37 Bible verses about being a good Father or Dad

37 Bible verses about being a good Father or Dad

Becoming a parent is a life-changing experience. It's like welcoming a whole new person into the world to complete the joy of the home you've built together. From the moment you find out you're expecting, the happiness is overwhelming, isn't it? It's such a beautiful thing, a true gift from God that unfolds in its own time.

Proverbs 23:22-251 offers some beautiful wisdom: "Listen to your father, who gave you life, and do not despise your mother when she is old. Buy the truth and do not sell it— wisdom, instruction and insight as well. The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him. May your father and mother rejoice; may she who gave you birth be joyful!"

Cherish every moment, because kids grow up fast. You'll want to create unforgettable memories and experience each stage with all the joy and excitement it holds. Give thanks to God for this incredible privilege of being a parent. And when things get tough, when you're not sure what to do, ask the Holy Spirit for guidance.

Don't lose your joy. Don't let the hard times steal the smiles from your faces. Trust in God's power and find your rest in His word.

Prayer

Oh Father, to You I give all glory and honor! Thank You, Lord, for blessing me with the gift of parenthood, when others have longed for this privilege. Lord, You bless me in such a special way. In these challenging times, where wickedness has increased, I ask for Your wisdom and understanding to raise my children in Your ways, and for the prudence to guide them. Your word says, "The father of a righteous child has great joy; a man who fathers a wise son rejoices in him." Holy Spirit, teach me to be a better parent each day, to always have words that build up, teach, and correct, for I want to be an example and a testimony to other parents. My Lord Jesus, just as You and the Father are one, may I be one with my children. To You alone be all the glory and honor! In Jesus' name, Amen.
