66 Bible Verses about Offering That Pleases God

66 Bible Verses about Offering That Pleases God

You know, God sees right into our hearts. He knows when we're giving our best. He's not looking for perfection, but He loves it when we give cheerfully and not grudgingly. Think about it: when you give a gift with a happy heart, it just feels different, right?

Your offering should come from a willing heart, given justly, according to what you have. As the Bible says, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It's not about how much, but about the heart behind it.

The Bible teaches us that God wants us to give joyfully and generously, just like He does. He gives abundantly, "without finding fault" (James 1:5). Think about the sunshine and the rain – He gives those to everyone, right? Just like in Matthew 5:45, He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. That's true generosity.

So, when you give to God, think of it as a thank you for all He's given you. And don't forget about giving to others, too, following God's example. It's a way of acknowledging that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.

When you give, trust in God's faithfulness and His promise to provide for all your needs. He's got you covered. More than the actual gift, He cares about the attitude behind it. He wants your offering to be obedient and freely given, according to His commandments, and accompanied by a merciful heart, full of the desire to glorify Him. God makes it clear that He's not pleased with offerings that are just going through the motions, you know, those traditional or ritualistic ones that lack a truly obedient and merciful heart, lacking the desire to glorify Him.

May what you want to happen be done on earth as it is done in heaven.Give us today our daily bread. And forgive us our sins, just as we also have forgiven those who sin against us.Keep us from sinning when we are tempted. Save us from the evil one.’Forgive other people when they sin against you. If you do, your Father who is in heaven will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive the sins of other people, your Father will not forgive your sins.“When you go without eating, do not look gloomy like those who only pretend to be holy. They make their faces look very sad. They want to show people they are fasting. What I’m about to tell you is true. They have received their complete reward. But when you go without eating, put olive oil on your head. Wash your face. Then others will not know that you are fasting. Only your Father, who can’t be seen, will know it. Your Father will reward you, because he sees what you do secretly.“Do not gather for yourselves riches on earth. Moths and rats can destroy them. Thieves can break in and steal them.“When you give to needy people, do not announce it by having trumpets blown. Do not be like those who only pretend to be holy. They announce what they do in the synagogues and on the streets. They want to be honored by other people. What I’m about to tell you is true. They have received their complete reward.Instead, gather for yourselves riches in heaven. There, moths and rats do not destroy them. There, thieves do not break in and steal them.Your heart will be where your riches are.“The eye is like a lamp for the body. Suppose your eyes are healthy. Then your whole body will be full of light. But suppose your eyes can’t see well. Then your whole body will be full of darkness. If the light inside you is darkness, then it is very dark!“No one can serve two masters at the same time. You will hate one of them and love the other. Or you will be faithful to one and dislike the other. You can’t serve God and money at the same time.“I tell you, do not worry. Don’t worry about your life and what you will eat or drink. And don’t worry about your body and what you will wear. Isn’t there more to life than eating? Aren’t there more important things for the body than clothes?Look at the birds of the air. They don’t plant or gather crops. They don’t put away crops in storerooms. But your Father who is in heaven feeds them. Aren’t you worth much more than they are?Can you add even one hour to your life by worrying?“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the wild flowers grow. They don’t work or make clothing. But here is what I tell you. Not even Solomon in all his royal robes was dressed like one of these flowers. When you give to needy people, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. If that is how God dresses the wild grass, won’t he dress you even better? Your faith is so small! After all, the grass is here only today. Tomorrow it is thrown into the fire.So don’t worry. Don’t say, ‘What will we eat?’ Or, ‘What will we drink?’ Or, ‘What will we wear?’People who are ungodly run after all those things. Your Father who is in heaven knows that you need them. But put God’s kingdom first. Do what he wants you to do. Then all those things will also be given to you.So don’t worry about tomorrow. Tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Then your giving will be done secretly. Your Father will reward you, because he sees what you do secretly.

The authorities will put some of you to death.Everyone will hate you because of me.But not a hair on your head will be harmed.Remain strong in the faith, and you will receive eternal life.He also saw a poor widow put in two very small copper coins.“A time is coming when you will see armies surround Jerusalem. Then you will know that it will soon be destroyed. Those who are in Judea should then escape to the mountains. Those in the city should get out. Those in the country should not enter the city. This is the time when God will punish Jerusalem. Also, pray that you will not be judged guilty when the Son of Man comes.”Each day Jesus taught at the temple. Prayer

Faithful and true God, Almighty Lord! I praise You for You are righteous, holy, and worthy of all supreme praise and adoration. In Jesus' name, I come to thank You with joy and gladness for Your faithfulness and provision. I offer my heart to worship and honor You with my possessions, with the work of my hands, for from what I have received from You, I give to You. I give You my best because You gave Your best out of love for us. Receive my offering, and may it rise as a sweet aroma into Your presence. Your word says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." Lord, in the same way, may I be a channel of blessing and sow into the lives of others. Grant me, Lord, a generous and giving heart, for it is better to give than to receive. Purify my intentions, that my life may be a pleasing offering to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
