119 Bible verses about the Future
Think about it, only God truly knows what's ahead, right? He holds yesterday, today, and tomorrow in His hands. So much of life is a mystery to us, but thankfully, He does reveal some things about the future.
Honestly, nothing in this world feels truly secure, except for our faith in Christ. It can seem like everything is up in the air, especially when we read in Matthew 24:121 that "wickedness will increase and the love of many will grow cold." Even when we try to create a sense of security, we're incredibly fragile, completely dependent on God for everything, even each breath we take.
But when anxiety creeps in and tries to steal your peace, remember what God says in Jeremiah 29:11: "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Then he said, “I am going to inform you about what will happen in the latter time of wrath, for the vision pertains to the appointed time of the end.
For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the Lord. ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you a future filled with hope.
“As for you, O king, while you were in your bed your thoughts turned to future things. The revealer of mysteries has made known to you what will take place.
I am with you! I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I promised you!”
Indeed, there is hope for your posterity. Your children will return to their own territory. I, the Lord, affirm it!
who announces the end from the beginning and reveals beforehand what has not yet occurred, who says, ‘My plan will be realized, I will accomplish what I desire,’
The Lord is indeed going before you – he will be with you; he will not fail you or abandon you. Do not be afraid or discouraged!”
I repeat, be strong and brave! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic, for I, the Lord your God, am with you in all you do.”
And you did not stop there, O God! You have also spoken about the future of your servant’s family. You have revealed to me what men long to know, O Lord God.
Look, my earlier predictive oracles have come to pass; now I announce new events. Before they begin to occur, I reveal them to you.”
When your children ask you later on, “What are the stipulations, statutes, and ordinances that the Lord our God commanded you?”you must say to them, “We were Pharaoh’s slaves in Egypt, but the Lord brought us out of Egypt in a powerful way.
Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy aloud, and blessed are those who hear and obey the things written in it, because the time is near!
And if the Lord had not cut short those days, no one would be saved. But because of the elect, whom he chose, he has cut them short.
And if those days had not been cut short, no one would be saved. But for the sake of the elect those days will be cut short.
He watches over his holy ones, but the wicked are made speechless in the darkness, for it is not by one’s own strength that one prevails.
You were once abandoned and despised, with no one passing through, but I will make you a permanent source of pride and joy to coming generations.
David said to his son Solomon: “Be strong and brave! Do it! Don’t be afraid and don’t panic! For the Lord God, my God, is with you. He will not leave you or abandon you before all the work for the service of the Lord’s temple is finished.
Then when the Chief Shepherd appears, you will receive the crown of glory that never fades away.
You will hear of wars and rumors of wars. Make sure that you are not alarmed, for this must happen, but the end is still to come.
Likewise, know that wisdom is sweet to your soul; if you find it, you will have a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief; when it comes, the heavens will disappear with a horrific noise, and the celestial bodies will melt away in a blaze, and the earth and every deed done on it will be laid bare.
Now I have come to help you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision pertains to future days.”
I constantly trust in the Lord; because he is at my right hand, I will not be upended.So my heart rejoices and I am happy; My life is safe.

In the future the Lord’s Temple Mount will be the most important mountain of all; it will be more prominent than other hills. People will stream to it.
Surely your goodness and faithfulness will pursue me all my days, and I will live in the Lord’s house for the rest of my life.
Where would I be if I did not believe I would experience the Lord’s favor in the land of the living?Rely on the Lord! Be strong and confident! Rely on the Lord!
I will instruct and teach you about how you should live. I will advise you as I look you in the eye.
The Lord grants success to the one whose behavior he finds commendable.Even if he trips, he will not fall headlong, for the Lord holds his hand.
He says, “Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!”
Throw your burden upon the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the godly to be upended.
The Lord will protect you from all harm; he will protect your life.The Lord will protect you in all you do, now and forevermore.
The Lord avenges me. O Lord, your loyal love endures. Do not abandon those whom you have made!
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
The intentions of the heart belong to a man, but the answer of the tongue comes from the Lord.
There are many plans in a person’s mind, but it is the counsel of the Lord which will stand.
The steps of a person are ordained by the Lord – so how can anyone understand his own way?
Do not let your heart envy sinners, but rather be zealous in fearing the Lord all the time.For surely there is a future, and your hope will not be cut off.

You keep completely safe the people who maintain their faith, for they trust in you.Trust in the Lord from this time forward, even in Yah, the Lord, an enduring protector!
You will hear a word spoken behind you, saying, “This is the correct way, walk in it,” whether you are heading to the right or the left.
Fairness will produce peace and result in lasting security.My people will live in peaceful settlements, in secure homes, and in safe, quiet places.
Tell those who panic, “Be strong! Do not fear! Look, your God comes to avenge! With divine retribution he comes to deliver you.”
But those who wait for the Lord’s help find renewed strength; they rise up as if they had eagles’ wings, they run without growing weary, they walk without getting tired.
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you! Don’t be frightened, for I am your God! I strengthen you – yes, I help you – yes, I uphold you with my saving right hand!
For I am the Lord your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’
When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you.
Even when you are old, I will take care of you, even when you have gray hair, I will carry you. I made you and I will support you; I will carry you and rescue you.
for just as the sky is higher than the earth, so my deeds are superior to your deeds and my plans superior to your plans.
In the same way, the promise that I make does not return to me, having accomplished nothing. No, it is realized as I desire and is fulfilled as I intend.”
The Lord will continually lead you; he will feed you even in parched regions. He will give you renewed strength, and you will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring that continually produces water.
“Before I formed you in your mother’s womb I chose you. Before you were born I set you apart. I appointed you to be a prophet to the nations.”
My blessing is on those people who trust in me, who put their confidence in me.They will be like a tree planted near a stream whose roots spread out toward the water. It has nothing to fear when the heat comes. Its leaves are always green. It has no need to be concerned in a year of drought. It does not stop bearing fruit.
The Lord is good to those who trust in him, to the one who seeks him.It is good to wait patiently for deliverance from the Lord.
I will give you a new heart, and I will put a new spirit within you. I will remove the heart of stone from your body and give you a heart of flesh.I will put my Spirit within you; I will take the initiative and you will obey my statutes and carefully observe my regulations.
He changes times and seasons, deposing some kings and establishing others. He gives wisdom to the wise; he imparts knowledge to those with understanding;
But the wise will shine like the brightness of the heavenly expanse. And those bringing many to righteousness will be like the stars forever and ever.
So let us acknowledge him! Let us seek to acknowledge the Lord! He will come to our rescue as certainly as the appearance of the dawn, as certainly as the winter rain comes, as certainly as the spring rain that waters the land.”
(3:1) After all of this I will pour out my Spirit on all kinds of people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your elderly will have revelatory dreams; your young men will see prophetic visions.Even on male and female servants I will pour out my Spirit in those days.
I will bring back my people, Israel; they will rebuild the cities lying in rubble and settle down. They will plant vineyards and drink the wine they produce; they will grow orchards and eat the fruit they produce.I will plant them on their land and they will never again be uprooted from the land I have given them,” says the Lord your God.
For the message is a witness to what is decreed; it gives reliable testimony about how matters will turn out. Even if the message is not fulfilled right away, wait patiently; for it will certainly come to pass – it will not arrive late.
The Lord your God is in your midst; he is a warrior who can deliver. He takes great delight in you; he renews you by his love; he shouts for joy over you.”
Return to the stronghold, you prisoners, with hope; today I declare that I will return double what was taken from you.
“Bring the entire tithe into the storehouse so that there may be food in my temple. Test me in this matter,” says the Lord who rules over all, “to see if I will not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until there is no room for it all.
But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
Jesus looked at them and replied, “This is impossible for mere humans, but for God all things are possible.”
teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

How much more valuable are you than the birds!
The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come so that they may have life, and may have it abundantly.
“Do not let your hearts be distressed. You believe in God; believe also in me.Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you, I do not speak on my own initiative, but the Father residing in me performs his miraculous deeds.Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father is in me, but if you do not believe me, believe because of the miraculous deeds themselves.I tell you the solemn truth, the person who believes in me will perform the miraculous deeds that I am doing, and will perform greater deeds than these, because I am going to the Father.And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.“If you love me, you will obey my commandments.Then I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Advocate to be with you forever –the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot accept, because it does not see him or know him. But you know him, because he resides with you and will be in you.“I will not abandon you as orphans, I will come to you.In a little while the world will not see me any longer, but you will see me; because I live, you will live too.There are many dwelling places in my Father’s house. Otherwise, I would have told you, because I am going away to make ready a place for you.You will know at that time that I am in my Father and you are in me and I am in you.The person who has my commandments and obeys them is the one who loves me. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.You heard me say to you, ‘I am going away and I am coming back to you.’ If you loved me, you would be glad that I am going to the Father, because the Father is greater than I am.I have told you now before it happens, so that when it happens you may believe.And if I go and make ready a place for you, I will come again and take you to be with me, so that where I am you may be too.
“Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; I do not give it to you as the world does. Do not let your hearts be distressed or lacking in courage.
I have told you these things so that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble and suffering, but take courage – I have conquered the world.”
“Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, so that they can see my glory that you gave me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
He told them, “You are not permitted to know the times or periods that the Father has set by his own authority.But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the farthest parts of the earth.”
For I consider that our present sufferings cannot even be compared to the glory that will be revealed to us.
And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, who are called according to his purpose,
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.”
For now we see in a mirror indirectly, but then we will see face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, just as I have been fully known.
Therefore we do not despair, but even if our physical body is wearing away, our inner person is being renewed day by day.For our momentary, light suffering is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparisonbecause we are not looking at what can be seen but at what cannot be seen. For what can be seen is temporary, but what cannot be seen is eternal.
For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself to have attained this. Instead I am single-minded: Forgetting the things that are behind and reaching out for the things that are ahead,with this goal in mind, I strive toward the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Do not be anxious about anything. Instead, in every situation, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, tell your requests to God.And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.
And my God will supply your every need according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
God wanted to make known to them the glorious riches of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.
Now we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest who have no hope.For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, so also we believe that God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep as Christians.For we tell you this by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will surely not go ahead of those who have fallen asleep.For the Lord himself will come down from heaven with a shout of command, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.Then we who are alive, who are left, will be suddenly caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will always be with the Lord.Therefore encourage one another with these words.
But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen you and protect you from the evil one.
For “physical exercise has some value, but godliness is valuable in every way. It holds promise for the present life and for the life to come.”
as we wait for the happy fulfillment of our hope in the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ.
We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, sure and steadfast, which reaches inside behind the curtain,
And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
So do not throw away your confidence, because it has great reward.For you need endurance in order to do God’s will and so receive what is promised.
Your conduct must be free from the love of money and you must be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you and I will never abandon you.”So we can say with confidence, “The Lord is my helper, and I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?”
Come now, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we will go into this or that town and spend a year there and do business and make a profit.”You do not know about tomorrow. What is your life like? For you are a puff of smoke that appears for a short time and then vanishes.You ought to say instead, “If the Lord is willing, then we will live and do this or that.”
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! By his great mercy he gave us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,that is, into an inheritance imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. It is reserved in heaven for you,
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death will not exist any more – or mourning, or crying, or pain, for the former things have ceased to exist.”
