VERSES FOR OFFERINGS

VERSES FOR OFFERINGS

Think about giving – it's truly beautiful in God's eyes. When you're preparing your offering, remember it should be your best, given with a sincere heart. It should be a joyful act, knowing how much God has already blessed us with, even when we don't deserve it. He's been incredibly generous, hasn't He?

If you only give what's leftover, well, life might just mirror that back to you. Think about it – give as if you're giving to yourself. Don't do it out of obligation or because you expect something in return. True giving comes from the heart.

Don't make a big show of it either. It's not about getting praised or patted on the back. Let your giving be a quiet act between you and God. He sees what's in your heart, and He loves a cheerful giver. Remember what it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Giving is an act of worship, a way to give back a portion of what God has already given us. And when God gives, He gives abundantly. When you offer from the heart, you're opening the door for even more blessings. The more you give, the more you receive. It's a beautiful cycle.

Genesis 12:1-3

And Jehovah had said to Abram, Go out of thy land, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, to the land that I will shew thee. And there was a famine in the land. And Abram went down to Egypt to sojourn there, for the famine was grievous in the land. And it came to pass when he was come near to enter into Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, Behold now, I know that thou art a woman fair to look upon. And it will come to pass when the Egyptians see thee, that they will say, She is his wife; and they will slay me, and save thee alive.Say, I pray thee, thou art my sister, that it may be well with me on thy account, and my soul may live because of thee. And it came to pass when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians beheld the woman that she was very fair. And the princes of Pharaoh saw her, and praised her to Pharaoh; and the woman was taken into Pharaoh's house. And he treated Abram well on her account; and he had sheep, and oxen, and he-asses, and bondmen, and bondwomen, and she-asses, and camels. And Jehovah plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai Abram's wife. And Pharaoh called Abram, and said, What is this thou hast done to me? Why didst thou not tell me that she was thy wife? Why didst thou say, She is my sister, so that I took her as my wife. And now, behold, there is thy wife: take her, and go away. And I will make of thee a great nation, and bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing. And Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him, and they sent him away, and his wife, and all that he had.And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee; and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

Deuteronomy 5:2-3

Jehovah our God made a covenant with us in Horeb.Neither shalt thou bear false witness against thy neighbour.Neither shalt thou desire thy neighbour's wife, neither shalt thou covet thy neighbour's house, his field, nor his bondman, nor his handmaid, his ox, nor his ass, nor anything that is thy neighbour's.These words Jehovah spoke to all your congregation on the mountain from the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the obscurity, with a great voice, and he added no more; and he wrote them on two tables of stone, and gave them to me.And it came to pass, when ye heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, and the mountain burned with fire, that ye came near to me, all the heads of your tribes, and your elders;and ye said, Behold, Jehovah our God has shewn us his glory and his greatness, and we have heard his voice from the midst of the fire: we have seen this day that God talks with man, and he lives. And now, why should we die? for this great fire will consume us. If we hear the voice of Jehovah our God any more, we shall die.For who is there of all flesh, that has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we, and has lived?Come thou near, and hear all that Jehovah our God will say; and speak thou to us all that Jehovah our God will speak to thee; and we will hear it, and do it.And Jehovah heard the voice of your words, when ye spoke to me; and Jehovah said unto me, I have heard the voice of the words of this people that have spoken to thee: they have well spoken all that they have spoken.Oh that there were such a heart in them, that they would fear me, and keep all my commandments continually, that it might be well with them and with their sons for ever! Not with our fathers did Jehovah make this covenant, but with us, even us, those who are here alive all of us this day.

I say then, Has God cast away his people? Far be the thought. For I also am an Israelite, of the seed of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.let their eyes be darkened not to see, and bow down their back alway.I say then, Have they stumbled in order that they might fall? Far be the thought: but by their fall there is salvation to the nations to provoke them to jealousy. But if their fall be the world's wealth, and their loss the wealth of the nations, how much rather their fulness? For I speak to you, the nations, inasmuch as I am apostle of nations, I glorify my ministry;if by any means I shall provoke to jealousy them which are my flesh, and shall save some from among them. For if their casting away be the world's reconciliation, what their reception but life from among the dead? Now if the first-fruit be holy, the lump also; and if the root be holy, the branches also. Now if some of the branches have been broken out, and thou, being a wild olive tree, hast been grafted in amongst them, and hast become a fellow-partaker of the root and of the fatness of the olive tree, boast not against the branches; but if thou boast, it is not thou bearest the root, but the root thee.Thou wilt say then, The branches have been broken out in order that I might be grafted in.God has not cast away his people whom he foreknew. Know ye not what the scripture says in the history of Elias, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Romans 5:1-2

Therefore having been justified on the principle of faith, we have peace towards God through our Lord Jesus Christ; For if, being enemies, we have been reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much rather, having been reconciled, we shall be saved in the power of his life. And not only that, but we are making our boast in God, through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom now we have received the reconciliation. For this cause, even as by one man sin entered into the world, and by sin death; and thus death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:(for until law sin was in the world; but sin is not put to account when there is no law;but death reigned from Adam until Moses, even upon those who had not sinned in the likeness of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him to come. But shall not the act of favour be as the offence? For if by the offence of one the many have died, much rather has the grace of God, and the free gift in grace, which isby the one man Jesus Christ, abounded unto the many. And shall not as by one that has sinned be the gift? For the judgment was of one to condemnation, but the act of favour, of many offences unto justification. For if by the offence of the one death reigned by the one, much rather shall those who receive the abundance of grace, and of the free gift of righteousness, reign in life by the one Jesus Christ:)so then as it was by one offence towards all men to condemnation, so by one righteousness towards all men for justification of life. For as indeed by the disobedience of the one man the many have been constituted sinners, so also by the obedience of the one the many will be constituted righteous.by whom we have also access by faith into this favour in which we stand, and we boast in hope of the glory of God.

Bless Jehovah, O my soul! Jehovah my God thou art very great; thou art clothed with majesty and splendour; He sendeth the springs into the valleys: they run among the mountains; They give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst. The birds of heaven dwell by them; they give forth their voice from among the branches. He watereth the mountains from his upper-chambers: the earth is satisfied with the fruit of thy works. He maketh the grass to grow for the cattle, and herb for the service of man; bringing forth bread out of the earth,And wine which gladdeneth the heart of man; making his face shine with oil; and with bread he strengtheneth man's heart. The trees of Jehovah are satisfied, the cedars of Lebanon, which he hath planted,Where the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir trees are her house. The high mountains are for the wild goats; the cliffs, a refuge for the rock-badgers.He made the moon for seasons: the sun knoweth its going down.Covering thyself with light as with a garment, stretching out the heavens like a tent-curtain; —Thou makest darkness, and it is night, wherein all the beasts of the forest creep forth:The young lions roar after the prey, and to seek their food from ·GodThe sun ariseth, they retreat, and lay them down in their dens.Man goeth forth unto his work, and to his labour until the evening. How manifold are thy works, O Jehovah! in wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.Yonder is the great and wide sea: therein are moving things innumerable, living creatures small and great. There go the ships; there that leviathan, which thou hast formed to play therein. These all look unto thee, that thou mayest give their food in its season:That thou givest unto them, they gather; thou openest thy hand, they are filled with good.Thou hidest thy face, they are troubled; thou takest away their breath, they expire and return to their dust.Who layeth the beams of his upper chambers in the waters, who maketh clouds his chariot, who walketh upon the wings of the wind;Thou sendest forth thy spirit, they are created, and thou renewest the face of the earth. The glory of Jehovah will endure for ever; Jehovah will rejoice in his works. He looketh on the earth, and it trembleth; he toucheth the mountains, and they smoke.I will sing unto Jehovah as long as I live; I will sing psalms to my God while I have my being. My meditation shall be pleasant unto him; I will rejoice in Jehovah.Sinners shall be consumed out of the earth, and the wicked shall be no more. Bless Jehovah, O my soul. Hallelujah!Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flame of fire.He laid the earth upon its foundations: it shall not be removed for ever.

Prayer

Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega! Father, creator of heaven and earth, You are the first and the last, the beginning and the end. In Jesus' name, I come before You with joy and gladness to thank You for Your faithfulness and provision. Your word says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Lord Jesus, help me to be compassionate, to be sensitive to the needs of my brothers and sisters in faith and to my neighbor. Help me to be a reflection of Your love, for that pleases Your heart and is a sweet offering in Your presence. I offer my heart to worship and honor You with my possessions, with the work of my hands, for from what I have received from You, I give back to You. Today, I renounce selfishness, self-centeredness, indifference, and stinginess. I give You my best because You gave Your best out of love for us. Receive my offering, and may it rise as a sweet aroma to Your presence. Your word says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." Lord, may I, in the same way, be a channel of blessing and sow into the lives of others. Grant me, Lord, a generous and giving heart so that my life may be a pleasing offering to You. I firmly believe that my reward comes from the kingdom of heaven and that everything I give to those in need is as if I give it to You, my Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
