64 Bible Verses about Bad Offering

64 Bible Verses about Bad Offering

When you choose to live without God, it's easy to lose that awareness of Him and start making choices that aren't aligned with His ways. Maybe you haven't truly encountered Him yet. Our hearts can be so deceitful, always looking for ways to satisfy our own twisted desires, driven by that inner restlessness.

The only way to live a righteous life is to keep God's word close to your heart and follow His will. That's how genuine goodness grows from deep within.

God isn't pleased when offerings are misused. They should be used to grow His work and spread the Gospel to everyone, fulfilling the command He gave us. Prayer is key to making sure your offerings are used the right way and that you're following God's leading.

I AM your God, who have separated you from the other peoples. Therefore, ye shall differentiate between clean animals and unclean and between unclean fowls and clean; and ye shall not defile your persons by animals or by fowl or by any manner of living thing that moves on the ground which I have separated from you as unclean.

Luke 21:1-4

¶ And he looked up and saw the rich casting their gifts into the treasury. Then he said unto them, Gentiles shall rise against Gentiles, and kingdom against kingdom;and there shall be great earthquakes in different places and famines and pestilences, and there shall be fearful sights and great signs from heaven. But before all these, they shall lay their hands on you and persecute you, delivering you up to the synagogues and into prisons, being brought before kings and governors for my name’s sake. And it shall turn out to you for a testimony.Settle it therefore in your hearts not to meditate before what ye shall answer;for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all your adversaries shall not be able to gainsay nor resist. And ye shall be betrayed both by parents and brethren and kinsfolk and friends, and some of you they shall cause to be put to death. And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake. But not a hair of your head shall perish. In your patience ye shall possess your souls. And he saw also a certain poor widow casting two mites in there.¶ And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is near. Then let those who are in Judaea flee to the mountains, and let those who are in the midst of it depart out, and let not those that are in the country enter thereinto. For these are days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe unto those that are with child and to those that give suck in those days! For there shall be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they shall fall by the edge of the sword and shall be led away captive into all nations, and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled. Then there shall be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars, and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring;men’s hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then they shall see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up and lift up your heads, for your redemption draws near.¶ And he spoke unto them a parable: Behold the fig tree and all the trees; And he said, Of a truth I say unto you that this poor widow has cast in more than they all;when they now shoot forth, ye see and know of your own selves that summer is now near at hand.So likewise ye, when ye see these things come to pass, know ye that the kingdom of God is near at hand.Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away until all is fulfilled. The heaven and the earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with excess and drunkenness and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare it shall come on all those that dwell on the face of the whole earth.Watch ye therefore and pray always that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass and to stand before the Son of man.And in the daytime he was teaching in the temple, and at night he went out and abode in the mount that is called the mount of Olives. And all the people came unto him early in the morning to hear him in the temple.for all these have of their abundance cast in unto the offerings of God, but she out of her poverty has cast in all the living that she had.

Matthew 6:1-4

¶ Take heed not to do your alms {lit. acts of mercy} before men, to be seen of them; otherwise, ye have no reward of your Father who is in the heavens.Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.Give us this day our daily bread. And set us free from our debts, as we set free our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, for thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. For if ye set men free from their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also set you free;but if ye do not set men free from their trespasses, neither will your Father set you free from your trespasses.¶ Moreover when ye fast, be not, as the hypocrites, of a sad countenance, for they disfigure their faces that they may appear unto men to fast. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward. But thou, when thou dost fast, anoint thine head, and wash thy facethat thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father who is in secret; and thy Father, who sees in secret, shall reward thee openly.¶ Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon the earth, where moth and rust corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal; Therefore, when thou doest thine alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They already have their reward.but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust corrupt and where thieves do not break through nor steal;for where your treasure is, there will your heart be also. The lamp of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye is sincere, thy whole body shall be full of light. But if thine eye is evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If, therefore, the light that is in thee is darkness, how great is that darkness! No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other or else he will hold to the one and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and riches.¶ Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than food, and the body than raiment?Behold the fowls of the air, for they sow not, neither do they reap nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are ye not much better than they?Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature? And why take ye thought for raiment? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they toil not, neither do they spin;and yet I say unto you, That even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But when thou doest alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doethTherefore, if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is and tomorrow is cast into the oven, shall he not much more clothe you, O ye of little faith? Therefore take no thought, saying, What shall we eat? or, What shall we drink? or, With what shall we be clothed?(For the Gentiles seek after all these things.) For your heavenly Father knows that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.Take therefore no thought for the morrow, for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the affliction thereof.that thine alms may be in secret; and thy Father who sees in secret, he shall reward thee openly.

Ecclesiastes 5:1-2

¶ Watch thy feet when thou goest to the house of God and draw near with more willingness to hear than to give the sacrifice of fools, for they do not know how to do what God wants. He that loves money shall not be satisfied with money; nor he that loves abundance with increase; this is also vanity. When goods increase, those that eat them are increased; and what good is there to the owners thereof, except the beholding of them with their eyes? The sleep of the servant is sweet whether he eats little or much, but the abundance of the rich will not suffer him to sleep. There is another sore evil which I have seen under the sun, namely, riches kept for the owners thereof to their hurt;which are lost by evil pursuits and to the sons which he has begotten; there is nothing left in his hand.As he came forth of his mother’s womb, naked shall he return to go as he came and shall take nothing of his labour, which he may carry away in his hand. And this also is a sore evil; that in all points as he came, so shall he go; and what profit has he that has laboured for the wind?In addition to this, all the days of his life he shall eat in darkness, with much wrath and pain and sorrow sickness.¶ Behold therefore the good which I have seen: that good is to eat and to drink and to enjoy of the good of all his labour that he takes under the sun all the days of his life, which God gives him; for it is his portion.Likewise, unto every man to whom God has given riches and wealth, he has also given him power to eat thereof and to take his portion and to rejoice in his labour; this is the gift of God.Do not be rash with thy mouth and do not let thy heart be hasty to utter any thing before God, for God is in heaven and thou upon earth; therefore let thy words be few.

Acts 5:1-4

¶ But a certain man named Ananias, with Sapphira his wife, sold a possessionThen she fell down straightway at his feet and yielded up the spirit; and the young men came in and found her dead and, carrying her forth, buried her by her husband. And great fear came upon all the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} and upon as many as heard these things.¶ And by the hands of the apostles many signs and wonders were wrought in the people. (And they were all with one accord in Solomon’s porch. And of the others, no one dared join themself to them, but the people magnified them. And those that believed in the Lord increased in number, multitudes both of men and women.)So much that they brought forth the sick into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at the least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them. There came also a multitude out of the cities round about unto Jerusalem, bringing sick folks and those who were tormented with unclean spirits, and they were healed every one.¶ Then the prince of the priests rose up, and all those that were with him (which is the sect of the Sadducees) were filled with jealousyand laid their hands on the apostles and put them in the common prison. But the angel of the Lord by night opened the prison doors and brought them forth and said, and defrauded of the price, his wife also being aware of it, and brought a certain part and laid it at the apostles’ feet.Go, stand and speak in the temple to the people all the words of this life. And when they heard that, they entered into the temple early in the morning and taught. In the meantime, the prince of the priests came, and those that were with him, and called the council together and all the elders of the sons of Israel, and sent to the prison to have them brought. But when the officers came and found them not in the prison, they returned and told, saying, We certainly found the prison shut with all security and the keepers standing outside before the doors, but when we had opened, we found no one within. Now when the high priest and the captain of the temple and the princes of the priests heard these things, they were perplexed regarding what this would come to.Then someone came and told them, saying, Behold, the men whom ye put in prison are standing in the temple and teaching the people.¶ Then the captain with the officers went and brought them without violence, for they feared being stoned by the people. And when they had brought them, they set them before the council, and the prince of the priests asked them, saying, Did we not strictly command you that ye should not teach in this name? and, behold, ye have filled Jerusalem with your doctrine and intend to bring this man’s blood upon us.Then Peter and the other apostles answered and said, We must persuade God rather than men.But Peter said, Ananias, why has Satan filled thy heart to lie to the Holy Spirit and to defraud of the price of the land? The God of our fathers raised up Jesus, whom ye slew, hanging him on a tree.God has exalted him with his right hand as Prince and Saviour, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins. And we are his witnesses of these things, and so is also the Holy Spirit, whom God has given to those that persuade him. When they heard that, they were divided and took counsel to slay them. Then a Pharisee, named Gamaliel, a doctor of the law, who had a reputation among all the people, stood up in the council and commanded to put the apostles forth a little spaceand said unto them, Ye men of Israel, take heed to yourselves what ye intend to do as concerning these men.For before these days, rose up Theudas, boasting himself to be somebody; to whom a number of men, about four hundred, joined themselves; who was slain; and all, as many as obeyed him, were scattered and brought to nought. After this man rose up Judas of Galilee in the days of the taxing and drew away many people after him; he also perished, and all those that consented with him were dispersed. And now I say unto you, Refrain from these men and let them alone; for if this counsellor or this work is of men, it will come to nought, but if it is of God, ye cannot overthrow it; lest ye be found fighting against God.Retaining it, was it not thy own? and after it was sold, was it not in thine own power? Why hast thou conceived this thing in thy heart? Thou hast not lied unto men, but unto God.

1 Timothy 6:17-19

Charge those that are rich in this world, that they not be highminded, not placing their hope in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who gives us richly all things to enjoy;but charge them to do good, that they be rich in good works, liberal to distribute, willing to communicate, laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the future, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, all glory and honor to You. In Jesus' name, I come before You acknowledging that You are the Owner and Creator of everything. You've entrusted me to be a steward of my family, health, job, possessions, and finances, and I don't want to misuse what is Yours. Lord, please help me to be a good steward and faithful in my tithes and offerings. Help me to always remember that a tenth of everything I receive isn't mine, but Yours. Father, I don't want to fail You, or be a thief, or be under a curse for stealing what belongs to You. Teach me to have a grateful heart and to give my tithes and offerings freely and thankfully for all I've received from Your hand. In Jesus' name, Amen.
