You know, God sees right into our hearts. He knows when we're giving our best. He's not looking for perfection, but He loves it when we give cheerfully and not grudgingly. Think about it: when you give a gift with a happy heart, it just feels different, right?
Your offering should come from a willing heart, given justly, according to what you have. As the Bible says, "Each one must give as he has decided in his heart" (2 Corinthians 9:7). It's not about how much, but about the heart behind it.
The Bible teaches us that God wants us to give joyfully and generously, just like He does. He gives abundantly, "without finding fault" (James 1:5). Think about the sunshine and the rain – He gives those to everyone, right? Just like in Matthew 5:45, He sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. That's true generosity.
So, when you give to God, think of it as a thank you for all He's given you. And don't forget about giving to others, too, following God's example. It's a way of acknowledging that everything we have ultimately belongs to Him.
When you give, trust in God's faithfulness and His promise to provide for all your needs. He's got you covered. More than the actual gift, He cares about the attitude behind it. He wants your offering to be obedient and freely given, according to His commandments, and accompanied by a merciful heart, full of the desire to glorify Him. God makes it clear that He's not pleased with offerings that are just going through the motions, you know, those traditional or ritualistic ones that lack a truly obedient and merciful heart, lacking the desire to glorify Him.

Jesus sat across from the collection box for the temple treasury and observed how the crowd gave their money. Many rich people were throwing in lots of money. One poor widow came forward and put in two small copper coins worth a penny.Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I assure you that this poor widow has put in more than everyone who’s been putting money in the treasury. All of them are giving out of their spare change. But she from her hopeless poverty has given everything she had, even what she needed to live on.”
Therefore, if you bring your gift to the altar and there remember that your brother or sister has something against you, leave your gift at the altar and go. First make things right with your brother or sister and then come back and offer your gift.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good portion—packed down, firmly shaken, and overflowing—will fall into your lap. The portion you give will determine the portion you receive in return.”

“Stop collecting treasures for your own benefit on earth, where moth and rust eat them and where thieves break in and steal them.Instead, collect treasures for yourselves in heaven, where moth and rust don’t eat them and where thieves don’t break in and steal them.Where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Jesus said, “If you want to be complete, go, sell what you own, and give the money to the poor. Then you will have treasure in heaven. And come follow me.”
If I give away everything that I have and hand over my own body to feel good about what I’ve done but I don’t have love, I receive no benefit whatsoever.
He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver. He will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver. They will belong to the LORD, presenting a righteous offering.
Macedonia and Achaia have been happy to make a contribution for the poor among God’s people in Jerusalem.
God has the power to provide you with more than enough of every kind of grace. That way, you will have everything you need always and in everything to provide more than enough for every kind of good work.
The one who supplies seed for planting and bread for eating will supply and multiply your seed and will increase your crop, which is righteousness.
What I mean is this: the one who sows a small number of seeds will also reap a small crop, and the one who sows a generous amount of seeds will also reap a generous crop.
Concerning the collection of money for God’s people: You should do what I have directed the churches in Galatia to do.On the first day of the week, each of you should set aside whatever you can afford from what you earn so that the collection won’t be delayed until I come.
Bring the whole tenth-part to the storage house so there might be food in my house. Please test me in this, says the LORD of heavenly forces. See whether I do not open all the windows of the heavens for you and empty out a blessing until there is enough.
Don’t forget to do good and to share what you have because God is pleased with these kinds of sacrifices.
Those who give generously receive more, but those who are stingy with what is appropriate will grow needy.
When you sacrifice a communal sacrifice of well-being to the LORD, offer it so that it will be accepted on your account.
You will be made rich in every way so that you can be generous in every way. Such generosity produces thanksgiving to God through us.
I now have plenty and it is more than enough. I am full to overflowing because I received the gifts that you sent from Epaphroditus. Those gifts give off a fragrant aroma, an acceptable sacrifice that pleases God.
“Be careful that you don’t practice your religion in front of people to draw their attention. If you do, you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.“Whenever you give to the poor, don’t blow your trumpet as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets so that they may get praise from people. I assure you, that’s the only reward they’ll get.But when you give to the poor, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doingso that you may give to the poor in secret. Your Father who sees what you do in secret will reward you.
Some time later, Cain presented an offering to the LORD from the land’s cropswhile Abel presented his flock’s oldest offspring with their fat. The LORD looked favorably on Abel and his sacrificebut didn’t look favorably on Cain and his sacrifice. Cain became very angry and looked resentful.
Collect gift offerings for the LORD from all of you. Whoever freely wants to give should bring the LORD’s gift offerings: gold, silver, and copper;
When you sacrifice a communal sacrifice of thanksgiving for the LORD, you must sacrifice it so that it will be acceptable on your behalf.
Each one should have his gift in hand, in precise measure with the blessing the LORD your God gives you.
I will sacrifice to you freely; I will give thanks to your name, LORD, because it’s so good,
You don’t want sacrifices. If I gave an entirely burned offering, you wouldn’t be pleased.A broken spirit is my sacrifice, God. You won’t despise a heart, God, that is broken and crushed.

But she from her hopeless poverty has given everything she had to live on.”

A gift is appreciated because of what a person can afford, not because of what that person can’t afford, if it’s apparent that it’s done willingly.

Isn’t this the fast I choose: releasing wicked restraints, untying the ropes of a yoke, setting free the mistreated, and breaking every yoke?Isn’t it sharing your bread with the hungry and bringing the homeless poor into your house, covering the naked when you see them, and not hiding from your own family?
By faith Abel offered a better sacrifice to God than Cain, which showed that he was righteous, since God gave approval to him for his gift. Though he died, he’s still speaking through faith.

What can I give back to the LORD for all the good things he has done for me?I’ll lift up the cup of salvation. I’ll call on the LORD’s name.I’ll keep the promises I made to the LORD in the presence of all God’s people.

Those who exploit the powerless anger their maker, while those who are kind to the poor honor God.
