Sunday is my day to go to church and worship the Lord. It's where I connect with my fellow believers, and it truly feels like a celebration. It just feels right, you know?
I find so much comfort in knowing God is pleased when we gather to worship Him. Psalm 133:11 says, "How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!" It's a beautiful reminder of the power of community.
We're called to gather regularly, and I try to never take that for granted. The Bible even tells us not to give up meeting together, like some people do. It's something I'm always working on – making church a priority. Life gets busy, but it's so worth it.
Psalm 84:102 really speaks to me: "Better is one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere; I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of the wicked." That really puts things in perspective. For me, there’s no better place to be.
If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honor.
For we are laborers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
Only fear the LORD, and serve him in truth with all your heart: for consider how great things he hath done for you.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
And he sat down, and called the twelve, and saith to them, If any man desireth to be first, the same shall be last of all, and servant of all.
If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet.
And thou, Solomon my son, know thou the God of thy father, and serve him with a perfect heart, and with a willing mind: for the LORD searcheth all hearts and understandeth all the imaginations of the thoughts: if thou shalt seek him, he will be found of thee; but if thou shalt forsake him, he will cast thee off for ever.
Then the people rejoiced, for that they offered willingly, because with perfect heart they offered willingly to the LORD: and David the king also rejoiced with great joy.
His lord said to him, Well done thou good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord.
Ye shall walk after the LORD your God, and fear him, and keep his commandments, and obey his voice, and ye shall serve him, and cleave to him.
For, brethren, ye have been called to liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbor as thyself.
And ye shall serve the LORD your God, and he will bless thy bread, and thy water; and I will take sickness away from the midst of thee.
Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying, Whom shall I send, and who will go for us? Then said I, Here am I; send me.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
But to do good, and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labor of love, which ye have shown towards his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
And whoever will be chief among you, let him be your servant:Even as the Son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
For I was hungry, and ye gave me food: I was thirsty, and ye gave me drink: I was a stranger, and ye took me in:Naked, and ye clothed me: I was sick, and ye visited me: I was in prison, and ye came to me.Then will the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee hungry, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee?Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came to thee? And the king will answer and say to them, Verily I say to you, Inasmuch as ye have done it to one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it to me.
And if it seemeth evil to you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
But take diligent heed to perform the commandment and the law, which Moses the servant of the LORD charged you, to love the LORD your God, and to walk in all his ways, and to keep his commandments, and to cleave to him, and to serve him with all your heart, and with all your soul.
For even the son of man came not to be ministered to, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.
That he would grant to us, that we being delivered out of the hand of our enemies, might serve him without fear,In holiness and righteousness before him, all the days of our life.
The LORD redeemeth the soul of his servants: and none of them that trust in him shall be desolate.
And Jesus answered and said to him, Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve.
Serving the Lord with all humility of mind, and with many tears and temptations, which befell me by the lying in wait of the Jews:
For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a door-keeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
With good will doing service, as to the Lord, and not to men:Knowing that whatever good thing any man doeth, the same will he receive from the Lord, whether he be bond or free.
Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;Knowing that from the Lord ye will receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
For they themselves show of us what manner of entrance we had to you, and how ye turned to God from idols, to serve the living and true God;
Rejoice evermore.Pray without ceasing. In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry;
Study to show thyself approved to God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.
How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, by which we may serve God acceptably, with reverence and godly fear.
But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any is a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a man beholding his natural face in a glass:For he beholdeth himself, and goeth away, and immediately forgetteth what manner of man he was.But he who looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth in it, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed.
As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.If any man speaketh let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man ministereth let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ; to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
And besides this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity. For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue, but in deed and in truth.
I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, and thy works; and the last to be more than the first:
I know thy works: behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it: for thou hast a little strength, and hast kept my word, and hast not denied my name.
Therefore they are before the throne of God, and serve him day and night in his temple: and he that sitteth on the throne will dwell among them.
