You know, God sees right into our hearts. He knows when we're giving our best. He's not looking for perfection, but He loves it when we give cheerfully and not grudgingly. Think about it: when you give a gift with a happy heart, it just feels different, right?
Your offering should come from a willing heart, given justly, according to what you have. As the Bible says, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It's not about how much, but about the heart behind it.
The Bible teaches us that God wants us to give joyfully and generously, just like He does. He gives abundantly, "without finding fault" (James 1:5). Think about the sunshine and the rain – He gives those to everyone, right? Just like in Matthew 5:45, He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. That's true generosity.
So, when you give to God, think of it as a thank you for all He's given you. And don't forget about giving to others, too, following God's example. It's a way of acknowledging that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.
When you give, trust in God's faithfulness and His promise to provide for all your needs. He's got you covered. More than the actual gift, He cares about the attitude behind it. He wants your offering to be obedient and freely given, according to His commandments, and accompanied by a merciful heart, full of the desire to glorify Him. God makes it clear that He's not pleased with offerings that are just going through the motions, you know, those traditional or ritualistic ones that lack a truly obedient and merciful heart, lacking the desire to glorify Him.
Abel, on his part also brought an offering, from the firstborn of his flock and from their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering;
Ascribe to the Lord the glory due His name; Bring an offering, and come before Him; Worship the Lord in holy attire.
And Jesus sat down opposite the treasury, and began watching how the people were putting money into the treasury; and many rich people were putting in large amounts.And a poor widow came and put in two lepta coins, which amount to a quadrans.Calling His disciples to Him, He said to them, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all the contributors to the treasury;for they all put in out of their surplus, but she, out of her poverty, put in all she owned, all she had to live on.”
Therefore, if you are presenting your offering at the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you,leave your offering there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and present your offering.
“So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.
Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Give, and it will be given to you. They will pour into your lap a good measure—pressed down, shaken together, and running over. For by your standard of measure it will be measured to you in return.”
May the Lord answer you on a day of trouble! May the name of the God of Jacob protect you! May He send you help from the sanctuary, And support you from Zion!May He remember all your meal offerings And accept your burnt offering! Selah
“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.“So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
A generous person will be prosperous, And one who gives others plenty of water will himself be given plenty.
Jesus said to him, “If you want to be complete, go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.”
And if I give away all my possessions to charity, and if I surrender my body so that I may glory, but do not have love, it does me no good.
And He will sit as a smelter and purifier of silver, and He will purify the sons of Levi and refine them like gold and silver, so that they may present to the Lord offerings in righteousness.
For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
And God is able to make all grace overflow to you, so that, always having all sufficiency in everything, you may have an abundance for every good deed;
Now He who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will supply and multiply your seed for sowing and increase the harvest of your righteousness;
Now I say this: the one who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and the one who sows generously will also reap generously.
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you are to do as well.Now if Timothy comes, see that he has no reason to be afraid while among you, for he is doing the Lord’s work, as I also am.So do not look down on him, anyone. But send him on his way in peace, so that he may come to me; for I expect him with the brothers.Now concerning our brother Apollos, I strongly encouraged him to come to you with the brothers; and it was not at all his desire to come now, but he will come when he has the opportunity.Be on the alert, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong.All that you do must be done in love.Now I urge you, brothers and sisters: you know the household of Stephanas, that they are the first fruits of Achaia, and that they have devoted themselves to ministry to the saints;I urge that you also be subject to such as these and to everyone who helps in the work and labors.I rejoice over the coming of Stephanas, Fortunatus, and Achaicus, because they have supplied what was lacking on your part.For they have refreshed my spirit and yours. Therefore acknowledge such men.The churches of Asia greet you. Aquila and Prisca greet you heartily in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.On the first day of every week, each of you is to put aside and save as he may prosper, so that no collections need to be made when I come.
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, so that there may be food in My house, and put Me to the test now in this,” says the Lord of armies, “if I do not open for you the windows of heaven and pour out for you a blessing until it overflows.
There is one who scatters, and yet increases all the more, And there is one who withholds what is justly due, and yet it results only in poverty.
‘Now when you offer a sacrifice of peace offerings to the Lord, you shall offer it so that you may be accepted.
you will be enriched in everything for all liberality, which through us is producing thanksgiving to God.
Give to everyone who asks of you, and whoever takes away what is yours, do not demand it back.
Ascribe to the Lord the glory of His name; Bring an offering and come into His courtyards.
But I have received everything in full and have an abundance; I am amply supplied, having received from Epaphroditus what you have sent, a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God.
“Take care not to practice your righteousness in the sight of people, to be noticed by them; otherwise you have no reward with your Father who is in heaven.‘ Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. ‘Give us this day our daily bread. ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors.‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. ’ For if you forgive other people for their offenses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive other people, then your Father will not forgive your offenses. “Now whenever you fast, do not make a gloomy face as the hypocrites do, for they distort their faces so that they will be noticed by people when they are fasting. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.But as for you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,so that your fasting will not be noticed by people but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.“Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal.“So when you give to the poor, do not sound a trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and on the streets, so that they will be praised by people. Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys, and where thieves do not break in or steal;for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“The eye is the lamp of the body; so then, if your eye is clear, your whole body will be full of light.But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. So if the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness! “No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and wealth. “For this reason I say to you, do not be worried about your life, as to what you will eat or what you will drink; nor for your body, as to what you will put on. Is life not more than food, and the body more than clothing?Look at the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, nor reap, nor gather crops into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more important than they?And which of you by worrying can add a single day to his life’s span?And why are you worried about clothing? Notice how the lilies of the field grow; they do not labor nor do they spin thread for cloth,yet I say to you that not even Solomon in all his glory clothed himself like one of these.But when you give to the poor, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which is alive today and tomorrow is thrown into the furnace, will He not much more clothe you? You of little faith!Do not worry then, saying, ‘What are we to eat?’ or ‘What are we to drink?’ or ‘What are we to wear for clothing?’For the Gentiles eagerly seek all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be provided to you. “So do not worry about tomorrow; for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.so that your charitable giving will be in secret; and your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you.
So it came about in the course of time that Cain brought an offering to the Lord from the fruit of the ground.Abel, on his part also brought an offering, from the firstborn of his flock and from their fat portions. And the Lord had regard for Abel and his offering;but for Cain and his offering He had no regard. So Cain became very angry and his face was gloomy.
‘Take from among you a contribution to the Lord; whoever is of a willing heart is to bring it as the Lord’s contribution: gold, silver, and bronze,
When you sacrifice a sacrifice of thanksgiving to the Lord, you shall sacrifice it so that you may be accepted.
Everyone shall give as he is able, in accordance with the blessing of the Lord your God which He has given you.
For You do not delight in sacrifice, otherwise I would give it; You do not take pleasure in burnt offering.The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; A broken and a contrite heart, God, You will not despise.
“But who am I and who are my people that we should be able to offer as generously as this? For all things come from You, and from Your hand we have given to You.
Now He looked up and saw the wealthy putting their gifts into the temple treasury.Then He continued by saying to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom,and there will be massive earthquakes, and in various places plagues and famines; and there will be terrible sights and great signs from heaven. “But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and persecute you, turning you over to the synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors on account of My name.It will lead to an opportunity for your testimony.So make up your minds not to prepare beforehand to defend yourselves;for I will provide you eloquence and wisdom which none of your adversaries will be able to oppose or refute.But you will be betrayed even by parents, brothers and sisters, other relatives, and friends, and they will put some of you to death,and you will be hated by all people because of My name.And yet not a hair of your head will perish.By your endurance you will gain your lives. And He saw a poor widow putting in two lepta coins.“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then recognize that her desolation is near.Then those who are in Judea must flee to the mountains, and those who are inside the city must leave, and those who are in the country must not enter the city;because these are days of punishment, so that all things which have been written will be fulfilled.Woe to those women who are pregnant, and to those who are nursing babies in those days; for there will be great distress upon the land, and wrath to this people;and they will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations; and Jerusalem will be trampled underfoot by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“There will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth distress among nations, in perplexity at the roaring of the sea and the waves,people fainting from fear and the expectation of the things that are coming upon the world; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.And then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.But when these things begin to take place, straighten up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”And He told them a parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees:And He said, “Truly I say to you, this poor widow put in more than all of them;as soon as they put forth leaves, you see for yourselves and know that summer is now near.So you too, when you see these things happening, recognize that the kingdom of God is near.Truly I say to you, this generation will not pass away until all things take place.Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.“But be on your guard, so that your hearts will not be weighed down with dissipation and drunkenness and the worries of life, and that this day will not come on you suddenly, like a trap;for it will come upon all those who live on the face of all the earth.But stay alert at all times, praying that you will have strength to escape all these things that are going to take place, and to stand before the Son of Man.”Now during the day He was teaching in the temple, but at evening He would go out and spend the night on the mountain that is called Olivet.And all the people would get up very early in the morning to come to Him in the temple to listen to Him.for they all contributed to the offering from their surplus; but she, from her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”
Therefore I urge you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship.

So if you, despite being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
The Lord is God, and He has given us light; Bind the festival sacrifice to the horns of the altar with cords.
Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord and not for people,knowing that it is from the Lord that you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve.
Do not be deceived, God is not mocked; for whatever a person sows, this he will also reap.For the one who sows to his own flesh will reap destruction from the flesh, but the one who sows to the Spirit will reap eternal life from the Spirit.Let’s not become discouraged in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not become weary.
¶Enter His gates with thanksgiving, And His courtyards with praise. Give thanks to Him, bless His name.
“Is this not the fast that I choose: To release the bonds of wickedness, To undo the ropes of the yoke, And to let the oppressed go free, And break every yoke?“Is it not to break your bread with the hungry And bring the homeless poor into the house; When you see the naked, to cover him; And not to hide yourself from your own flesh?
By faith Abel offered to God a better sacrifice than Cain, through which he was attested to be righteous, God testifying about his gifts, and through faith, though he is dead, he still speaks.
but now, I am going to Jerusalem, serving the saints.For Macedonia and Achaia have been pleased to make a contribution for the poor among the saints in Jerusalem.
Instruct them to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share,storing up for themselves the treasure of a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life.
¶What shall I repay to the Lord For all His benefits to me? I will lift up the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of the Lord.I will pay my vows to the Lord; May it be in the presence of all His people!
But whoever has worldly goods and sees his brother or sister in need, and closes his heart against him, how does the love of God remain in him?Little children, let’s not love with word or with tongue, but in deed and truth.
That my soul may sing praise to You and not be silent. Lord my God, I will give thanks to You forever.
Through Him then, let’s continually offer up a sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of lips praising His name.

If we sowed spiritual things in you, is it too much if we reap material things from you?
shepherd the flock of God among you, exercising oversight, not under compulsion but voluntarily, according to the will of God; and not with greed but with eagerness;nor yet as domineering over those assigned to your care, but by proving to be examples to the flock.
One who oppresses the poor taunts his Maker, But one who is gracious to the needy honors Him.
Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.
