VERSES ABOUT JOY

Think about it: the joy of the Lord doesn't just fill you with strength, it brings us all together. It's a joy that's not meant to be kept to yourself; it needs to be shared. Just like the Israelites were instructed to celebrate and share what they had with each other, you can spread the joy of the Lord with everyone you know.

This joy challenges you to love your neighbor and share the Gospel. When your heart is joyful in God, you are strong and empowered to spread that joy throughout your community. It's a lasting joy, something no one can take away.

Psalm 98:4-6 says, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King." You can find so many verses like this that talk about the joy of our God.

Reioyce in the Lord alway: and againe I say, Reioyce.

Thou wilt shewe me the path of life: in thy presence is fulnesse of ioy, at thy right hand there are pleasures for euermore.

Then hee sayd vnto them, Goe your way, eat the fat, & drinke the sweet, and send portions vnto them, for whom nothing is prepared: for this day is holy vnto our Lord: neither be ye sory, for the ioy of the Lord is your strength.

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his fauour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but ioy commeth in the morning.

Nowe the God of hope fill you with all ioy and peace in beleeuing, that yee may abound in hope through the power of the holy Ghost.

The Lord hath done great things for vs: whereof we are glad.

But the fruit of the spirit is loue, ioy, peace, long suffering, gentlenesse, goodnesse, faith,Meekenesse, temperance: against such there is no law.

These things haue I spoken vnto you, that my ioy might remaine in you, and that your ioy might be full.

Reioycing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing instant in prayer.

Be glad in the Lord, and reioyce yee righteous: and shout for ioy all ye that are vpright in heart.

Reioyce euermore:Pray without ceasing:In euery thing giue thankes: for this is the will of God in Christ Iesus concerning you.

Serue the Lord with gladnes: come before his presence with singing.

Hitherto haue ye asked nothing in my Name: aske, and ye shall receiue, that your ioy may be full.

Whom hauing not seene, yee loue, in whom though now ye see him not, yet beleeuing, ye reioyce with ioy vnspeakeable, and full of glory,Receiuing the ende of your faith, euen the saluation of your soules:

Cry out and shout thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the holy one of Israel in the midst of thee.

This is the day which the Lord hath made: we will reioyce, and be glad in it.

A merrie heart doth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.

Delight thy selfe also in the Lord; and he shall giue thee the desires of thine heart.

For the kingdome of God is not meat and drinke; but righteousnes, and peace, and ioy in the holy Ghost.

Euerie man according as he purposeth in his heart, so let him giue; not grudgingly, or of necessitie: for God loueth a cheerefull giuer.

I will greatly reioyce in the Lord, my soule shalbe ioyfull in my God: for he hath clothed me with the garments of saluation, he hath couered me with the robe of righteousnes, as a bridegrome decketh himselfe with ornaments, and as a bride adorneth herselfe with her iewels.

Thou hast put gladnesse in my heart, more then in the time that their corne and their wine increased.

Although the fig tree shall not blossome, neither shall fruite bee in the vines: the labour of the Oliue shall faile, and the fields shal yeeld no meat, the flocke shall be cut off from the folde, and there shalbe no heard in the stalles:Yet I will reioyce in the Lord: I will ioy in the God of my saluation.

My brethren, count it all ioy when ye fall into diuers temptations,Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience,

In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soule.

By whom also wee haue accesse by faith, into this grace wherein wee stand, and reioyce in hope of the glory of God.And not onely so, but we glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience:

For ye shall goe out with ioy, and bee led foorth with peace: the mountaines and the hilles shall breake forth before you into singing, and al the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

Reioyce in the Lord, O yee righteous: for prayse is comely for the vpright.

The Lord is my strength, and my shield, my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly reioyceth, and with my song will I praise him.

Peace I leaue with you, my peace I giue vnto you, not as the world giueth, giue I vnto you: let not your heart bee troubled, neither let it bee afraid.

I will bee glad and reioyce in thee: I will sing prayse to thy name, O thou most High.

Restore vnto me the ioy of thy saluation: and vphold mee with thy free Spirit.

Reioyce in the Lord, ye righteous: and giue thanks at the remembrance of his holinesse.

And they continuing daily with one accord in the Temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladnesse and singlenesse of heart,Praising God, and hauing fauour with all the people. And the Lord added to the Church dayly such as should be saued.

Alwayes in euery prayer of mine for you all making request, with ioy

My lippes shall greatly reioyce when I sing vnto thee: and my soule, which thou hast redeemed.

And my soule shalbe ioyfull in the Lord: it shall reioyce in his saluation.

Sing, O heauen, and be ioyfull, O earth, and breake forth into singing, O mountaines: for God hath comforted his people, and will haue mercy vpon his afflicted.

Speaking to your selues, in Psalmes, and Hymnes, and Spirituall songs, singing and making melodie in your heart to the Lord,Giuing thankes alwayes for all things vnto God, and the Father, in the Name of our Lord Iesus Christ,

Thy Testimonies haue I taken as an heritage for euer: for they are the reioycing of my heart.

Glory and honour are in his presence: strength and gladnesse are in his place.

Blessed is the people that knowe the ioyfull sound: they shall walke O Lord in the light of thy countenance.In thy name shall they reioyce all the day: and in thy righteousnes shall they be exalted.

For thou hast made him most blessed for euer: thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

The hope of the righteous shall bee gladnesse: but the expectation of the wicked shall perish.

Notwithstanding in this reioyce not, that the spirits are subiect vnto you: but rather reioyce, because your names are written in heauen.

Why art thou cast downe, O my soule, and why art thou disquieted in me? hope thou in God, for I shall yet praise him for the helpe of his countenance.

That I may come vnto you with ioy by the will of God, and may with you be refreshed.

Let the Saints be ioyfull in glory: let them sing aloude vpon their beddes.

Happy is that people that is in such a case: yea, happy is that people, whose God is the Lord.

But let the righteous be glad: let them reioyce before God, yea let them exceedingly reioyce.

Reioice yee in that day, and leape for ioy: for behold, your reward is great in heauen for in the like maner did their fathers vnto the Prophets.

To appoint vnto them that mourne in Zion, to giue vnto them beautie for ashes, the oyle of ioy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heauinesse, that they might be called trees of righteousnesse, the planting of the Lord, that he might be glorified.

Light is sowen for the righteous: and gladnesse for the vpright in heart.

Thy wordes were found, and I did eate them, and thy word was vnto mee, the ioy and reioycing of mine heart: for I am called by thy Name, O Lord God of hostes.

Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine euill: but to the counsellours of peace, is ioy.

For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and reioyce in Christ Iesus, and haue no confidence in the flesh.

That I may shew foorth all thy prayse in the gates of the daughter of Sion: I will reioyce in thy saluation.

The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my saluation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation, my fathers God, and I wil exalt him.

Let thy tender mercies come vnto me, that I may liue: for thy lawe is my delight.

And when hee had so saide, hee shewed vnto them his hands and his side. Then were the disciples glad, when they saw the Lord.

Not for that we haue dominion ouer your faith, but are helpers of your ioy: for by faith ye stand.

Let mount Sion reioyce, let the daughters of Iudah be glad, because of thy iudgements.

Because thou hast bene my helpe; therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I reioyce.

And hauing this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all, for your furtherance and ioy of faith,

Yet I will reioyce in the Lord: I will ioy in the God of my saluation.

Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, & in the power of his might.

Euery good gift, and euery perfect gift is from aboue, & commeth downe from the Father of lights, with whom is no variablenesse, neither shadow of turning.

Sing praises to God, sing praises: sing praises vnto our King, sing praises.For God is the King of all the earth, sing ye praises with vnderstanding.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Iesus Christ, who hath blessed vs with all spirituall blessings in heauenly places in Christ:

And they worshipped him, and returned to Hierusalem, with great ioy:And were continually in the Temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Neuerthelesse, he left not himselfe without witnesse, in that he did good, and gaue vs raine from heauen, and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladnesse.

What shall wee then say to these things? If God be for vs, who can bee against vs?

A man hath ioy by the answere of his mouth: and a word spoken in due season, how good is it?

But reioyce in as much as yee are partakers of Christes sufferings; that when his glory shalbe reueiled, ye may be glad also with exceeding ioy.

And yee became followers of vs, and of the Lord, hauing receiued the word in much affliction, with ioy of the holy Ghost:

Giue thankes vnto the Lord, call vpon his name, make knowen his deeds among the people.Sing vnto him, sing psalmes vnto him, talke you of all his wonderous workes.Glory yee in his holy Name, let the heart of them reioyce that seeke the Lord.
