Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light."
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. Not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your hearts be troubled, neither let them be afraid.
do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.[1]He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness[2] for his name's sake.
"Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!"
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.I will say[1] to the LORD, "My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust."
Cast your burden on the LORD, and he will sustain you; he will never permit the righteous to be moved.
So then, there remains a Sabbath rest for the people of God,for whoever has entered God's rest has also rested from his works as God did from his.
"Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?[7]
I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world."
For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation.He only is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken.
To set the mind on the flesh is death, but to set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace.
but they who wait for the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.
Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times in every way. The Lord be with you all.
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust[1] forever.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
Be still before the LORD and wait patiently for him; fret not yourself over the one who prospers in his way, over the man who carries out evil devices!
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the stronghold[1] of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
For thus said the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel, "In returning[3] and rest you shall be saved; in quietness and in trust shall be your strength." But you were unwilling,
I lay down and slept; I woke again, for the LORD sustained me.I will not be afraid of many thousands of people who have set themselves against me all around.
when I remember you upon my bed, and meditate on you in the watches of the night;for you have been my help, and in the shadow of your wings I will sing for joy.
I have set the LORD always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.Therefore my heart is glad, and my whole being[5] rejoices; my flesh also dwells secure.
Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, "I will never leave you nor forsake you."
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[1] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
"Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the LORD GOD[2] is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation."
but whoever listens to me will dwell secure and will be at ease, without dread of disaster."
What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me -- practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you.
I lift up my eyes to the hills. From where does my help come?My help comes from the LORD, who made heaven and earth.
When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you; when you walk through fire you shall not be burned, and the flame shall not consume you.
Those who trust in the LORD are like Mount Zion, which cannot be moved, but abides forever.
Our soul waits for the LORD; he is our help and our shield.For our heart is glad in him, because we trust in his holy name.
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
But I have calmed and quieted my soul, like a weaned child with its mother; like a weaned child is my soul within me.
As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Abide in my love.If you keep my commandments, you will abide in my love, just as I have kept my Father's commandments and abide in his love.
For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon[4] his shoulder, and his name shall be called[5] Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[7] for those who are called according to his purpose.
The LORD is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.
My people will abide in a peaceful habitation, in secure dwellings, and in quiet resting places.
Blessed is the man whom you discipline, O LORD, and whom you teach out of your law,to give him rest from days of trouble, until a pit is dug for the wicked.
For God is not a God of confusion but of peace. As in all the churches of the saints,
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
Let me hear what God the LORD will speak, for he will speak peace to his people, to his saints; but let them not turn back to folly.
For the mountains may depart and the hills be removed, but my steadfast love shall not depart from you, and my covenant of peace shall not be removed," says the LORD, who has compassion on you.
Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear. For fear has to do with punishment, and whoever fears has not been perfected in love.
Why are you cast down, O my soul, and why are you in turmoil within me? Hope in God; for I shall again praise him, my salvation and my God.
Finally, brothers,[1] rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another,[2] agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.
I waited patiently for the LORD; he inclined to me and heard my cry.He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure.
Say to those who have an anxious heart, "Be strong; fear not! Behold, your God will come with vengeance, with the recompense of God. He will come and save you."
It is the LORD who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed."
As one whom his mother comforts, so I will comfort you; you shall be comforted in Jerusalem.
He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day,
Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it.
For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers,nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.
I do not ask that you take them out of the world, but that you keep them from the evil one.[1]
In all their affliction he was afflicted,[3] and the angel of his presence saved them; in his love and in his pity he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old.
For you did not receive the spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption as sons, by whom we cry, "Abba! Father!"
Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, "I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life."
As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the LORD surrounds his people, from this time forth and forevermore.
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
Have you not known? Have you not heard? The LORD is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He does not faint or grow weary; his understanding is unsearchable.He gives power to the faint, and to him who has no might he increases strength.
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.
Know that the LORD, he is God! It is he who made us, and we are his;[1] we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
As a father shows compassion to his children, so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.For he knows our frame;[1] he remembers that we are dust.
And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.And if we know that he hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests that we have asked of him.
O God, you are my God; earnestly I seek you; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.So I have looked upon you in the sanctuary, beholding your power and glory.Because your steadfast love is better than life, my lips will praise you.So I will bless you as long as I live; in your name I will lift up my hands.
teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
The steps of a man are established by the LORD, when he delights in his way;though he fall, he shall not be cast headlong, for the LORD upholds his hand.
"I, I am he who comforts you; who are you that you are afraid of man who dies, of the son of man who is made like grass,
Out of my distress I called on the LORD; the LORD answered me and set me free.The LORD is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
For you have been a stronghold to the poor, a stronghold to the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat; for the breath of the ruthless is like a storm against a wall,
For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking but of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.
My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength[2] of my heart and my portion forever.
I have blotted out your transgressions like a cloud and your sins like mist; return to me, for I have redeemed you.
We have this as a sure and steadfast anchor of the soul, a hope that enters into the inner place behind the curtain,
How precious is your steadfast love, O God! The children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of your wings.They feast on the abundance of your house, and you give them drink from the river of your delights.
And how are they to preach unless they are sent? As it is written, "How beautiful are the feet of those who preach the good news!"
because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us[8] from on highto give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace."
Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.Let all that you do be done in love.
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.
The LORD is a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble.And those who know your name put their trust in you, for you, O LORD, have not forsaken those who seek you.
But the Lord is faithful. He will establish you and guard you against the evil one.[3]
"For you shall go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and the hills before you shall break forth into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us,to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.
But now thus says the LORD, he who created you, O Jacob, he who formed you, O Israel: "Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by name, you are mine.
For his anger is but for a moment, and his favor is for a lifetime.[3] Weeping may tarry for the night, but joy comes with the morning.
You who have made me see many troubles and calamities will revive me again; from the depths of the earth you will bring me up again.You will increase my greatness and comfort me again.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
He will not let your foot be moved; he who keeps you will not slumber.Behold, he who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
This God -- his way is perfect;[3] the word of the LORD proves true; he is a shield for all those who take refuge in him.
and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you,
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees?But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
the LORD opens the eyes of the blind. The LORD lifts up those who are bowed down; the LORD loves the righteous.
Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.I give thanks to my God always for you because of the grace of God that was given you in Christ Jesus,
But Jesus looked at them and said, "With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
For thus says the LORD: "Behold, I will extend peace to her like a river, and the glory of the nations like an overflowing stream; and you shall nurse, you shall be carried upon her hip, and bounced upon her knees.
But may all who seek you rejoice and be glad in you; may those who love your salvation say continually, "Great is the LORD!"
Now there is great gain in godliness with contentment,for we brought nothing into the world, and[3] we cannot take anything out of the world.
But let all who take refuge in you rejoice; let them ever sing for joy, and spread your protection over them, that those who love your name may exult in you.
Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
Are not two sparrows sold for a penny?[7] And not one of them will fall to the ground apart from your Father.But even the hairs of your head are all numbered.Fear not, therefore; you are of more value than many sparrows.
And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that having all sufficiency[3] in all things at all times, you may abound in every good work.
And the LORD will guide you continually and satisfy your desire in scorched places and make your bones strong; and you shall be like a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor. No good thing does he withhold from those who walk uprightly.
