64 Bible Verses about Bad Offering

64 Bible Verses about Bad Offering

When you choose to live without God, it's easy to lose that awareness of Him and start making choices that aren't aligned with His ways. Maybe you haven't truly encountered Him yet. Our hearts can be so deceitful, always looking for ways to satisfy our own twisted desires, driven by that inner restlessness.

The only way to live a righteous life is to keep God's word close to your heart and follow His will. That's how genuine goodness grows from deep within.

God isn't pleased when offerings are misused. They should be used to grow His work and spread the Gospel to everyone, fulfilling the command He gave us. Prayer is key to making sure your offerings are used the right way and that you're following God's leading.

Luke 21:1-4

He looked up and saw the rich people who were putting their gifts into the treasury. Then he said to them, “Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven. But before all these things, they will lay their hands on you and will persecute you, delivering you up to synagogues and prisons, bringing you before kings and governors for my name’s sake.It will turn out as a testimony for you.Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate beforehand how to answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries will not be able to withstand or to contradict. You will be handed over even by parents, brothers, relatives, and friends. They will cause some of you to be put to death. You will be hated by all men for my name’s sake. And not a hair of your head will perish.“By your endurance you will win your lives. He saw a certain poor widow casting in two small brass coins.“But when you see Jerusalem surrounded by armies, then know that its desolation is at hand. Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. Let those who are in the middle of her depart. Let those who are in the country not enter therein. For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.Woe to those who are pregnant and to those who nurse infants in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath to this people. They will fall by the edge of the sword, and will be led captive into all the nations. Jerusalem will be trampled down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.“There will be signs in the sun, moon, and stars; and on the earth anxiety of nations, in perplexity for the roaring of the sea and the waves;men fainting for fear and for expectation of the things which are coming on the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. Then they will see the Son of Man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. But when these things begin to happen, look up and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”He told them a parable. “See the fig tree and all the trees. He said, “Truly I tell you, this poor widow put in more than all of them,When they are already budding, you see it and know by your own selves that the summer is already near.Even so you also, when you see these things happening, know that God’s Kingdom is near. Most certainly I tell you, this generation will not pass away until all things are accomplished.Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will by no means pass away.“So be careful, or your hearts will be loaded down with carousing, drunkenness, and cares of this life, and that day will come on you suddenly. For it will come like a snare on all those who dwell on the surface of all the earth. Therefore be watchful all the time, praying that you may be counted worthy to escape all these things that will happen, and to stand before the Son of Man.”Every day Yeshua was teaching in the temple, and every night he would go out and spend the night on the mountain that is called Olivet. All the people came early in the morning to him in the temple to hear him.for all these put in gifts for God from their abundance, but she, out of her poverty, put in all that she had to live on.”

Matthew 6:1-4

“Be careful that you don’t do your charitable giving before men, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.Give us today our daily bread.Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.’ “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you don’t forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.“Moreover when you fast, don’t be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces that they may be seen by men to be fasting. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward. But you, when you fast, anoint your head and wash your face,so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret; and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.“Don’t lay up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and rust consume, and where thieves break through and steal; Therefore, when you do merciful deeds, don’t sound a shofar before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from men. Most certainly I tell you, they have received their reward.but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust consume, and where thieves don’t break through and steal;for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.“The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eye is evil, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness!“No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You can’t serve both God and Mammon. Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing?See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they?“Which of you by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But when you do merciful deeds, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand does,But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith?“Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient.so that your merciful deeds may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-2

Guard your steps when you go to God’s house; for to draw near to listen is better than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they don’t know that they do evil.He who loves silver shall not be satisfied with silver, nor he who loves abundance, with increase. This also is vanity. When goods increase, those who eat them are increased; and what advantage is there to its owner, except to feast on them with his eyes? The sleep of a laboring man is sweet, whether he eats little or much; but the abundance of the rich will not allow him to sleep. There is a grievous evil which I have seen under the sun: wealth kept by its owner to his harm. Those riches perish by misfortune, and if he has fathered a son, there is nothing in his hand.As he came out of his mother’s womb, naked shall he go again as he came, and shall take nothing for his labor, which he may carry away in his hand. This also is a grievous evil, that in all points as he came, so shall he go. And what profit does he have who labors for the wind? All his days he also eats in darkness, he is frustrated, and has sickness and wrath.Behold, that which I have seen to be good and proper is for one to eat and to drink, and to enjoy good in all his labor, in which he labors under the sun, all the days of his life which God has given him; for this is his portion.Every man also to whom God has given riches and wealth, and has given him power to eat of it, and to take his portion, and to rejoice in his labor—this is the gift of God.Don’t be rash with your mouth, and don’t let your heart be hasty to utter anything before God; for God is in heaven, and you on earth. Therefore let your words be few.

Acts 5:1-4

But a certain man named Hananiah, with Shappirah his wife, sold a possession,She fell down immediately at his feet and died. The young men came in and found her dead, and they carried her out and buried her by her husband.Great fear came on the whole assembly, and on all who heard these things.By the hands of the emissaries many signs and wonders were done among the people. They were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch.None of the rest dared to join them; however, the people honored them.More believers were added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women. They even carried out the sick into the streets and laid them on cots and mattresses, so that as Peter came by, at least his shadow might overshadow some of them. The multitude also came together from the cities around Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits; and they were all healed. But the high priest rose up, and all those who were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees), and they were filled with jealousyand laid hands on the emissaries, then put them in public custody. But an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors by night, and brought them out and said, and kept back part of the price, his wife also being aware of it, then brought a certain part and laid it at the emissaries’ feet.“Go stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life.”When they heard this, they entered into the temple about daybreak and taught. But the high priest and those who were with him came and called the council together, with all the senate of the children of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. But the officers who came didn’t find them in the prison. They returned and reported,“We found the prison shut and locked, and the guards standing before the doors, but when we opened them, we found no one inside!”Now when the high priest, the captain of the temple, and the chief priests heard these words, they were very perplexed about them and what might become of this. One came and told them, “Behold, the men whom you put in prison are in the temple, standing and teaching the people.”Then the captain went with the officers, and brought them without violence, for they were afraid that the people might stone them. When they had brought them, they set them before the council. The high priest questioned them, saying, “Didn’t we strictly command you not to teach in this name? Behold, you have filled Jerusalem with your teaching, and intend to bring this man’s blood on us.”But Peter and the emissaries answered, “We must obey God rather than men.But Peter said, “Hananiah, why has Satan filled your heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to keep back part of the price of the land? The God of our fathers raised up Yeshua, whom you killed, hanging him on a tree.God exalted him with his right hand to be a Prince and a Savior, to give repentance to Israel, and remission of sins.We are his witnesses of these things; and so also is the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those who obey him.”But they, when they heard this, were cut to the heart, and were determined to kill them. But one stood up in the council, a Pharisee named Gamaliel, a teacher of the Torah, honored by all the people, and commanded to put the emissaries out for a little while. He said to them, “You men of Israel, be careful concerning these men, what you are about to do.For before these days Todah rose up, making himself out to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves. He was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were dispersed and came to nothing. After this man, Judah of Galilee rose up in the days of the enrollment, and drew away some people after him. He also perished, and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered abroad. Now I tell you, withdraw from these men and leave them alone. For if this counsel or this work is of men, it will be overthrown. But if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow it, and you would be found even to be fighting against God!”While you kept it, didn’t it remain your own? After it was sold, wasn’t it in your power? How is it that you have conceived this thing in your heart? You haven’t lied to men, but to God.”

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Charge those who are rich in this present age that they not be arrogant, nor have their hope set on the uncertainty of riches, but on the living God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy;that they do good, that they be rich in good works, that they be ready to distribute, willing to share;laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold of eternal life.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, all glory and honor to You. In Jesus' name, I come before You acknowledging that You are the Owner and Creator of everything. You've entrusted me to be a steward of my family, health, job, possessions, and finances, and I don't want to misuse what is Yours. Lord, please help me to be a good steward and faithful in my tithes and offerings. Help me to always remember that a tenth of everything I receive isn't mine, but Yours. Father, I don't want to fail You, or be a thief, or be under a curse for stealing what belongs to You. Teach me to have a grateful heart and to give my tithes and offerings freely and thankfully for all I've received from Your hand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
