55 Bible Verses about Musical Instruments

55 Bible Verses about Musical Instruments

I'll praise you with the harp, my God; I'll sing your truth with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel. Humans have always expressed their emotions through song and instrumental music. And through scripture, we can see that God enjoys music too.

Psalm 50:231 says, "Whoever offers praise glorifies me; and to one who orders his way rightly, I will show the salvation of God." It's through God that we receive inspiration, talent, and the intelligence to learn a craft. We aren't born with these gifts; Jesus places a unique gift within each of us to develop here on Earth.

Knowing how good God has been to you, what better way to offer back to Him all that you know? Praise and worship isn't just about singing a song. It's an expression of responding to God's love. You can do it with your whole being. Some people dance, jump, shout, and prostrate themselves. And there are those who bring harmony to it all.

That's why it's so important to dedicate your life to God so that every time you play an instrument, that sound is pleasing in the presence of the Eternal Father. Guard your heart. Let your true motivation be to exalt the Almighty and not to be seen by others. Give glory to God in everything you do.

Be a vessel of honor in His hands, one that He delights in hearing. And remember, above all, that all the knowledge and abilities you have are because of Jesus. So stay true to yourself, genuine, and ready to do good works.

Ecclesiastes 3:1-4

For everything there is an appointed time, and an appropriate time for every activity on earth:I have observed the burden that God has given to people to keep them occupied.God has made everything fit beautifully in its appropriate time, but he has also placed ignorance in the human heart so that people cannot discover what God has ordained, from the beginning to the end of their lives.I have concluded that there is nothing better for people than to be happy and to enjoy themselves as long as they live, and also that everyone should eat and drink, and find enjoyment in all his toil, for these things are a gift from God.I also know that whatever God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it, and nothing taken away from it. God has made it this way, so that men will fear him.Whatever exists now has already been, and whatever will be has already been; for God will seek to do again what has occurred in the past.I saw something else on earth: In the place of justice, there was wickedness, and in the place of fairness, there was wickedness.I thought to myself, “God will judge both the righteous and the wicked; for there is an appropriate time for every activity, and there is a time of judgment for every deed.I also thought to myself, “It is for the sake of people, so God can clearly show them that they are like animals. For the fate of humans and the fate of animals are the same: As one dies, so dies the other; both have the same breath. There is no advantage for humans over animals, for both are fleeting.A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to uproot what was planted; Both go to the same place, both come from the dust, and to dust both return.Who really knows if the human spirit ascends upward, and the animal’s spirit descends into the earth? So I perceived there is nothing better than for people to enjoy their work, because that is their reward; for who can show them what the future holds?A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

Prayer

I will bless my God at all times! With my whole being, I will adore and glorify Him. May everything that has breath praise the name of the Lord! He is holy and exalted, high and awesome, worthy of all glory and honor. I offer all that I am in worship; I surrender my talents and abilities to Your service. To You alone belongs the honor forever, for great is He who sits on the throne, holy, holy, holy. Only You are worthy of praise. I will sing to You with harps and trumpets, celebrating Your works each day. Lord, You place new songs in my mouth. Your church praises You, lifting Your name to the heavens, proclaiming Your righteousness. They sing psalms with instruments, with the psaltery and the sound of the harp. Nations praise You and sing psalms to Your name. For Yours is the glory and the honor. In Jesus' name, Amen.
