When you choose to live without God, it's easy to lose that awareness of Him and start making choices that aren't aligned with His ways. Maybe you haven't truly encountered Him yet. Our hearts can be so deceitful, always looking for ways to satisfy our own twisted desires, driven by that inner restlessness.
The only way to live a righteous life is to keep God's word close to your heart and follow His will. That's how genuine goodness grows from deep within.
God isn't pleased when offerings are misused. They should be used to grow His work and spread the Gospel to everyone, fulfilling the command He gave us. Prayer is key to making sure your offerings are used the right way and that you're following God's leading.
You blind ones: which is greater, the offering, or the altar which makes the offering holy?He, then, who takes an oath by the altar, takes it by the altar and by all things on it.
And do not keep the rules of the nations which I am driving out before you; for they did all these things, and for that reason my soul was turned against them.But I have said to you, You will take their land and I will give it to you for your heritage, a land flowing with milk and honey: I am the Lord your God who have made you separate from all other peoples.So then, make division between the clean beast and the unclean, and between the clean bird and the unclean: do not make yourselves disgusting by any beast or bird or anything which goes flat on the earth, which has been marked by me as unclean for you.

And he made this story for some people who were certain that they were good, and had a low opinion of others:Two men went up to the Temple for prayer; one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-farmer.The Pharisee, taking up his position, said to himself these words: God, I give you praise because I am not like other men, who take more than their right, who are evil-doers, who are untrue to their wives, or even like this tax-farmer.Twice in the week I go without food; I give a tenth of all I have.The tax-farmer, on the other hand, keeping far away, and not lifting up even his eyes to heaven, made signs of grief and said, God, have mercy on me, a sinner.I say to you, This man went back to his house with God's approval, and not the other: for everyone who makes himself high will be made low and whoever makes himself low will be made high.
Let every man do after the purpose of his heart; not giving with grief, or by force: for God takes pleasure in a ready giver.
Will a man keep back from God what is right? But you have kept back what is mine. But you say, What have we kept back from you? Tenths and offerings.
If then you are making an offering at the altar and there it comes to your mind that your brother has something against you,While your offering is still before the altar, first go and make peace with your brother, then come and make your offering.

And Samuel said, Has the Lord as much delight in offerings and burned offerings as in the doing of his orders? Truly, to do his pleasure is better than to make offerings, and to give ear to him than the fat of sheep.
The offering of evil-doers is disgusting: how much more when they give it with an evil purpose!
Let your lamb be without a mark, a male in its first year: you may take it from among the sheep or the goats:
These are in addition to the regular burned offering and its meal offering; take care that they are without any mark, and let them be offered with their drink offerings.

To what purpose does sweet perfume come to me from Sheba, and spices from a far country? your burned offerings give me no pleasure, your offerings of beasts are not pleasing to me.
These people give me honour with their lips, but their heart is far from me.But their worship is to no purpose, while they give as their teaching the rules of men.
But go on doing good and giving to others, because God is well-pleased with such offerings.
