Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me; for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.and said to him, “Are you he who is to come, or shall we look for another?”For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
Have no anxiety about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, will keep your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep; for thou alone, O Lord, makest me dwell in safety.
The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want;he makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Thou dost keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee, because he trusts in thee.
“Be still, and know that I am God. I am exalted among the nations, I am exalted in the earth!”
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High, who abides in the shadow of the Almighty,no evil shall befall you, no scourge come near your tent. For he will give his angels charge of you to guard you in all your ways.On their hands they will bear you up, lest you dash your foot against a stone. You will tread on the lion and the adder, the young lion and the serpent you will trample under foot.Because he cleaves to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name. When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him, and show him my salvation.will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust.”
Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you shall eat or what you shall drink, nor about your body, what you shall put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add one cubit to his span of life?
I have said this to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.Put no confidence in extortion, set no vain hopes on robbery; if riches increase, set not your heart on them.Once God has spoken; twice have I heard this: that power belongs to God;and that to thee, O Lord, belongs steadfast love. For thou dost requite a man according to his work.He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly moved.
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength, they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in all ways. The Lord be with you all.
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust for ever.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Be still before the Lord, and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over him who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my victorious right hand.
For thus said the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, “In returning and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength.” And you would not,
I lie down and sleep; I wake again, for the Lord sustains me.I am not afraid of ten thousands of people who have set themselves against me round about.
when I think of thee upon my bed, and meditate on thee in the watches of the night;for thou hast been my help, and in the shadow of thy wings I sing for joy.
I keep the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Therefore my heart is glad, and my soul rejoices; my body also dwells secure.
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have; for he has said, “I will never fail you nor forsake you.”
Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
but he who listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of evil.”
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, do; and the God of peace will be with you.
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From whence does my help come?My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
When you pass through the waters I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides for ever.
Our soul waits for the Lord; he is our help and shield.Yea, our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me;and I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish, and no one shall snatch them out of my hand.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in the one body. And be thankful.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a child quieted at its mother's breast; like a child that is quieted is my soul.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government will be upon his shoulder, and his name will be called “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”
We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.
The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
Blessed is the man whom thou dost chasten, O Lord, and whom thou dost teach out of thy lawto give him respite from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Let me hear what God the Lord will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints, to those who turn to him in their hearts.
For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed, says the Lord, who has compassion on you.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own insight. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and he who fears is not perfected in love.
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my help and my God.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways, heed my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry.I have not hid thy saving help within my heart, I have spoken of thy faithfulness and thy salvation; I have not concealed thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness from the great congregation.Do not thou, O Lord, withhold thy mercy from me, let thy steadfast love and thy faithfulness ever preserve me!For evils have encompassed me without number; my iniquities have overtaken me, till I cannot see; they are more than the hairs of my head; my heart fails me.Be pleased, O Lord, to deliver me! O Lord, make haste to help me!Let them be put to shame and confusion altogether who seek to snatch away my life; let them be turned back and brought to dishonor who desire my hurt!Let them be appalled because of their shame who say to me, “Aha, Aha!”But may all who seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; may those who love thy salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!”As for me, I am poor and needy; but the Lord takes thought for me. Thou art my help and my deliverer; do not tarry, O my God!He drew me up from the desolate pit, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
Say to those who are of a fearful heart, “Be strong, fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you.”
It is the Lord who goes before you; he will be with you, he will not fail you or forsake you; do not fear or be dismayed.”
As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
he will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler. You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
May the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body be kept sound and blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.
For I am sure that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I do not pray that thou shouldst take them out of the world, but that thou shouldst keep them from the evil one.
In all their affliction he was afflicted, and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the spirit of sonship. When we cry, “Abba! Father!”
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world; he who follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”
As the mountains are round about Jerusalem, so the Lord is round about his people, from this time forth and for evermore.
For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility,
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary, his understanding is unsearchable. He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
And I am sure that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Know that the Lord is God! It is he that made us, and we are his; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities those who fear him.For he knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust.
And this is the confidence which we have in him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have obtained the requests made of him.
O God, thou art my God, I seek thee, my soul thirsts for thee; my flesh faints for thee, as in a dry and weary land where no water is.they shall be given over to the power of the sword, they shall be prey for jackals. But the king shall rejoice in God; all who swear by him shall glory; for the mouths of liars will be stopped. So I have looked upon thee in the sanctuary, beholding thy power and glory.Because thy steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise thee.So I will bless thee as long as I live; I will lift up my hands and call on thy name.
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, to the close of the age.”
The steps of a man are from the Lord, and he establishes him in whose way he delights;though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the Lord is the stay of his hand.
“I, I am he that comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,
Out of my distress I called on the Lord; the Lord answered me and set me free. With the Lord on my side I do not fear. What can man do to me?
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
For thou hast been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the blast of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,
for God did not give us a spirit of timidity but a spirit of power and love and self-control.
For the kingdom of God is not food and drink but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit;
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion for ever.
I have swept away your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner shrine behind the curtain,
How precious is thy steadfast love, O God! The children of men take refuge in the shadow of thy wings. They feast on the abundance of thy house, and thou givest them drink from the river of thy delights.
And how can men preach unless they are sent? As it is written, “How beautiful are the feet of those who preach good news!”
through the tender mercy of our God, when the day shall dawn upon us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.”
Be watchful, stand firm in your faith, be courageous, be strong.Let all that you do be done in love.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
“For you shall go out in joy, and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Now to him who by the power at work within us is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus to all generations, for ever and ever. Amen.
But now thus says the Lord, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: “Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime. Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
Thou who hast made me see many sore troubles wilt revive me again; from the depths of the earth thou wilt bring me up again.Thou wilt increase my honor, and comfort me again.
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
He will not let your foot be moved, he who keeps you will not slumber.Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.
This God—his way is perfect; the promise of the Lord proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
to aspire to live quietly, to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we charged you;
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
the Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord lifts up those who are bowed down; the Lord loves the righteous.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, whom God made our wisdom, our righteousness and sanctification and redemption;therefore, as it is written, “Let him who boasts, boast of the Lord.”I give thanks to God always for you because of the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus,
But Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”
For thus says the Lord: “Behold, I will extend prosperity to her like a river, and the wealth of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall suck, you shall be carried upon her hip, and dandled upon her knees.
But may all who seek thee rejoice and be glad in thee; may those who love thy salvation say continually, “Great is the Lord!”
There is great gain in godliness with contentment;for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world;
But let all who take refuge in thee rejoice, let them ever sing for joy; and do thou defend them, that those who love thy name may exult in thee.
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, upon the throne of David, and over his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and for evermore. The zeal of the Lord of hosts will do this.
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that by steadfastness and by the encouragement of the scriptures we might have hope.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And not one of them will fall to the ground without your Father's will.Philip and Bartholomew; Thomas and Matthew the tax collector; James the son of Alphaeus, and Thaddaeus; But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
And God is able to provide you with every blessing in abundance, so that you may always have enough of everything and may provide in abundance for every good work.
And the Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your desire with good things, and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield; he bestows favor and honor. No good thing does the Lord withhold from those who walk uprightly.
