VERSES FOR OFFERINGS

VERSES FOR OFFERINGS

Think about giving – it's truly beautiful in God's eyes. When you're preparing your offering, remember it should be your best, given with a sincere heart. It should be a joyful act, knowing how much God has already blessed us with, even when we don't deserve it. He's been incredibly generous, hasn't He?

If you only give what's leftover, well, life might just mirror that back to you. Think about it – give as if you're giving to yourself. Don't do it out of obligation or because you expect something in return. True giving comes from the heart.

Don't make a big show of it either. It's not about getting praised or patted on the back. Let your giving be a quiet act between you and God. He sees what's in your heart, and He loves a cheerful giver. Remember what it says in 2 Corinthians 9:7: "Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver."

Giving is an act of worship, a way to give back a portion of what God has already given us. And when God gives, He gives abundantly. When you offer from the heart, you're opening the door for even more blessings. The more you give, the more you receive. It's a beautiful cycle.

Why did you not tell me that she was your wife? Why did you say, ‘She is my sister,’ so that I took her for my wife? Now then, here is your wife, take her and go.”And I will make you a great nation, And I will bless you, And make your name great; And so you shall be a blessing;Pharaoh commanded his men concerning him; and they escorted him away, with his wife and all that belonged to him.And I will bless those who bless you, And the one who curses you I will curse. He wrote them on two tablets of stone and gave them to me.And when you heard the voice from the midst of the darkness, while the mountain was burning with fire, you came near to me, all the heads of your tribes and your elders. You said, ‘Behold, the Lord our God has shown us His glory and His greatness, and we have heard His voice from the midst of the fire; we have seen today that God speaks with man, yet he lives. Now then why should we die? For this great fire will consume us; if we hear the voice of the Lord our God any longer, then we will die.For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived?Go near and hear all that the Lord our God says; then speak to us all that the Lord our God speaks to you, and we will hear and do it.’“The Lord heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the Lord said to me, ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken.Oh that they had such a heart in them, that they would fear Me and keep all My commandments always, that it may be well with them and with their sons forever! The Lord did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us, with all those of us alive here today.

I say then, God has not rejected His people, has He? May it never be! For I too am an Israelite, a descendant of Abraham, of the tribe of Benjamin.Let their eyes be darkened to see not, And bend their backs forever.”I say then, they did not stumble so as to fall, did they? May it never be! But by their transgression salvation has come to the Gentiles, to make them jealous. Now if their transgression is riches for the world and their failure is riches for the Gentiles, how much more will their fulfillment be!But I am speaking to you who are Gentiles. Inasmuch then as I am an apostle of Gentiles, I magnify my ministry,if somehow I might move to jealousy my fellow countrymen and save some of them. For if their rejection is the reconciliation of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?If the first piece of dough is holy, the lump is also; and if the root is holy, the branches are too.But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive, were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich root of the olive tree,do not be arrogant toward the branches; but if you are arrogant, remember that it is not you who supports the root, but the root supports you.You will say then, “Branches were broken off so that I might be grafted in.”God has not rejected His people whom He foreknew. Or do you not know what the Scripture says in the passage about Elijah, how he pleads with God against Israel?

Romans 5:1-2

Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life. And not only this, but we also exult in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation. Therefore, just as through one man sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned—for until the Law sin was in the world, but sin is not imputed when there is no law.Nevertheless death reigned from Adam until Moses, even over those who had not sinned in the likeness of the offense of Adam, who is a type of Him who was to come. But the free gift is not like the transgression. For if by the transgression of the one the many died, much more did the grace of God and the gift by the grace of the one Man, Jesus Christ, abound to the many. The gift is not like that which came through the one who sinned; for on the one hand the judgment arose from one transgression resulting in condemnation, but on the other hand the free gift arose from many transgressions resulting in justification. For if by the transgression of the one, death reigned through the one, much more those who receive the abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness will reign in life through the One, Jesus Christ. So then as through one transgression there resulted condemnation to all men, even so through one act of righteousness there resulted justification of life to all men.For as through the one man’s disobedience the many were made sinners, even so through the obedience of the One the many will be made righteous.through whom also we have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we exult in hope of the glory of God.

Bless the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great; You are clothed with splendor and majesty,He sends forth springs in the valleys; They flow between the mountains; They give drink to every beast of the field; The wild donkeys quench their thirst.Beside them the birds of the heavens dwell; They lift up their voices among the branches. He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; The earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works. He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the labor of man, So that he may bring forth food from the earth,And wine which makes man’s heart glad, So that he may make his face glisten with oil, And food which sustains man’s heart. The trees of the Lord drink their fill, The cedars of Lebanon which He planted,Where the birds build their nests, And the stork, whose home is the fir trees. The high mountains are for the wild goats; The cliffs are a refuge for the shephanim. He made the moon for the seasons; The sun knows the place of its setting.Covering Yourself with light as with a cloak, Stretching out heaven like a tent curtain. You appoint darkness and it becomes night, In which all the beasts of the forest prowl about. The young lions roar after their prey And seek their food from God.When the sun rises they withdraw And lie down in their dens.Man goes forth to his work And to his labor until evening.O Lord, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; The earth is full of Your possessions. There is the sea, great and broad, In which are swarms without number, Animals both small and great. There the ships move along, And Leviathan, which You have formed to sport in it. They all wait for You To give them their food in due season. You give to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, they are satisfied with good. You hide Your face, they are dismayed; You take away their spirit, they expire And return to their dust.He lays the beams of His upper chambers in the waters; He makes the clouds His chariot; He walks upon the wings of the wind; You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; And You renew the face of the ground.Let the glory of the Lord endure forever; Let the Lord be glad in His works; He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being.Let my meditation be pleasing to Him; As for me, I shall be glad in the Lord.Let sinners be consumed from the earth And let the wicked be no more. Bless the Lord, O my soul. Praise the Lord!He makes the winds His messengers, Flaming fire His ministers. He established the earth upon its foundations, So that it will not totter forever and ever.

Prayer

Lord, You are the Alpha and the Omega! Father, creator of heaven and earth, You are the first and the last, the beginning and the end. In Jesus' name, I come before You with joy and gladness to thank You for Your faithfulness and provision. Your word says, "It is more blessed to give than to receive." Lord Jesus, help me to be compassionate, to be sensitive to the needs of my brothers and sisters in faith and to my neighbor. Help me to be a reflection of Your love, for that pleases Your heart and is a sweet offering in Your presence. I offer my heart to worship and honor You with my possessions, with the work of my hands, for from what I have received from You, I give back to You. Today, I renounce selfishness, self-centeredness, indifference, and stinginess. I give You my best because You gave Your best out of love for us. Receive my offering, and may it rise as a sweet aroma to Your presence. Your word says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." Lord, may I, in the same way, be a channel of blessing and sow into the lives of others. Grant me, Lord, a generous and giving heart so that my life may be a pleasing offering to You. I firmly believe that my reward comes from the kingdom of heaven and that everything I give to those in need is as if I give it to You, my Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
