Life is a journey, a time where we can learn to use our free will to overcome temptation and choose to follow Jesus. It's true, the Bible calls these times "perilous" (2 Timothy 3:1), and you can really feel the pull of the world around us. But there's hope. You have the power within you to overcome and resist temptation through the Holy Spirit.
If you humble yourself before God and pray consistently for strength, you won't be tempted beyond what you can handle. It's about drawing closer to Him, leaning on Him, and trusting that He'll give you the strength you need to make it through anything.
And when he was at the place, he said unto them, {\cf6 Pray that ye enter not into temptation.}
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:but each man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.
For in that he himself hath suffered being tempted, he is able to succor them that are tempted.\par
Watch and pray, that ye enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.}
There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.\par
Blessed is the man that endureth temptation; for when he hath been approved, he shall receive the crown of life, which {\i the Lord} promised to them that love him.
and said unto them, {\cf6 Why sleep ye? rise and pray, that ye enter not into temptation.}\par
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God; for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempteth no man:
And forgive us our sins; for we ourselves also forgive every one that is indebted to us. And bring us not into temptation.}\par
{\b Harden not your hearts, as in the provocation,\par\tab Like as in the day of the trial in the wilderness,}
Brethren, even if a man be overtaken in any trespass, ye who are spiritual, restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to thyself, lest thou also be tempted.
For we have not a high priest that cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but one that hath been in all points tempted like as {\i we are, yet} without sin.Let us therefore draw near with boldness unto the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace to help {\i us} in time of need.\par
But they that are minded to be rich fall into a temptation and a snare and many foolish and hurtful lusts, such as drown men in destruction and perdition.
But flee youthful lusts, and follow after righteousness, faith, love, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual {\i hosts} of wickedness in the heavenly {\i places}.
Ye are of God, {\i my} little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you than he that is in the world.
Be sober, be watchful: your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour,whom withstand stedfast in your faith, knowing that the same sufferings are accomplished in your brethren who are in {\i the} world.
Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency.
Jesus said unto him, {\cf6 Again it is written, {\b Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.}}
For this cause I also, when I could no longer forbear, sent that I might know your faith, lest by any means the tempter had tempted you, and our labor should be in vain.
For he will give his angels charge over thee,\par\tab To keep thee in all thy ways.They shall bear thee up in their hands,\par\tab Lest thou dash thy foot against a stone.
But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to {\i fulfil} the lusts {\i thereof}.\par
Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
(for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;
Then was Jesus led up of the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he afterward hungered.And the tempter came and said unto him, If thou art the Son of God, command that these stones become bread.But he answered and said, {\cf6 It is written, {\b Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.}}Then the devil taketh him into the holy city; and he set him on the pinnacle of the temple,and saith unto him, If thou art the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written,\par\tab {\b He shall give his angels charge concerning thee}:\par\tab and,\par\tab {\b On their hands they shall bear thee up,\par\tab Lest haply thou dash thy foot against a stone.}Jesus said unto him, {\cf6 Again it is written, {\b Thou shalt not make trial of the Lord thy God.}}Again, the devil taketh him unto an exceeding high mountain, and showeth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;and he said unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me.Then saith Jesus unto him, {\cf6 Get thee hence, Satan: for it is written, {\b Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.}}Then the devil leaveth him; and behold, angels came and ministered unto him.\par
Enter not into the path of the wicked,\par\tab And walk not in the way of evil men.Avoid it, pass not by it;\par\tab Turn from it, and pass on.
Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth.
Incline not my heart to any evil thing,\par\tab To practise deeds of wickedness\par\tab With men that work iniquity:\par\tab And let me not eat of their dainties.
For whatsoever is begotten of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that hath overcome the world, {\i even} our faith.And who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh(for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the casting down of strongholds),casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ;
Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey the lusts thereof:neither present your members unto sin {\i as} instruments of unrighteousness; but present yourselves unto God, as alive from the dead, and your members {\i as} instruments of righteousness unto God.
Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.
Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honorable, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be named among you, as becometh saints;
But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.Fight the good fight of the faith, lay hold on the life eternal, whereunto thou wast called, and didst confess the good confession in the sight of many witnesses.
Trust in Jehovah with all thy heart,\par\tab And lean not upon thine own understanding:In all thy ways acknowledge him,\par\tab And he will direct thy paths.
And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.\par
Keep back thy servant also from presumptuous {\i sins};\par\tab Let them not have dominion over me:\par\tab Then shall I be upright,\par\tab And I shall be clear from great transgression.
fear thou not, for I am with thee; be not dismayed, for I am thy God; I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
Jehovah is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer;\par\tab My God, my rock, in whom I will take refuge;\par\tab My shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower.
These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.}\par
instructing us, to the intent that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly and righteously and godly in this present world;
Many are the afflictions of the righteous;\par\tab But Jehovah delivereth him out of them all.
