Think about Job, how he'd offer sacrifices for his children, worried they might have sinned. He wanted to make things right with God. It's a powerful image, isn't it?
But here's the amazing thing: you don't have to do that anymore. Jesus' sacrifice covers everything. His blood has cleansed you, forgiven you. That's a gift worth more than anything, right?
So what can you do now? How can you show your gratitude? It's not about burnt offerings anymore. It's about living a life that honors God. It's about waking up each day and choosing to walk in His will, showing love and obedience in everything you do.
That's the kind of "offering" that truly matters. A genuine heart, filled with thankfulness, radiating His love – that's what God desires most. It's like a beautiful fragrance rising up to Him.
You've already been forgiven. You've confessed Jesus as your savior. Now, turn away from anything that pulls you from Him. Embrace the good, and live each day as a testament to His grace. Live a life worthy of the One who called you out of darkness and into His marvelous light. That’s the best gift you can give.
And thou shalt sacrifice a bullock every day for reconciliation of sin; and thou shalt remove the sin from the altar, and thou shalt anoint it to sanctify it.
and walk in charity even as the Christ also has loved us and has given himself for us as an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling savour.
And when ye are praying, forgive if ye have anything against anyone, so that your Father who is in the heavens will also forgive you your trespasses.
if the priest that is anointed sins according to the guiltiness of the people, he shall offer for his sin, which he has committed, a young bullock without blemish unto the Lord for his sin.
when the sin, which they have committed, is understood, then the congregation shall offer a young bullock as the sin and bring it before the tabernacle of the testimony.
And he shall take all the fat and incense it upon the altar.Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, If a soul shall sin through ignorance against any of the commandments of the Lord concerning things which ought not to be done and shall do any of them,And he shall do with this bullock as he did with the bullock of the sin, so shall he do with this; and thus the priest shall reconcile them, and they shall obtain forgiveness.
in whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins according to the riches of his grace,which has over abounded in us in all wisdom and prudence;
And he shall do with this bullock as he did with the bullock of the sin, so shall he do with this; and thus the priest shall reconcile them, and they shall obtain forgiveness.
Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there remember that thy brother has something against thee;leave thy gift there before the altar, and go; first restore friendship with thy brother, and then come and offer thy gift.
Speak unto the sons of Israel that they bring me an offering; of every man that gives it willingly with his heart ye shall take my offering.
We have therefore brought an offering for the Lord, each man of what he has found, of vessels of gold, chains, and bracelets, rings, earrings, and tablets, to reconcile our souls before the Lord.
Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, In what have we robbed thee? In the tithes and the offerings.
¶ Judge not, and ye shall not be judged; condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned; forgive, and ye shall be forgiven;
Each one according as they purpose in their heart, so let them give, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.
Therefore, take unto you now seven bullocks and seven rams, and go to my slave Job, and offer up for yourselves a burnt offering; and my slave Job shall pray for you; for only because I will accept him, I shall not deal with you according to your folly, in that ye have not spoken by me in uprightness, like my slave Job.
Be it known unto you, therefore, men and brethren, that through this one is preached unto you the remission of sins;
And if he brings a lamb as his offering, as the sin, he shall bring a female without blemish.
Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name; bring offerings, and come into his courts.
¶ The soul who is a blessing unto others shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself.
¶ Take heed not to do your alms {lit. acts of mercy} before men, to be seen of them; otherwise, ye have no reward of your Father who is in the heavens.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.And set us free from our debts, as we set free our debtors.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.For if ye set men free from their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also set you free;but if ye do not set men free from their trespasses, neither will your Father set you free from your trespasses.¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.But thou, when thou dost fast, anoint thine head, and wash thy facethat thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who sees in secret, shall reward thee openly.¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal;Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal;for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye is sincere, thy whole body shall be full of light.But if thine eye is evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in thee is darkness, how great is that darkness!No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and riches.¶ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin;and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these.But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doethTherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith?Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?(For the Gentiles seek after all these things.) For your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things.But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the affliction thereof.that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret, he shall reward thee openly.
And all the tithes of the land, whether of the seed of the land or of the fruit of the tree, is the Lord’s; it is holiness unto the Lord.
Give unto the Lord the glory of his name; bring a present and come before him; worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
And thou shalt do the solemn feast of weeks unto the Lord thy God; out of the voluntary abundance of thy hand thou shalt give, according as the Lord thy God has blessed thee.
And when ye offer a sacrifice of peace unto the Lord, ye shall offer it of your own free will.
Each man with the gift of his hand, according to the blessing of the Lord thy God, which he shall have given thee.
That which is gone out of thy lips thou shalt keep and perform, that which thou hast promised unto the Lord thy God, that which thou hast spoken of thy free will with thy mouth.
But ye shall not offer any thing that has a blemish, for it shall not be acceptable for you.Likewise when anyone offers a sacrifice of peace unto the Lord to present his vow or a freewill offering in bovine cattle or sheep, it must be perfect to be accepted; there shall be no blemish therein.
And whoever may remain of all the places where they remained a stranger, let the men of his place help him with silver and with gold and with goods and with beasts, with freewill gifts for the house of God that is in Jerusalem.
The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
And Kore, the son of Imnah, the Levite, the porter toward the east, was over the freewill offerings of God, to distribute the offerings of the Lord and the most holy things.
ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God by Jesus, the Christ.
Thus ye also shall offer an offering unto the Lord of all your tithes, which ye shall have received of the sons of Israel; and ye shall give of them an offering unto the Lord, to Aaron the priest.
give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down and shaken together and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye measure out it shall be measured to you again.
¶ The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination; how much more, when he brings it with lewdness?
But who am I, and what is my people, that we should be able to offer so willingly after this sort? For all things come of thee and of thine own have we given thee.
Do not forget to do good and to fellowship; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal;Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal;for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.
Do not deceive yourselves; God is not mocked: for whatever a man sows that shall he also reap.
¶ And in process of time it came to pass that Cain brought of the fruit of the ground a present unto the Lord.And Abel, he also brought of the firstborn of his flock and of the fat thereof. And the Lord looked upon Abel and his present,
Charge those that are rich in this world, that they not be highminded, not placing their hope in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;but charge them to do good, that they be rich in good works, liberal to distribute, willing to communicate,laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the future, that they may lay hold on eternal life.
Either make the tree good and its fruit good, or else make the tree corrupt and its fruit corrupt; for the tree is known by its fruit.O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.The good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings forth evil things.
and brought in the offerings and the tithes and the dedicated things faithfully, over which Cononiah, the Levite, was ruler and Shimei, his brother, was second.
¶ Therefore, I beseech you brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies in living sacrifice, holy, well pleasing unto God, which is your rational worship.
For if ye set men free from their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also set you free;but if ye do not set men free from their trespasses, neither will your Father set you free from your trespasses.
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? shall the Lord say. I am full of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he goats.When ye come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts?Bring no more vain oblations; the incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot stand them; iniquity and the solemn meeting.Your new moons and your appointed feasts my soul hates: they are a trouble unto me; I am weary to bear them.And when ye spread forth your hands, I will hide my eyes from you; likewise, when ye make many prayers, I will not hear; your hands are full of blood.
forbearing one another and forgiving one another if anyone has a quarrel against another: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another even as God has forgiven you in Christ.
¶ And he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury.Then he said unto them, Gentiles shall rise against Gentiles, and kingdom against kingdom;and there shall be great earthquakes in different places and famines and pestilences, and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven.But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake.And it shall turn out to you for a testimony.Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate before what ye shall answer;for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist.And ye shall be betrayed both by parents and brethren and kinsfolk and friends, and some of you they shall cause to be put to death.And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake.But not a hair of your head shall perish.In your patience ye shall possess your souls.And he saw also a certain poor widow casting two mites in there.¶ And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is near.Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and let those who are in the midst of it depart out, and let not those that are in the country enter thereinto.For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.But woe unto those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.And they shall fall by the edge of the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.Then there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.And then they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory.And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near.¶ And he spoke unto them a parable: Behold the fig tree and all the trees;And he said, Of a truth I say unto you that this poor widow has cast in more than they all;when they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now near at hand.So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is near at hand.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away until all is fulfilled.The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with excess and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares.For as a snare it shall come on all those that dwell on the face of the whole earth.Watch ye therefore and pray always that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of man.And in the daytime he was teaching in the temple, and at night he went out and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives.And all the people came unto him early in the morning to hear him in the temple.for all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God, but she out of her poverty has cast in all the living that she had.
Take heed to yourselves: If thy brother should trespass against thee, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.Even thus shall it be in the day when the Son of man is revealed.In that day, he who shall be upon the housetop and his stuff in the house, let him not come down to take it away; and he that is in the field, let him likewise not turn back.Remember Lot’s wife.Whosoever shall seek to save his soul shall lose it, and whosoever shall lose it shall cause it to live.I tell you in that night there shall be two men in one bed: the one shall be taken, and the other shall be left.Two women shall be grinding together: the one shall be taken, and the other left.Two men shall be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.And they answered and said unto him, Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Where the body is, there will the eagles be gathered together.And if he trespasses against thee seven times in a day and seven times in a day turns again to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgive him.
¶ Then Peter came to him and said, Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me and I forgive him? until seven times?Jesus said unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times, but, Until seventy times seven.
Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, and there shall be food in my house, and prove me now in this, said the Lord of the hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven and pour you out a blessing that there shall not be room enough to receive it.
¶ Accept, I beseech thee, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O Lord, and teach me thy judgments.
He has not dealt with us after our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.For as the heavens are high above the earth so does he increase his mercy over those that fear him.As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our rebellions from us.
And if thou wilt make me an altar of stone, thou shalt not build it of hewn stone; for if thou lift up thy tool upon it, thou hast polluted it.
¶ There are those who scatter, and more is added unto them; and there are those who withhold more than is just, but come to poverty.¶ The soul who is a blessing unto others shall be made fat, and he that fills shall be filled also himself.
Then come, shall the Lord say, and we shall be even; if your sins were as scarlet, they shall be made as white as snow; if they were red like crimson, they shall become as wool.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
If thou, O Lord, should mark iniquities, O Lord, who shall endure?Therefore there is forgiveness close to thee, that thou may be feared.
And whatever ye do whether in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to the God and Father by him.
For if there is first a willing desire, it is accepted according to what a person has and not according to what they do not have.
But God increased the price of his charity toward us in that while we were yet sinners the Christ died for us.
Then Jesus said, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.
But I have all and abound; I am full, having received of Epaphroditus the things which were sent from you, an odour of a sweet smell, a sacrifice acceptable, wellpleasing to God.
Repent ye therefore and be converted that your sins may be blotted out, for the times of refreshing of the presence of the Lord are come;
¶ Therefore, all things whatsoever ye desire that men should do unto you, so also shall ye do unto them, for this is the law and the prophets.
For it has pleased those of Macedonia and Achaia to make a certain contribution for the poor saints who are in Jerusalem.It has pleased them verily, and they are their debtors. For if the Gentiles have been made partakers of their spiritual things, they should also minister unto them in carnal things.
Each first sabbath let each one of you set aside in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no collections when I come.
I have showed you in all things how that so labouring, ye ought to support the weak and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, It is more blessed to give than to receive.
By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips confessing his name.Do not forget to do good and to fellowship; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
