Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Wherefore, laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil-speakings,
Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's house, thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife, nor his man-servant, nor his maid-servant, nor his ox, nor his ass, nor any thing that is thy neighbor's.
Ye lust and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.
For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?
Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these, Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revelings, and such like: of which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they who do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.
Let us walk honestly, as in the day; not in rioting and drunkenness, not in chambering and wantonness, not in strife and envying.
Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.
Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted by God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man:But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away by his own lust, and enticed.Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.
For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not from the Father, but is from the world.
A Psalm of David. Fret not thyself because of evil doers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity.For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb.Trust in the LORD, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed.
But if ye have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth.This wisdom descendeth not from above, but is earthly, sensual, demoniacal.
Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be extinguished.
But godliness with contentment is great gain.For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.
Let your manner of life be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.
That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.And thus if one member suffers all the members suffer with it; or, if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
But as for me, my feet were almost gone; my steps had well nigh slipped.For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
And it came to pass as they came, when David had returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, that the women came out of all the cities of Israel, singing and dancing, to meet king Saul, with tabrets, with joy, and with instruments of music.And the women answered one another as they played, and said, Saul hath slain his thousands, and David his ten thousands.And Saul was very wroth, and the saying displeased him; and he said, They have ascribed to David ten thousands, and to me they have ascribed thousands; and what can he have more but the kingdom?And Saul eyed David from that day and forward.
For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
And he said to them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man's life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good and acceptable, and perfect will of God.
He that hasteth to be rich hath an evil eye, and considereth not that poverty shall come upon him.
Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatever state I am, with that to be content.I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.
Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and evil-speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:And be ye kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Whoever hateth his brother, is a murderer: and ye know that no murderer hath eternal life abiding in him.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, long-suffering;Forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man hath a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.
For who maketh thee to differ from another? and what hast thou that thou didst not receive? now if thou didst receive it, why dost thou glory, as if thou hadst not received it?
Again, I considered all labor, and every right work, that for this a man is envied by his neighbor. This is also vanity and vexation of spirit.
As in water face answereth to face, so the heart of man to man.Hell and destruction are never full; so the eyes of man are never satisfied.
In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
Do all things without murmurings and disputings:That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;
Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; lewdness, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry:
Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling savor.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; try me, and know my thoughts:And see if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.
And we know that all things work together for good, to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Wherefore, seeing we also are encompassed with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,
The merciful man doeth good to his own soul: but he that is cruel troubleth his own flesh.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: wonderful are thy works; and that my soul well knoweth.
Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Delight thyself also in the LORD; and he will give thee the desires of thy heart.Commit thy way to the LORD; trust also in him; and he will bring it to pass.
Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
Jesus said to him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.This is the first and great commandment.And the second is like it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.
But let every man prove his own work, and then shall he have rejoicing in himself alone, and not in another.For every man shall bear his own burden.

He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkness even until now.He that loveth his brother abideth in the light, and there is no occasion of stumbling in him.But he that hateth his brother is in darkness, and walketh in darkness, and knoweth not whither he goeth, because darkness hath blinded his eyes.
A Song of degrees of David. Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
The fear of the LORD tendeth to life: and he that hath it shall abide satisfied; he shall not be visited with evil.
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be like-minded one towards another according to Christ Jesus:That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
But to do good, and to communicate, forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casteth out fear: because fear hath torment. He that feareth, is not made perfect in love.
A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelech; who drove him away, and he departed. I will bless the LORD at all times: his praise shall continually be in my mouth.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Therefore be not anxious for the morrow: for the morrow will be solicitous for the things of itself. Sufficient to the day is its own evil.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honor preferring one another;
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another; love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Spirit.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace to the hearers.
And he said to me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
If there is therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,Fulfill ye my joy, that ye be like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let your speech be always with grace, seasoned with salt, that ye may know how ye ought to answer every man.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh, I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yes, I will help thee; yes, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
But God commendeth his love towards us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
Being confident of this very thing, that he who hath begun a good work in you, will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
And let us consider one another to excite to love and to good works:Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
And whatever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not to men;Knowing that from the Lord ye will receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ.
Now to him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor hight, nor depth, nor any other creature, will be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
I will instruct thee, and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with my eye.
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching for this purpose with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:
The Spirit itself testifieth with our spirit, that we are the children of God:And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if we suffer with him, that we may be glorified together.
The LORD is my strength, and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.
If ye then be raised with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.
For, brethren, ye have been called to liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
If any of you lacketh wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given to him.
My soul, wait thou only upon God; for my expectation is from him.He only is my rock and my salvation: he is my defense; I shall not be moved.
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints, according to the will of God.
But my God will supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, upon them that hope in his mercy;To deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; they shall walk, and not faint.
Show me thy ways, O LORD; teach me thy paths.Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
These things I have spoken to you, that in me ye may have peace. In the world ye will have tribulation, but be of good cheer: I have overcome the world.
For whatever things were written formerly, were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he will strengthen thy heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
The righteous cry, and the LORD heareth, and delivereth them out of all their troubles.The LORD is nigh to them that are of a broken heart; and saveth such as are of a contrite spirit.
For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying to thee, Fear not; I will help thee.
For the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
What, know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which ye have from God, and ye are not your own?For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and the door shall be opened to you:For every one that asketh, receiveth; and he that seeketh, findeth; and to him that knocketh, the door shall be opened.
For ye were sometime darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light;(For the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness, and righteousness, and truth;)
Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.
Rejoice evermore.Pray without ceasing.In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Let us not therefore judge one another any more: but judge this rather, that no man put a stumbling-block, or an occasion to fall in his brother's way.
Yet the LORD will command his loving-kindness in the day-time, and in the night his song shall be with me, and my prayer to the God of my life.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
