustworthy.
We too, then, having so great a cloud of witnesses all around us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us,For they indeed disciplined us for a few days as seemed best to them, but He does it for our profit, so that we might share His apartness.And indeed, no discipline seems pleasant at the time, but grievous, but afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.So, strengthen the hands which hang down and the weak knees,and make straight paths for your feet, lest the lame be turned aside, but instead, to be healed.Pursue peace with all, and pursue apartness without which no one shall see the Master.See to it that no one falls short of the favour of Elohim, that no root of bitterness springing up causes trouble, by which many become defiled,lest there be anyone who whores, or profane one, like Ěsaw, who for a single meal sold his birthright.For you know that afterward, when he wished to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought it with tears.For you have not drawn near to a mountain touched and scorched with fire, and to blackness, and darkness and storm,and a sound of a trumpet, and a voice of words, so that those who heard it begged that no further Word should be spoken to them,looking to the Prince and Perfecter of our belief, יהושע, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the stake, having despised the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it shall be given to him.
Blessed is the man who does endure trial, for when he has been proved, he shall receive the crown of life which the Master has promised to those who love Him.
Let no one say when he is enticed, “I am enticed by Elohim,” for Elohim is not enticed by evil matters, and He entices no one.But each one is enticed when he is drawn away by his own desires and trapped.Then, when desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin. And sin, when it has been accomplished, brings forth death.
Therefore, having girded up the loins of your mind, being sober, set your expectation perfectly upon the favour that is to be brought to you at the revelation of יהושע Messiah,as obedient children, not conforming yourselves to the former lusts in your ignorance,instead, as the One who called you is set-apart, so you also should become set-apart in all behaviour,because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”
Be sober, watch, because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour.Resist him, firm in the belief, knowing that the same hardships are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.
If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
