66 Bible Verses about Offering That Pleases God

66 Bible Verses about Offering That Pleases God

You know, God sees right into our hearts. He knows when we're giving our best. He's not looking for perfection, but He loves it when we give cheerfully and not grudgingly. Think about it: when you give a gift with a happy heart, it just feels different, right?

Your offering should come from a willing heart, given justly, according to what you have. As the Bible says, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It's not about how much, but about the heart behind it.

The Bible teaches us that God wants us to give joyfully and generously, just like He does. He gives abundantly, "without finding fault" (James 1:5). Think about the sunshine and the rain – He gives those to everyone, right? Just like in Matthew 5:45, He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. That's true generosity.

So, when you give to God, think of it as a thank you for all He's given you. And don't forget about giving to others, too, following God's example. It's a way of acknowledging that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.

When you give, trust in God's faithfulness and His promise to provide for all your needs. He's got you covered. More than the actual gift, He cares about the attitude behind it. He wants your offering to be obedient and freely given, according to His commandments, and accompanied by a merciful heart, full of the desire to glorify Him. God makes it clear that He's not pleased with offerings that are just going through the motions, you know, those traditional or ritualistic ones that lack a truly obedient and merciful heart, lacking the desire to glorify Him.

Matthew 6:1-4

And may thy kingdom still advance, till grace to glory rise. 3 A grateful homage may we yield, with hearts resign’d to thee; And as in heav’n thy will is done, on earth so let it be.From day to day we humbly own the hand that feeds us still: Give us our bread, and teach to rest contented in thy will. Our sins before thee we confess; O may they be forgiv’n! As we to others mercy show, we mercy beg from Heav’n.Still let thy grace our life direct; from evil guard our way; And in temptation’s fatal path permit us not to stray. 7 For thine the pow’r, the kingdom thine; all glory’s due to thee: Thine from eternity they were, and thine shall ever be.

Isaiah 58:6-7

Let such as feel oppression’s load thy tender pity share: And let the helpless, homeless poor, be thy peculiar care.Go, bid the hungry orphan be with thy abundance blest; Invite the wand’rer to thy gate, and spread the couch of rest. 5 Let him who pines with piercing cold by thee be warm’d and clad; Be thine the blissful task to make the downcast mourner glad.

Prayer

Faithful and true God, Almighty Lord! I praise You for You are righteous, holy, and worthy of all supreme praise and adoration. In Jesus' name, I come to thank You with joy and gladness for Your faithfulness and provision. I offer my heart to worship and honor You with my possessions, with the work of my hands, for from what I have received from You, I give to You. I give You my best because You gave Your best out of love for us. Receive my offering, and may it rise as a sweet aroma into Your presence. Your word says, "Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously." Lord, in the same way, may I be a channel of blessing and sow into the lives of others. Grant me, Lord, a generous and giving heart, for it is better to give than to receive. Purify my intentions, that my life may be a pleasing offering to You. In Jesus' name, Amen.
