When you choose to live without God, it's easy to lose that awareness of Him and start making choices that aren't aligned with His ways. Maybe you haven't truly encountered Him yet. Our hearts can be so deceitful, always looking for ways to satisfy our own twisted desires, driven by that inner restlessness.
The only way to live a righteous life is to keep God's word close to your heart and follow His will. That's how genuine goodness grows from deep within.
God isn't pleased when offerings are misused. They should be used to grow His work and spread the Gospel to everyone, fulfilling the command He gave us. Prayer is key to making sure your offerings are used the right way and that you're following God's leading.
And, Whosoever shall swear by the altar, it is nothing; but whosoever swears by the gift that is upon it, he is a debtor.Ye fools and blind, for which one is greater, the gift or the altar that sanctifies the gift?
And ye shall not walk in the practices of the Gentiles which I shall cast out before you; for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.But I have said unto you, Ye shall possess their land, and I will give it unto you in possession of inheritance, a land that flows with milk and honey. ¶ The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination; how much more, when he brings it with lewdness?

Ye shall offer them besides the continual burnt offering and its presents and their drink offerings; they shall be unto you without blemish.
To what purpose is the multitude of your sacrifices unto me? shall the Lord say. I am full of the burnt offerings of rams and the fat of fed beasts; and I do not delight in the blood of bullocks or of lambs or of he goats.When ye come to appear before me, who has required this at your hand, to tread my courts?Bring no more vain oblations; the incense is an abomination unto me; the new moons and sabbaths, the calling of assemblies, I cannot stand them; iniquity and the solemn meeting.

To what purpose does this incense come to me from Sheba and the sweet cane from a far country? Your burnt offerings are not according to my will, nor are your sacrifices sweet unto me.
This people draws nigh unto me with their mouth and honours me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.But in vain do they worship me, teaching doctrines and commandments of men.
Do not forget to do good and to fellowship; for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.
¶ I hate, I despise your solemnities, and I will not savour your assemblies.Though ye offer me your burnt offerings and your presents, I will not accept them; neither will I regard the peace offerings of your fat beasts.Take away from me the noise of thy songs; for I will not hear the melody of thy instruments.
¶ The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is his delight.
¶ With what shall I present myself before the Lord, and how shall I worship the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old?Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my rebellion, the fruit of my bowels for the sin of my soul?He has declared unto thee, O man, what is good and what the Lord requires of thee: only to do right judgment, and to love mercy, and to humble thyself to walk with thy God.
¶ Take heed not to do your alms {lit. acts of mercy} before men, to be seen of them; otherwise, ye have no reward of your Father who is in the heavens.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread.And set us free from our debts, as we set free our debtors.And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.For if ye set men free from their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also set you free;but if ye do not set men free from their trespasses, neither will your Father set you free from your trespasses.¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear unto men to fast. For thou dost not desire sacrifice or else would I give it; thou dost not delight in burnt offering.The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise.
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye pay tithe of mint and anise and cummin and have omitted that which is more important of the law: judgment, mercy, and faith; these were expedient for ye to have done, and not to leave the other undone.

¶ And with Jesus sitting in front of the ark of the offering, he beheld how the people cast money into the ark and many that were rich cast in much.And as there came a certain poor widow, she threw in two mites, which make a farthing.Then calling his disciples, he said unto them, Verily I say unto you that this poor widow has cast more in than all those who have cast into the treasury,for they all did cast in of their abundance, but she of her want did cast in all that she had, even all her living.
ye also, as living stones, are built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, well pleasing to God by Jesus, the Christ.

¶ Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of the heavens, but he that doeth the will of my Father who is in the heavens.
And he said unto them, Take heed and beware of all covetousness; for a man’s life consists not in the abundance of the things which he possesses.
¶ By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God testifying of his gifts, and by it he being dead yet speaks.
Each first sabbath let each one of you set aside in store, as God has prospered him, that there be no collections when I come.
For as many as are of the works of the law are under the curse; for it is written, Cursed is every one that continues not in all things which are written in the book of the law to do them.
