VERSES ABOUT VICES AND ADDICTIONS

Addiction and bad habits can be so destructive. Think about it, addiction is clinging to something—a behavior, a substance, an activity, even a person—that's actually harming you. So many of us struggle with these things, feeling trapped by a vice or an addiction. Sometimes, we feel like it's because of our past.

But here's the truth: in God, we're free. Christ set us free from all of that and forgave our sins. If you keep dwelling on the past, those chains can really hold you back. Sometimes, these struggles can even stem from negative spiritual influences, finding a foothold and coming to light when we unknowingly open a door, giving the enemy a legal right to step in.

You have the power to let go of what's binding you. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal any areas of bondage you need to address. Receive God's forgiveness and His healing. He's there for you.

I pray that we all find freedom from anything that's hurting us and holding us back. Just like it says in John 8:36, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed."

And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.

Y'shuw`a answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin.

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Submit yourselves therefore to Elohim. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Therefore if any man be in Moshiach, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but Elohim is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

But put ye on the Lord Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

YY is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my Elohim, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the shofar of my salvation, and my high tower.

Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.

YY is my shepherd; I shall not want.He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.

For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.

O YY my Elohim, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.

I sought YY , and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.

Commit thy way unto YY ; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass.

Trust in YY with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.

The righteous cry, and YY heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.YY is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.

Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim; and renew a right spirit within me.

For thou, YY , art good, and ready to forgive; and plenteous in mercy unto all them that call upon thee.

Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy Elohim: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

He that dwelleth in the secret place of the El Elyon shall abide under the shadow of El Shaddai.I will say of YY , He is my refuge and my fortress: my Elohim; in him will I trust.

Bless YY , O my soul, and forget not all his benefits:Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;Who redeemeth thy life from destruction; who crowneth thee with lovingkindness and tender mercies;

Then they cried unto YY in their trouble, and he saved them out of their distresses.He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death, and brake their bands in sunder.

Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.

He healeth the broken in heart, and bindeth up their wounds.

Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.

Can a man take fire in his bosom, and his clothes not be burned?Can one go upon hot coals, and his feet not be burned?

Wine is a mocker, strong drink is raging: and whosoever is deceived thereby is not wise.

Hear thou, my son, and be wise, and guide thine heart in the way.Be not among winebibbers; among riotous eaters of flesh:For the drunkard and the glutton shall come to poverty: and drowsiness shall clothe a man with rags.

Who hath woe? who hath sorrow? who hath contentions? who hath babbling? who hath wounds without cause? who hath redness of eyes?They that tarry long at the wine; they that go to seek mixed wine.Look not thou upon the wine when it is red, when it giveth his colour in the cup, when it moveth itself aright.At the last it biteth like a serpent, and stingeth like an adder.

He that hath no rule over his own spirit is like a city that is broken down, and without walls.

Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.Trust ye in YY for ever: for in YY **YY ** is everlasting strength:

He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.Even the youths shall faint and be weary, and the young men shall utterly fall:But they that wait upon YY shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

For I YY thy Elohim will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.

But now thus saith YY that created thee, O Yaakov, and he that formed thee, O Yisrael, Fear not: for I have redeemed thee, I have called thee by thy name; thou art mine.When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

I have blotted out, as a thick cloud, thy transgressions, and, as a cloud, thy sins: return unto me; for I have redeemed thee.

But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.

Is not this the fast that I have chosen? to loose the bands of wickedness, to undo the heavy burdens, and to let the oppressed go free, and that ye break every yoke?

Heal me, O YY , and I shall be healed; save me, and I shall be saved: for thou art my praise.

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith YY , thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

Rejoice not against me, O mine enemy: when I fall, I shall arise; when I sit in darkness, YY shall be a light unto me.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the Kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

But seek ye first the Kingdom of Elohim, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.

And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in shalom, and be whole of thy plague.

For with Elohim nothing shall be impossible.

The Ruach of YY is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the goood news to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,

And he said, The things which are impossible with men are possible with Elohim.

For Elohim so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.For Elohim sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

Then spake Y'shuw`a again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.

And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Y'shuw`a saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

Shalom I leave with you, my shalom I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have shalom. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.

But Elohim commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Moshiach died for us.

Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.

Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.Neither yield ye your members as instruments of unrighteousness unto sin: but yield yourselves unto Elohim, as those that are alive from the dead, and your members as instruments of righteousness unto Elohim.

Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?But Elohim be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of teaching which was delivered you.Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Moshiach Y'shuw`a, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Ruach.For the Torah of the Ruach of life in Moshiach Y'shuw`a hath made me free from the Torah of sin and death.

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and shalom.

But if the Ruach of him that raised up Y'shuw`a from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Moshiach from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Ruach that dwelleth in you.

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love Elohim, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of Elohim, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto Elohim, which is your reasonable service.And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of Elohim.

The night is far spent, the day is at hand: let us therefore cast off the works of darkness, and let us put on the armour of light.Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.But put ye on the Lord Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of Ruach HaKodesh which is in you, which ye have of Elohim, and ye are not your own?For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify Elohim in your body, and in your spirit, which are of Elohim.

Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.

And what agreement hath the temple of Elohim with idols? for ye are the temple of the living Elohim; as Elohim hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their Elohim, and they shall be my people.Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith YY , and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith YY Shaddai.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through Elohim to the pulling down of strong holds;)Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of Elohim, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Moshiach;

I am crucified with Moshiach: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Moshiach liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of Elohim, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Moshiach hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

This I say then, Walk in the Ruach, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the Kingdom of Elohim.

But the fruit of the Ruach is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,Meekness, temperance: against such there is no mitzvah.

That ye put off concerning the former conversation the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;And that ye put on the new man, which after Elohim is created in righteousness and true holiness.

For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in YY : walk as children of light:

And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Ruach;

Finally, my brethren, be strong in YY , and in the power of his might.Put on the whole armour of Elohim, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach:

For it is Elohim which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto Elohim.And the shalom of Elohim, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Moshiach Y'shuw`a.

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.

I can do all things through Moshiach which strengtheneth me.

Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the Kingdom of his dear Son:In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:

But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth.Lie not one to another, seeing that ye have put off the old man with his deeds;And have put on the new man, which is renewed in knowledge after the image of him that created him:

For this is the will of Elohim, even your sanctification, that ye should abstain from fornication:That every one of you should know how to possess his vessel in sanctification and honour;

Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

Abstain from all appearance of evil.And the very Elohim of shalom sanctify you wholly; and I pray Elohim your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach.

But g-dliness with contentment is great gain.

For Elohim hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, love, shalom, with them that call on YY out of a pure heart.

Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and g-dly, in this present world;

For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succour them that are tempted.

For we have not an Kohen Gadol which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.Let us therefore come boldly unto the Throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,Looking unto Y'shuw`a the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the execution stake, despising the shame, and is set down at the Right Hand of the Throne of Elohim.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of Elohim, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which YY hath promised to them that love him.

Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of Elohim: for Elohim cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed.Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Y'shuw`a HaMoshiach;As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
