Think about this: God created everything. The earth, the sky, the whole world—it all belongs to Him. He made it all, just like Exodus 20:11 says: "For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and rested the seventh day. Therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and hallowed it." He created it all perfectly, and He deserves all the praise for the amazing things He's done.
You know, we should really stand in awe of God and give Him glory. The time is coming when He will judge the world, so let's worship the One who made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and the springs of water.
When you're out enjoying nature – at the beach, in the mountains, or just looking at a beautiful tree – remember who made it all so beautiful and perfect. Let's give God all the glory He deserves.
A righteous man tends to the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel.
Then God said, “Let Us make man in Our image, after Our likeness, and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the birds of the air, and over the livestock, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the cultivation of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth,
Look at the birds of the air, for they do not sow, nor do they reap, nor gather into barns. Yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much better than they?
If you see the donkey of someone who hates you lying under its burden, you must not ignore it; you must surely help him with it.
Your righteousness is like the great mountains, Your judgments are like the great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast.
but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work, you, or your son, or your daughter, or your male servant, or your female servant, or your livestock, or your sojourner who is within your gates.
The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the bull, and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, says the Lord.
Go to the ant, you sluggard; consider her ways and be wise,which, having no guide, overseer, or ruler,provides her food in the summer and gathers her sustenance in the harvest.
O Lord, how manifold are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all. The earth is full of Your possessions.
On that day, I will make a covenant for them with the beasts of the field, with the fowls of heaven, and with the creeping things of the ground. I will break the bow and the sword and the battle from the earth, and will make them to lie down safely.
Should I not, therefore, be concerned about Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than one hundred and twenty thousand people, who do not know their right hand from their left, and also many animals?”
If you happen to notice a bird’s nest along the way, in any tree or on the ground, whether they be young ones or eggs, and the mother is sitting on the young or on the eggs, you are not to take the mother from the young.You must certainly let the mother go, but you may take the young for yourself, so that it may be well with you, and that you may prolong your days.
For six days you are to do your work, but on the seventh day you must cease, so that your ox and your donkey may rest, and the son of your female servant and the foreigner may refresh themselves.
The wolf also shall dwell with the lamb, and the leopard shall lie down with the young goat, and the calf and the young lion and the fatling together; and a little child shall lead them.
and for your livestock, and for the wild animals in your land, shall all its increase be food.
Who provides for the raven his food when his young ones cry unto God, and they wander about for lack of food?
but in the seventh year you shall let it rest and lie fallow, so that the poor of your people may eat, and what they leave the beasts of the field may eat. You shall do likewise with your vineyard and with your olive grove.
You must not eat of anything that dies of itself, but you may give it to the foreigner that is in your gates, so that he may eat it, or you may sell it to a foreigner, for you are a holy people to the Lord your God. You shall not boil a young goat in its mother’s milk.
For every beast of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.I know all the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
He shall feed His flock like a shepherd; He shall gather the lambs with His arm, and carry them in His bosom, and shall gently lead those that are with young.
You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever travels the paths of the seas.
Then He said, “Which of you having a donkey or an ox that has fallen into a pit will not immediately pull him out on the Sabbath day?”
The beast of the field shall honor Me, the jackals and the owls, because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen ones.
and went to him and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine. Then he set him on his own donkey and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
For it is written in the Law of Moses, “You shall not muzzle the mouth of the ox while it treads out the grain.” Is God concerned about oxen?
Not for your sacrifices will I rebuke you; your burnt offerings are continually before Me.I will not accept a young bull from your house, or goats from your folds.
For there is an event for people and an event for animals, one fate for them both; as one dies, so does the other; there is one breath for all of them. There is no advantage for people over animals, for everything is vanity.
There shall the tree snake make its nest and lay eggs, and it shall hatch and gather them under its protection; yes, there shall the vultures also be gathered, every one with its kind.
He said to them, “What man is there among you who has one sheep, and if it falls into a pit on the Sabbath, will not lay hold of it and lift it out?Then how much better is a man than a sheep? Therefore, it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
“Do you know the time when the wild mountain goats produce offspring? Or can you observe when the deer gives birth?
who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow on the mountains.
The cow and the bear shall graze; their young ones shall lie down together; and the lion shall eat straw like the ox.
If a man opens a pit or if a man digs a pit and does not cover it, and an ox or a donkey falls into it,the owner of the pit must make restitution. He must give money to their owner, and the dead animal will be his.
I will feed them in a good pasture, and upon the high mountains of Israel their grazing ground shall be. There they shall lie on good grazing ground, and in a rich pasture they shall feed upon the mountains of Israel.
Out of the ground the Lord God formed every beast of the field and every bird of the sky, and brought them to the man to see what he would call them. Whatever the man called every living creature, that was its name.
Consider the ravens: They neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouses nor barns. Yet God feeds them. How much more valuable are you than birds?
God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the air and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
I will abandon you to the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers; you shall fall upon the open field; you shall not be brought together or gathered. I have given you for food to the beasts of the field and to the fowl of the heavens.
They shall not hurt or destroy in all My holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea.
How excellent is Your lovingkindness, O God! Therefore mankind seeks refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
who teaches us more than the beasts of the earth, and makes us wiser than the birds of heaven?’
but those who wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles, they shall run and not be weary, and they shall walk and not faint.
Even the sparrow has found a home, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, at Your altars, O Lord of Hosts, my King and my God.
God remembered Noah and every living thing and all the livestock that were with him in the ark. So God made a wind to pass over the earth, and the water receded.
The angel of the Lord said to him, “Why have you struck your donkey these three times? Behold, I have come out to oppose you, because your way is perverse before Me.And the donkey saw Me and turned from Me these three times. If she had not turned from Me, surely by now I would have slain you and saved her alive.”
Bring every living thing of all flesh, two of every kind, into the ark to keep them alive with you. They shall be male and female.the sons of God saw that the daughters of men were fair and took as wives any they chose.Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal, and of every kind of creeping thing of the earth will come to you to be kept alive.
You are not to see your brother’s donkey or his ox fall down by the way and hide yourself from them. You certainly must help him to lift them up.
Likewise you must do the same with your oxen and with your sheep. Seven days it shall remain with its mother, but on the eighth day you must give it to Me.

Speak to the Israelites, saying: These are the living things which you shall eat among all the animals that are on the earth.All flying insects that walk, moving on all fours, shall be detestable to you.Yet these you may eat of every flying insect that creeps on all fours: those that have jointed legs above their feet with which to hop on the ground.Even of these you may eat: the locust of any kind, the bald locust of any kind, the cricket of any kind, and the grasshopper of any kind.But all other flying insects that have four feet shall be detestable to you.And by these you shall be unclean. Whoever touches the carcass of these shall be unclean until the evening.Whoever carries any of the carcasses of these shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening.The carcass of every animal that divides the hoof, but is not completely split-hoofed, nor chews the cud, is unclean to you. Everyone who touches them shall be unclean.Whatever animal that walks on its paws, among all manner of animals that go on all fours, those are unclean to you. Whoever touches their carcass shall be unclean until the evening.He who carries the carcass of these shall wash his clothes and be unclean until the evening; they are unclean to you.These also shall be unclean to you among the crawling things that move on the ground: the mole rat, the mouse, and the great lizard of any kind,Whatever animal has a parted hoof (that is, split-hoofed), and chews the cud among the animals, that one you shall eat.
You must not see your brother’s ox or his sheep go astray and hide yourself from them. You must certainly bring them back to your brother.
Four things on earth are little, but they are exceedingly wise:the ants are a people not strong, yet they store up their food in the summer;
Take with you seven each of every clean animal, the male and its female, and two each of every unclean animal, the male and its female,The waters prevailed upward and the mountains were covered fifteen cubits deep.All flesh that moved on the earth died: birds and livestock and beasts, and every creeping thing that crept on the earth, and every man.All in whose nostrils was the breath of life, all that was on the dry land, died.So He blotted out every living thing which was on the face of the ground, both man and animals and the creeping things and the birds of the heavens. They were blotted out from the earth, and only Noah and those who were with him in the ark remained alive.The waters prevailed on the earth for one hundred and fifty days.and seven each of birds of the air, the male and female, to keep offspring alive on the face of all the earth.
that you shall set apart to the Lord the first offspring of every womb and the first offspring of every beast which you have. The males shall be the Lord’s.
but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God. On it you shall not do any work: you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor the foreigner that is within your gates, so that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you.
And she gave birth to her firstborn Son, and wrapped Him in strips of cloth, and laid Him in a manger, because there was no space for them in the guest room.
what is man that You are mindful of him, and the son of man that You attend to him?For You have made him a little lower than the angels, and crowned him with glory and honor.You have given him dominion over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under his feet,all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,the birds of the air, and the fish of the sea, and whatever travels the paths of the seas.
Every moving thing that lives will be food for you. I give you everything, just as I gave you the green plant.“Only you shall not eat flesh with its life, that is, its blood.
“Have you given the horse strength? Have you clothed his neck with thunder?Can you number the months that they fulfill, or do you know the time when they bring forth?Can you make him afraid like a grasshopper? The glory of his nostrils is awesome.He paws in the valley and rejoices in his strength; he goes on to meet the armed men.He mocks at fear and is not frightened, nor does he turn back from the sword.The quiver rattles against him, the glittering spear and the shield.He devours the distance with fierceness and rage, and he does not stand still at the sound of the trumpet.At the sound of the trumpet he says, ‘Aha’; he smells the battle afar off, the thunder of the captains, and the shouting.
You shall keep My statutes. You shall not let your livestock breed with a different kind. You shall not sow your field with mixed seed, nor shall your garment be mixed from two types of fabric.
Three things are majestic in their walk, four which are majestic in their stride:I have not learned wisdom, nor have I attained the knowledge of the Holy One.the lion, which is mightiest among beasts, and does not turn away from anything;the strutting rooster, the he-goat, and a king whose army is with him.
Who has experienced the spirit of people ascending above, or the spirit of animals descending below the earth?”
Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds: livestock, and creeping things, and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.
For the life of every creature is its blood; in its blood is its life. Therefore I said to the Israelites: You shall not eat the blood of any creature, for the life of every creature is its blood. Whoever eats it shall be cut off.
He who kills a bull is as if he kills a man; he who sacrifices a lamb, as if he breaks a dog’s neck; he who offers a grain offering, as if he offers swine’s blood; he who burns incense, as if he blesses an idol. They have chosen their own ways, and their soul delights in their abominations;
“But now ask the beasts, and let them teach you; and the birds of the air, and let them tell you;
You cause the grass to grow for the cattle, and vegetation for the cultivation of man, that he may bring forth food from the earth,and wine that makes glad the heart of man, oil to make his face shine, and bread which strengthens man’s heart.
For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth; the former things shall not be remembered or come to mind.
“Did you give the beautiful wings to the peacocks? Or wings and feathers to the ostrich,who leaves her eggs in the earth, and warms them in dust,and forgets that a foot may crush them, or that the wild beast may break them?She is hardened against her young ones, as though they were not hers; her labor is in vain, without concern,because God has deprived her of wisdom, nor has He imparted understanding to her.When she lifts up herself on high, she scorns the horse and his rider.
As the cattle which go down into the valley, the Spirit of the Lord caused them to rest, so You led Your people, to make Yourself a glorious name.
