Vices have serious consequences, not just physically, but spiritually too. They can really tie you down. You might think it's impossible to break free from whatever's got a hold of you, but I want to share the best antidote there is: the blood of Jesus.
When you come to Him and ask for His help, He's faithful and just to strengthen you in your weaknesses. It's not about your own power, because you can't do it on your own. It's about Christ's transforming power working in you.
So don't give up. As long as you're still breathing, there's hope. Jesus can change your life and make you a new person if you just ask Him and seek Him. You can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.
As the Bible says in Isaiah 5:11 (NIV): "Woe to those who rise early in the morning to run after their drinks, who stay up late at night till they are inflamed with wine."
All things are permitted for me, but not all things are profitable. All things are permitted for me, but I will not be controlled by anything.
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, therefore, and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Stay awake and pray that you will not enter into temptation. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak!”
Be sober; be on the alert. Your adversary the devil walks around like a roaring lion, looking for someone to devour.
Do not be among drinkers of wine, among gluttonous eaters of their meat.For the drunkard and gluttonous, they will become poor, and with rags, drowsiness will clothe them.

Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are sexual immorality, impurity, licentiousness,Look! I, Paul, tell you that if you become circumcised, Christ will profit you nothing!idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, selfish ambition, dissension, factions,envy, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, things which I am telling you in advance, just as I said before, that the ones who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.
A breached city where there is no wall is like a man who has no self-control for his spirit.
It is not for the kings, O Lemuel; drinking wine is not for the kings, nor is strong drink for rulers.Or else he will drink and forget what has been decreed, and he will pervert the rights of all the afflicted.
I also explored the effects of indulging my flesh with wine. My mind guiding me with wisdom, I investigated folly so that I might discover what is good under heaven for humans to do during the days of their lives.
Ah! Those who rise early in the morning, they pursue strong drink. Those who linger in the evening, wine inflames them.
And these also stagger because of wine and stagger because of strong drink; priest and prophet stagger because of strong drink; they are confused because of wine. They stagger because of strong drink; they err in vision. They stagger in the rendering of a decision,for all the tables are full of disgusting vomit, with no place left.
He feeds on ashes; a deceived mind misleads him. And he cannot save himself, and he cannot say, “Is this not an illusion in my right hand?”
Woe to those who plan wickedness and evil deeds upon their beds! In the light of the morning they did it, because they have power in their hands.
“No one is able to serve two masters. For either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You are not able to serve God and money.
Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.and said to him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”For my yoke is easy to carry and my burden is light.”
and the cares of the world and the deceitfulness of wealth and the desires for other things come in and choke the word and it becomes unproductive.
And he said to them, “Watch out and guard yourselves from all greediness, because not even when someone has an abundance does his life consist of his possessions.”
No domestic slave is able to serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and will despise the other. You are not able to serve God and money.”
Do you not know that to whomever you present yourselves as slaves for obedience, you are slaves to whomever you obey, whether sin, leading to death, or obedience, leading to righteousness?
(I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh.) For just as you presented your members as slaves to immorality and lawlessness, leading to lawlessness, so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, leading to sanctification.
For I know that good does not live in me, that is, in my flesh. For God has not given us a spirit of cowardice, but of power and love and self-discipline.
But flee from youthful desires, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, in company with those who call upon the Lord from a pure heart.

Finally, become strong in the Lord and in the might of his strength.Put on the full armor of God, so that you may be able to stand against the stratagems of the devil,
convinced of this same thing, that the one who began a good work in you will finish it until the day of Christ Jesus,
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
And my God will fulfill your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
For we do not have a high priest who is not able to sympathize with our weaknesses, but who has been tempted in all things in the same way, without sin.Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
Let us hold fast to the confession of our hope without wavering, for the one who promised is faithful.
And the prayer of faith will save the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and if he has committed sins he will be forgiven.Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous person accomplishes much.
