VERSES ABOUT JOY

Think about it: the joy of the Lord doesn't just fill you with strength, it brings us all together. It's a joy that's not meant to be kept to yourself; it needs to be shared. Just like the Israelites were instructed to celebrate and share what they had with each other, you can spread the joy of the Lord with everyone you know.

This joy challenges you to love your neighbor and share the Gospel. When your heart is joyful in God, you are strong and empowered to spread that joy throughout your community. It's a lasting joy, something no one can take away.

Psalm 98:4-6 says, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King." You can find so many verses like this that talk about the joy of our God.

Rejoice in the Lord always; again I will say, rejoice!

You will make known to me the way of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.

Then he said to them, “Go, eat the festival foods, drink the sweet drinks, and send portions to him who has nothing prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your refuge.”

For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for a lifetime; Weeping may last for the night, But a shout of joy comes in the morning.

Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that you will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord has done great things for us; We are joyful.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.

These things I have spoken to you so that My joy may be in you, and that your joy may be made full.

rejoicing in hope, persevering in tribulation, devoted to prayer,

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, you righteous ones; And shout for joy, all you who are upright in heart.

Rejoice always,pray without ceasing,in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God for you in Christ Jesus.

Serve the Lord with jubilation; Come before Him with rejoicing.

Until now you have asked for nothing in My name; ask and you will receive, so that your joy may be made full.

and though you have not seen Him, you love Him, and though you do not see Him now, but believe in Him, you greatly rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory,obtaining as the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

Rejoice and shout for joy, you inhabitant of Zion, For great in your midst is the Holy One of Israel.

This is the day which the Lord has made; Let’s rejoice and be glad in it.

A joyful heart is good medicine, But a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Delight yourself in the Lord; And He will give you the desires of your heart.

for the kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Each one must do just as he has decided in his heart, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.

¶I will rejoice greatly in the Lord, My soul will be joyful in my God; For He has clothed me with garments of salvation, He has wrapped me with a robe of righteousness, As a groom puts on a turban, And as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

You have put joy in my heart, More than when their grain and new wine are abundant.

Even if the fig tree does not blossom, And there is no fruit on the vines, If the yield of the olive fails, And the fields produce no food, Even if the flock disappears from the fold, And there are no cattle in the stalls,Yet I will triumph in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

Consider it all joy, my brothers and sisters, when you encounter various trials,for a man’s anger does not bring about the righteousness of God.Therefore, ridding yourselves of all filthiness and all that remains of wickedness, in humility receive the word implanted, which is able to save your souls.But prove yourselves doers of the word, and not just hearers who deceive themselves.For if anyone is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror;for once he has looked at himself and gone away, he has immediately forgotten what kind of person he was.But one who has looked intently at the perfect law, the law of freedom, and has continued in it, not having become a forgetful hearer but an active doer, this person will be blessed in what he does. If anyone thinks himself to be religious, yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this person’s religion is worthless.Pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world.knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance.

When my anxious thoughts multiply within me, Your comfort delights my soul.

through whom we also have obtained our introduction by faith into this grace in which we stand; and we celebrate in hope of the glory of God.The Law came in so that the offense would increase; but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more,so that, as sin reigned in death, so also grace would reign through righteousness to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.And not only this, but we also celebrate in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance;

“For you will go out with joy And be led in peace; The mountains and the hills will break into shouts of joy before you, And all the trees of the field will clap their hands.

Sing for joy in the Lord, you righteous ones; Praise is becoming to the upright.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; My heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; Therefore my heart triumphs, And with my song I shall thank Him.

Peace I leave you, My peace I give you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Do not let your hearts be troubled, nor fearful.

I will rejoice and be jubilant in You; I will sing praise to Your name, O Most High.

Restore to me the joy of Your salvation, And sustain me with a willing spirit.

Be joyful in the Lord, you righteous ones, And praise the mention of His holy name.

Day by day continuing with one mind in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they were taking their meals together with gladness and sincerity of heart,praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.

always offering prayer with joy in my every prayer for you all,

My lips will shout for joy when I sing praises to You; And my soul, which You have redeemed.

¶So my soul shall rejoice in the Lord; It shall rejoice in His salvation.

Shout for joy, you heavens! And rejoice, you earth! Break forth into joyful shouting, mountains! For the Lord has comforted His people And will have compassion on His afflicted.

¶But rejoice, all who take refuge in You, Sing for joy forever! And may You shelter them, That those who love Your name may rejoice in You.

speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody with your hearts to the Lord;and walk in love, just as Christ also loved you and gave Himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God as a fragrant aroma. always giving thanks for all things in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to our God and Father;

I have inherited Your testimonies forever, For they are the joy of my heart.

Splendor and majesty are before Him, Strength and joy are in His place.

Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! Lord, they walk in the light of Your face.In Your name they rejoice all the day, And by Your righteousness they are exalted.

For You make him most blessed forever; You make him joyful with the joy of Your presence.

The hope of the righteous is gladness, But the expectation of the wicked perishes.

Nevertheless, do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rejoice that your names are recorded in heaven.”

¶Why are you in despair, my soul? And why are you restless within me? Wait for God, for I will again praise Him For the help of His presence, my God.

so that I may come to you in joy by the will of God and relax in your company.

¶The godly ones shall be jubilant in glory; They shall sing for joy on their beds.

Those who sow in tears shall harvest with joyful shouting.

But even if I am being poured out as a drink offering upon the sacrifice and service of your faith, I rejoice and share my joy with you all.You too, I urge you, rejoice in the same way and share your joy with me.

Blessed are the people who are so situated; Blessed are the people whose God is the Lord!

But the righteous will be joyful; they will rejoice before God; Yes, they will rejoice with gladness.

Rejoice on that day and jump for joy, for behold, your reward is great in heaven. For their fathers used to treat the prophets the same way.

To grant those who mourn in Zion, Giving them a garland instead of ashes, The oil of gladness instead of mourning, The cloak of praise instead of a disheartened spirit. So they will be called oaks of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Light is sown like seed for the righteous, And gladness for the upright in heart.

Your words were found and I ate them, And Your words became a joy to me and the delight of my heart; For I have been called by Your name, Lord God of armies.

Deceit is in the heart of those who devise evil, But counselors of peace have joy.

Therefore you will joyously draw water From the springs of salvation.

Sing to the Lord, bless His name; Proclaim the good news of His salvation from day to day.Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonderful deeds among all the peoples.

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, whom I long to see, my joy and crown, stand firm in the Lord in this way, my beloved.

My soul longed and even yearned for the courtyards of the Lord; My heart and my flesh sing for joy to the living God.

So shout for joy, you sons of Zion, And rejoice in the Lord your God; For He has given you the early rain for your vindication. And He has brought down for you the rain, The early and latter rain as before.

And not only this, but we also celebrate in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Israel shall be joyful in his Maker; The sons of Zion shall rejoice in their King.

And the redeemed of the Lord will return And come to Zion with joyful shouting, And everlasting joy will be on their heads. They will obtain gladness and joy, And sorrow and sighing will flee away.

I have rejoiced in the way of Your testimonies, As much as in all riches.

“Then the virgin will rejoice in the dance, And the young men and the old together; For I will turn their mourning into joy And comfort them, and give them joy for their sorrow.

Clap your hands, all you peoples; Shout to God with a voice of joy.

Then you will say on that day, “I will give thanks to You, Lord; For although You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, And You comfort me.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

So that I may tell of all Your praises, That in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your salvation.

“The Lord is my strength and song, And He has become my salvation; This is my God, and I will praise Him; My father’s God, and I will exalt Him.

May Your compassion come to me so that I may live, For Your Law is my delight.

And when He had said this, He showed them both His hands and His side. The disciples then rejoiced when they saw the Lord.

Not that we domineer over your faith, but we are workers with you for your joy; for in your faith you are standing firm.

Mount Zion shall be glad, The daughters of Judah shall rejoice Because of Your judgments.

For You have been my help, And in the shadow of Your wings I sing for joy.

Convinced of this, I know that I will remain and continue with you all for your progress and joy in the faith,

There you and your households shall eat before the Lord your God, and rejoice in all your undertakings in which the Lord your God has blessed you.

They shall also offer sacrifices of thanksgiving, And tell of His works with joyful singing.

The Lord reigns, may the earth rejoice; May the many islands be joyful.

They will burst forth in speaking of Your abundant goodness, And will shout joyfully of Your righteousness.

Yet I will triumph in the Lord, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of His might.

Every good thing given and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shifting shadow.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; Sing praises to our King, sing praises.For God is the King of all the earth; Sing praises with a psalm of wisdom.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,

And they, after worshiping Him, returned to Jerusalem with great joy,and were continually in the temple praising God.

yet He did not leave Himself without witness, in that He did good and gave you rains from heaven and fruitful seasons, satisfying your hearts with food and gladness.”

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who is against us?

Praise the Lord! Sing a new song to the Lord, And His praise in the congregation of the godly ones.

They shall also exalt Him in the congregation of the people, And praise Him at the seat of the elders.

I will give You thanks with all my heart; I will sing Your praises before the gods.I will bow down toward Your holy temple And give thanks to Your name for Your mercy and Your truth; For You have made Your word great according to all Your name.

If Your Law had not been my delight, Then I would have perished in my misery.

A person has joy in an apt answer, And how delightful is a timely word!

but to the degree that you share the sufferings of Christ, keep on rejoicing, so that at the revelation of His glory you may also rejoice and be overjoyed.

You also became imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word during great affliction with the joy of the Holy Spirit,
