Imagine a perfect world, everything "very good," just as God intended. Then, because of choices made, that perfection was fractured. Genesis 3:17 tells us the ground was cursed because of disobedience. We see the effects of this every day, from the struggles we face to the natural disasters that shake our world.
Earthquakes, I believe, are a stark reminder of that brokenness, a wake-up call. They point to a future where Christ will restore order and make all things new. They urge us to turn away from the paths that lead us further from God and embrace a genuine humility of heart.
God desires us to be set apart, to live lives free from the perversion and immorality that so easily entangles us. He offers a way out, a path to healing and wholeness. The choice, friend, is ours. We can continue down a road that ultimately leads to eternal separation from Him, a place of unimaginable sorrow. Or, we can choose to turn back, to repent, and to walk in His light.
There will be great earthquakes, famines, and plagues in various places. There will be terrors and great signs from heaven.
For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be earthquakes in various places. There will be famines and troubles. These things are the beginning of birth pains.

The earth is utterly broken. The earth is torn apart. The earth is shaken violently. The earth will stagger like a drunken man, and will sway back and forth like a hammock. Its disobedience will be heavy on it, and it will fall and not rise again.

For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath I have spoken. Surely in that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel,
For in my jealousy and in the fire of my wrath I have spoken. Surely in that day there will be a great shaking in the land of Israel, “Son of man, set your face towards Gog, of the land of Magog, the prince of Rosh, Meshech, and Tubal, and prophesy against him, so that the fish of the sea, the birds of the sky, the animals of the field, all creeping things who creep on the earth, and all the men who are on the surface of the earth will shake at my presence. Then the mountains will be thrown down, the steep places will fall, and every wall will fall to the ground.

Now the centurion and those who were with him watching Jesus, when they saw the earthquake and the things that were done, were terrified, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

As it was in the days of Noah, even so it will also be in the days of the Son of Man. They ate, they drank, they married, and they were given in marriage until the day that Noah entered into the ship, and the flood came and destroyed them all. Likewise, even as it was in the days of Lot: they ate, they drank, they bought, they sold, they planted, they built; but in the day that Lot went out from Sodom, it rained fire and sulphur from the sky and destroyed them all. Be careful. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him. It will be the same way in the day that the Son of Man is revealed.
