VERSES ABOUT PRAYER

Think about what you need and ask God for it. Like any good parent, He knows what His children need. Prayer should absolutely include asking for things, because when you ask God for something, you're acknowledging your own limitations. Whatever your situation, bring your needs to the Lord – whether it's provision, protection, healing, or guidance – and just ask for His help.

Psalm 139:4¹ says, "Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely." Prayer unlocks the treasures of God's Kingdom. It's a key the Creator has placed right in your hand, and He wants you to use it.

It would be so easy for Him to just give you everything you need; everything belongs to Him, and the whole universe is under His command. He could easily provide for you without you ever having to ask. But that's not how He designed it. God loves you, and His greatest desire is to have a close relationship with you. Prayer is the channel through which His provision flows into your life.

O Yahweh, in the morning you will hear my voice. In the morning I will set forth my case to you and I will watch.

I rise early in the dawn and cry for help; I hope in your word.

O God, you are my God; I will seek you diligently. My soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you as in a dry and weary land without water.

But as for me, I cry for help to you, O Yahweh, and in the morning my prayer comes before you.

My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning. Yes, more than watchmen for the morning.

I remember your name in the night, O Yahweh, and I heed your law.

I desire you with all my soul in the night; also I seek you with my spirit within me, for when your judgments are upon the earth, the inhabitants of the world learn righteousness.

I stretch out my hands to you; my soul longs for you like a dry land. Selah

Morning, noon and night I will lament and groan loudly, and he will hear my voice.

When I call, answer me, O God of my righteousness. In trouble deliver me. Be gracious to me and hear my prayer.

Satisfy us in the morning with your loyal love, that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.

In the middle of the night I rise to give you thanks, because of your righteous ordinances.

But whenever you pray, enter into your inner room and shut your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

As a deer longs for streams of water, so my soul longs for you, O God.As with a shattering in my bones my oppressors taunt me, while they say to me all day, “Where is your God?”Why are you in despair, O my soul? And why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God, because I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

With my whole heart I have sought you; do not let me stray from your commands.

The loyal love of Yahweh does not cease; his compassions do not come to an end.They are new in the morning, great is your faithfulness.

Therefore let us approach with confidence to the throne of grace, in order that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.

Cause me to walk in your truth and teach me, because you are the God of my salvation. I await you all day long.

I love those who love me, and those who seek me diligently shall find me.

I call with my whole heart; answer me, O Yahweh. I will keep your statutes.I call to you. Save me, and I will heed your testimonies.

You remove all the wicked of the earth like dross, therefore I love your testimonies.

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

He will call upon me and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue and honor him.

Be quiet before Yahweh and wait for him. Do not fret about one who succeeds in his way, about a man making plots.

My soul will be satisfied as with the best and richest food, and with joyful lips my mouth will praise.When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on you in the night watches.

The Lord Yahweh has given me the tongue of a pupil, to know how to help the weary with a word. He awakens morning by morning, awakens an ear for me to listen as do the pupils.

In peace I will lie down and sleep at once, for you alone, O Yahweh, make me dwell safely.

Out of the depths I call to you, O Yahweh.

And let us not grow weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap, if we do not give up.

I seek your favor with my whole heart; be gracious to me according to your word.

Praise Yah! Blessed is the man who fears Yahweh; he takes great delight in his commands.

Then my enemies will turn back when I call. This I know because God is for me.

How can a young man keep his way pure? By taking heed according to your word.

When my troubled thoughts were many within me, your consolations cheered my soul.

O Yahweh, your loyal love extends into the heavens, your faithfulness unto the clouds.

For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, and abundant in loyal love for all who call to you.

But as for me, I trust you, O Yahweh. I say, “You are my God.”My times are in your hand. Deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who pursue me.

Then you shall call, and Yahweh himself will answer. You shall cry for help, and he will say, ‘Here I am!’ If you remove from among you the yoke, the finger-pointing and evil speech,

May my heart be blameless in your statutes, so that I may not be ashamed.

“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and it will be opened for you.

Rather for you I wait, O Yahweh. You will answer, O Lord my God.

Trouble and anguish have found me; your commands delight me.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination of Yahweh, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.

rejoicing in hope, enduring in affliction, being devoted to prayer,

Yahweh is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth.

This is the day Yahweh has worked; let us rejoice and be glad in him.

My eyes long for your word, saying, “When will you comfort me?”

But as for me, the approach to God is for my good. I have set the Lord Yahweh as my refuge, in order to tell all your works.

You must not fear, for I am with you; you must not be afraid, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, indeed I will help you, indeed I will take hold of you with the right hand of my salvation.

On your behalf my heart says, “Seek my face.” Your face, O Yahweh, I do seek.

I have taken as my own your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart.

I will bless Yahweh at all times; his praise shall be in my mouth continually.

casting all your cares on him, because he cares for you.

And those who know your name will trust in you, for you do not forsake those who seek you, O Yahweh.

Let your mercies come to me, that I may live, for your law is my delight.

Remove from me the deceptive way, and graciously give me your law.

O Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me.even there your hand would lead me, and your right hand would hold me fast.And if I should say, “Surely darkness will cover me, and the light around me will be as night,”even the darkness is not too dark for you, and the night shines as the day— the darkness and the light are alike for you.Indeed you created my inward parts; you wove me in my mother’s womb.I praise you, because I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Wonderful are your works, and my soul knows it well.My frame was not hidden from you, when I was created secretly, and intricately woven in the depths of the earth.Your eyes saw my embryo, and in your book they all were written— days fashioned for me when there was not one of them.And to me, how precious are your thoughts, O God; how vast is their sum.If I should count them, they would outnumber the sand. I awaken, and I am still with you.If only you would kill the wicked, O God— so get away from me, you bloodthirsty men—You know my sitting down and my rising up. You understand my thought from afar.

Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are right, whatever things are pure, whatever things are pleasing, whatever things are commendable, if there is any excellence of character and if anything praiseworthy, think about these things.

You barricade me behind and in front, and set your hand upon me.

I await Yahweh; my soul awaits, and I wait for his word.My soul waits for the Lord more than watchmen for the morning. Yes, more than watchmen for the morning.

When I fear, I trust you.God, whose word I praise, God I trust; I do not fear. What can mere flesh do to me?

Let my cry come before you, O Yahweh; give me understanding according to your word.

Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe your commands.

Your word is very pure, and your servant loves it.

The fear of Yahweh is the beginning of wisdom; all who do them have a good understanding. His praise endures forever.

You will protect a firm inclination in peace, in peace because he trusts in you.Trust in Yahweh forever, for in Yah, Yahweh you have an everlasting rock.

When I remember you on my bed, I meditate on you in the night watches.Because you have been my help, therefore in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.

For you bless the righteous. O Yahweh, like a shield you surround him with good favor.

O God, hear my prayer; heed the words of my mouth.

In the day of my trouble I call to you, because you answer me.

By day Yahweh commands his loyal love, and in the night his song is with me, a prayer to the God of my life.

My soul longs and even fails for the courtyards of Yahweh. My heart and flesh sing for joy to the living God.

I hate the double-minded, but I love your law.

Commit to Yahweh your way; Trust also on him and he will act.

Blessed are the ones who hunger and thirst for righteousness, because they will be satisfied.

Listen to the sound of my pleading, my king and my God, for to you I pray.

The law of your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver coins.

Turn away my disgrace that I dread, for your ordinances are good.

But those who wait for Yahweh shall renew their strength. They shall go up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not grow weary; they shall walk and not be faint.

Yahweh is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and great in loyal love.

I await Yahweh; my soul awaits, and I wait for his word.

Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts.And see if there is in me the worship of false gods, and lead me in the way everlasting.

I waited patiently for Yahweh, And he inclined to me and heard my cry for help.

And likewise also, the Spirit helps us in our weakness, for we do not know how to pray as one ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with unexpressed groanings.

Blessed are those who keep his testimonies; they seek him with a whole heart.

Let my plea come before you; Deliver me according to your word.

Yahweh is far from the wicked, but the prayers of the righteous he will hear.

Cause me to hear your loyal love in the morning, for I trust you. Cause me to know the way that I should go, for I lift up my soul to you.

Be disturbed but do not sin. Commune in your heart on your bed and be silent. Selah

Yet you are holy, enthroned on the praises of Israel.

For the mountains may depart, and the hills may sway, but my faithfulness shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not sway,” says Yahweh, who has compassion on you,

Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and your law is truth.

Out of my distress I called to Yah. Yah answered me, setting me in a broad place.

I give thanks to my God upon my every remembrance of you,

Blessed are you, O Yahweh. Teach me your statutes.

Come to me, all of you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke on you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.and said to him, “Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”For my yoke is easy to carry and my burden is light.”

How precious is your loyal love, O God, and the children of humankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.They are refreshed with the fullness of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light.

One who lives in the secret place of the Most High will lodge in the shadow of Shaddai.

Yahweh is my shepherd; I will not lack for anything.

For there is a moment in his anger; there is a lifetime in his favor. Weeping lodges for the evening, but in the morning comes rejoicing.

Look! God is my salvation; I will trust, and I will not be afraid, for my strength and might is Yah, Yahweh; and he has become salvation for me.”

In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will straighten your paths.

Let my soul live that it may praise you, and let your ordinances help me.

Blessed be God, who has not turned aside my prayer, or his loyal love from me.

I heed your precepts and testimonies, because all my ways are before you.

Therefore Yahweh waits to be gracious to you, and therefore he will rise up to show you mercy, for Yahweh is a God of justice; blessed are all those who wait for him.

Wait for Yahweh. Be strong and let your heart show strength, and wait for Yahweh.

But you, O Yahweh, do not remain distant. O my help, hasten to help me.

Blessed be the Lord. Daily he loads us with benefits, the God of our salvation. Selah

Blessed is the one whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is on Yahweh as his God,

He raises the helpless from the dust; he lifts the needy from the ash heap,

And do not snatch the word of truth utterly from my mouth, for I hope in your ordinances.

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence for the entrance into the sanctuary by the blood of Jesus,For otherwise, would they not have ceased to be offered, because the ones who worship, having been purified once and for all, would no longer have any consciousness of sins?by the new and living way which he inaugurated for us through the curtain, that is, his flesh,and since we have a great priest over the house of God,let us approach with a true heart in the full assurance of faith, our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience and our bodies washed with pure water.

Give thanks to Yahweh, for he is good, for his loyal love endures forever.

I lift up my eyes to the mountains; whence will my help come?My help is from Yahweh, maker of heaven and earth.

Surely we wait for you in the path of your judgments, Yahweh, for your name and renown are the desire of the soul.

The young lions are in want and suffer hunger, but those who seek Yahweh will not lack for any good thing.

You are the light of the world. A city located on top of a hill cannot be hidden,

Because he loves me, therefore I will deliver him; I will protect him because he knows my name.

What then shall we say about these things? If God is for us, who can be against us?

My soul thirsts for God, for the living God. When shall I come and appear before God?

Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your presence, O Yahweh, my rock and my redeemer.

But as for me, my prayer is to you, O Yahweh, for a favorable time, O God, according to the abundance of your loyal love. Answer me with the faithfulness of your salvation.

Yet your footprints were not discerned.In the day I have trouble, I seek the Lord. At night my hand stretches out continually; my soul refuses to be comforted.

O Yahweh, your loyal love extends into the heavens, your faithfulness unto the clouds.Your righteousness is like the mighty mountains, your judgments like the great deep. You save man and beast, O Yahweh.

And my God will fulfill your every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.

Commit your work to Yahweh, and your plans will be established.

Give thanks to the God of gods, for his loyal love endures forever.

For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord is Lord of all, who is rich to all who call upon him.

And this will happen: before they call, I myself will answer; while still they are speaking, I myself will hear.

Anxiety in the heart of a man will weigh him down, but a good word will cheer him.

But let all who take shelter in you rejoice. Let them ever sing for joy, because you spread protection over them; And let those who love your name exult in you.
