109 Bible Verses to Memorize

109 Bible Verses to Memorize

If you have faith in God, anything is possible. The Bible says you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. God empowers you to memorize His word, removing any limitations from your mind, and He starts challenging you to see how you can achieve it.

A really important reason to hide Scripture in your heart is so that when the enemy tries to mess with your head, you can stand your ground with what's already inside you. Let the word come alive in your life, building up such a strong fortress that Satan can't find a crack to weaken you.

God wants everything you say to be guided by His will, and you'll know His will by learning the Scriptures.

Let not sin therefore rule as king in your mortal (short-lived, perishable) bodies, to make you yield to its cravings and be subject to its lusts and evil passions.Do not continue offering or yielding your bodily members [and faculties] to sin as instruments (tools) of wickedness. But offer and yield yourselves to God as though you have been raised from the dead to [perpetual] life, and your bodily members [and faculties] to God, presenting them as implements of righteousness.

Romans 12:1-2

I APPEAL to you therefore, brethren, and beg of you in view of [all] the mercies of God, to make a decisive dedication of your bodies [presenting all your members and faculties] as a living sacrifice, holy (devoted, consecrated) and well pleasing to God, which is your reasonable (rational, intelligent) service and spiritual worship.Love one another with brotherly affection [as members of one family], giving precedence and showing honor to one another.Never lag in zeal and in earnest endeavor; be aglow and burning with the Spirit, serving the Lord.Rejoice and exult in hope; be steadfast and patient in suffering and tribulation; be constant in prayer.Contribute to the needs of God's people [sharing in the necessities of the saints]; pursue the practice of hospitality.Bless those who persecute you [who are cruel in their attitude toward you]; bless and do not curse them.Rejoice with those who rejoice [sharing others' joy], and weep with those who weep [sharing others' grief].Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty (snobbish, high-minded, exclusive), but readily adjust yourself to [people, things] and give yourselves to humble tasks. Never overestimate yourself or be wise in your own conceits. [Prov. 3:7.]Repay no one evil for evil, but take thought for what is honest and proper and noble [aiming to be above reproach] in the sight of everyone. [Prov. 20:22.]If possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.Beloved, never avenge yourselves, but leave the way open for [God's] wrath; for it is written, Vengeance is Mine, I will repay (requite), says the Lord. [Deut. 32:35.]Do not be conformed to this world (this age), [fashioned after and adapted to its external, superficial customs], but be transformed (changed) by the [entire] renewal of your mind [by its new ideals and its new attitude], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God, even the thing which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His sight for you].

Prayer

Dear God, may You be lifted high always. My soul blesses You and longs to worship You, my good God. You are precious to me, my safe place. Lord, I thank You for drawing me close to Your Word once again, filling me with joy and wisdom as I learn each verse. May it be a blessing and build me up, and also those around me. Holy Spirit, touch my mind, every neuron, so I can easily remember Your words. May they come to me in times of trouble and trial, filling me with strength and power. Your Word says, "Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful." Lord, send Your Spirit so I can receive Your Word in truth and simplicity, transforming my mind. Let Your Word pierce me like a sword, shaping my character and restoring my spirit. May my heart be open like David's as he read the scriptures, and just as Your Word became flesh in him, may it also become action in me, according to Your will. In Jesus' name, Amen.
