VERSES ABOUT JOY

Think about it: the joy of the Lord doesn't just fill you with strength, it brings us all together. It's a joy that's not meant to be kept to yourself; it needs to be shared. Just like the Israelites were instructed to celebrate and share what they had with each other, you can spread the joy of the Lord with everyone you know.

This joy challenges you to love your neighbor and share the Gospel. When your heart is joyful in God, you are strong and empowered to spread that joy throughout your community. It's a lasting joy, something no one can take away.

Psalm 98:4-6 says, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King." You can find so many verses like this that talk about the joy of our God.

Rejoice in the Lord always, and again I say, Rejoice.

Thou wilt show me the path of life: in thy presence is fullness of joy; in thy right hand there are pleasures for evermore.

Then he said unto them, Go, eat the fat, and drink sweet wine, and send portions unto those who have nothing prepared; for this day is holy unto our Lord, and not sad; for the joy of the Lord is your strength.

For his anger endures but a moment; in his will is life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

¶ And believing, the God of hope fills you with all joy and peace that ye may abound in hope by the virtue of the Holy Spirit.

The Lord has done great things with us, of which we shall be glad.

But the fruit of the Spirit is this: Charity, joy, peace, tolerance, gentleness, goodness, faith,meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

These things I have spoken unto you that my joy may abide in you and that your joy might be fulfilled.

rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, constant in prayer,

Be glad in the Lord and rejoice, ye righteous, and shout for joy, all ye that are upright in heart.

¶ Always rejoice.Pray without ceasing.In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.

Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with joy.

Until now ye have asked nothing in my name; ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be fulfilled.

whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though at present ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory;receiving the end of your faith, even the saving health of your souls.

Rejoice and sing, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

This is the day which the Lord has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.

¶ A joyful heart shall do good like a medicine, but a broken spirit dries the bones.

In the same manner delight thyself in the Lord, and he shall give thee the desires of thy heart.

for the kingdom of God is not food and drink, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Each one according as they purpose in their heart, so let them give, not grudgingly or of necessity; for God loves a cheerful giver.

¶ I will greatly rejoice in the Lord; my soul shall be joyful in my God; for he has clothed me with the garments of saving health; he has surrounded me with the robe of righteousness; as a bridegroom he has arrayed me, and as a bride made up of his jewels.

Thou hast put gladness in my heart in the time that their grain and their wine multiplied.

Because the fig tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be on the vines; the labour of the olive shall lie, and the cultivated fields shall yield no food; the sheep shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls:yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will joy in the God of my saving health.

¶ My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into diverse trials,for the wrath of man does not work the righteousness of God.So then, leave all uncleanness and remains of malice and receive with meekness the word ingested within you, which is able to cause your souls to be saved.But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.For if anyone hears the word and does not put it into practice, this same is like unto the man beholding his natural face in a mirror:For he considered himself and went his way and in one hour forgot what he was like.But whosoever has looked attentively into the perfect law of liberty and has persevered in it, not being a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, the same shall be blessed in their deed.If anyone among you thinks to be religious and does not bridle his tongue, but deceives his own heart, his religion is vain.The pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their tribulation and to keep thyself unspotted from this world.knowing that the proving of your faith works patience,

In the multitude of my thoughts within me, thy comforts delight my soul.

by whom we also have access by faith into this grace in which we stand and glory in hope of the glory of the sons of God.Moreover the law entered that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound,so that in the same manner as sin has reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus, the Christ, our Lord.And not only this, but we even glory in the tribulations, knowing that the tribulation works patience;

For ye shall go out with joy, and be returned with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.

¶ Rejoice in the Lord, O ye righteous, for to the upright praise is beautiful.

The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped; therefore my heart greatly rejoices; and with my song I will praise him.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

I will be glad and rejoice in thee: I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High

Restore unto me the joy of thy saving health, and thy spirit of liberty shall uphold me.

Rejoice in the Lord, ye righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.

And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food together with gladness and singleness of heart,praising God and having grace with all the people. And the Lord added to the congregation {Gr. ekklesia – called out ones} daily such as should be saved.

always in every prayer of mine for you all, making request with joy,

My lips shall greatly rejoice when I sing praises unto thee and my soul, which thou hast ransomed.

And my soul shall be joyful in the Lord; it shall rejoice in his saving health.

¶ Sing, O heavens; and be joyful, O earth; and break forth into singing, O mountains: for the Lord has comforted his people and will have mercy upon his afflicted.

And all those that put their trust in thee shall rejoice: they shall ever be in jubilee, for thou shalt cover them; and all that love thy name shall be joyful in thee.

¶ I have taken thy testimonies as a heritage for ever; for they are the rejoicing of my heart.

Glory and beauty are in his presence; strength and gladness are in his place.

¶ Happy are the people that know how to enter into joy; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.In thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.

For thou hast made him most blessed for ever; thou hast made him exceeding glad with thy countenance.

The hope of the righteous is joy, but the hope of the wicked shall perish.

Notwithstanding, rejoice not in this, that the spirits are subject unto you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in the heavens.

Why art thou cast down, O my soul? and why art thou disquieted against me? Wait thou for God, for I shall yet praise him for the wellbeing of his presence.

Light is sown for the righteous and gladness for the upright in heart.

¶ Deceit is in the heart of those whose thoughts are evil, but joy in that of those whose thoughts are good.

and my spirit has rejoiced in God my Saving Health,

¶ I rejoice at thy spoken word, as one that finds great spoil.

And the disciples were filled with joy and with the Holy Spirit.

¶ In the transgression of an evil man there is a snare, but the righteous shall sing and rejoice.

Sing unto God, sing psalms unto his name; extol him that rides upon the heavens by his name JAH and rejoice before him.

Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of saving health.

Sing unto the Lord, bless his name; show forth his saving health from day to day.Declare his glory among the Gentiles, his wonders among all peoples.

¶ Therefore, my brethren dearly beloved and longed for, my joy and crown, so stand fast in the Lord, my dearly beloved.

My soul longs, and even faints for the courts of the Lord; my heart and my flesh sing to the living God.

Ye also, sons of Zion, be glad and rejoice in the Lord your God for he has given you the former rain according to righteousness, and he will cause to come down for you the rain, the former rain, and the latter rain as in the beginning.

¶ A joyful heart makes a beautiful countenance, but by sorrow of the heart the spirit is abated.

Then I will enter in to the altar of God, unto the God of my exceeding joy; yea, upon the harp will I praise thee, O God my God.

And when he had brought them into his house, he set food before them and rejoiced, believing in God with all his house.

And he brought forth his people with joy and his chosen with singing

Great is my boldness of speech toward you, great is my glorying of you; I am filled with comfort, I am exceeding joyful in all our tribulation.

As thou hast multiplied the nation, thou hast not increased the joy. They shall rejoice before thee as they rejoice in the harvest and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil.

I say unto you that likewise there shall be more joy in heaven over one sinner that repents than over ninety-nine just persons, who need no repentance.

And not only this, but we even glory in God through our Lord Jesus, the Christ, by whom we have now received the reconciliation.

Let Israel rejoice with his Maker; let the sons of Zion be joyful with their King.

And the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come to Zion with songs; and everlasting joy shall be upon their heads: they shall retain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away.

I have rejoiced in the way of thy testimonies as above all riches.

Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both young men and old together; for I will turn their mourning into joy and will comfort them and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

Thou hast created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon shall sing in thy name.

¶ And it shall be said in that day, Behold, this is our God, whom we have waited for, and he has saved us: this is the Lord, whom we have waited for, we will be glad and rejoice in his saving health.

O let the Gentiles be glad and sing for joy, for thou shalt judge the people righteously and shepherd the Gentiles upon the earth. Selah.

For we are the circumcision, who serve God in spirit and glory in Christ Jesus, having no confidence in the flesh.

even every one that is called by my name, for I have created them for my glory; I have formed them; yea, I have made them.

¶ O sing unto the Lord a new song; sing unto the Lord, all the earth.

Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices: my flesh also shall rest secure.

¶ O clap your hands, all ye people; shout unto God with the voice of triumph.

¶ And in that day thou shalt say, O Lord, I will sing unto thee; though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou hast comforted me.

And we now know that unto those who love God, all things help them unto good, to those who according to the purpose are called to be saints.

that I may show forth all thy praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion: I will rejoice in thy saving health.

The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my saving health; he is my God, and I will prepare him a habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

Let thy mercy come unto me, that I may live, for thy law is my delight.

And having said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.

Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy, for by faith ye stand.

Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Judah be glad because of thy judgments.

¶ Because thou hast been my help, therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.

And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide and continue with you all for your furtherance and joy of faith,

and there ye shall eat before the Lord your God, and ye and your households shall rejoice in every work of your hands in which the Lord thy God has blessed thee.

And let them offer the sacrifices of praise and publish his works with singing.

Therefore the ransomed of the Lord shall return and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head; they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.

¶ The Lord reigns; let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of isles be glad thereof.

They shall proclaim the memory of thy great goodness and shall sing of thy righteousness.

yet I will rejoice in the Lord; I will joy in the God of my saving health.

¶ Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might.

¶ I will sing of the mercies of the Lord for ever; with my mouth will I make known thy faithfulness to all generations.Thou hast broken Egypt in pieces as one that is slain; thou hast scattered thine enemies with thy strong arm.The heavens are thine, the earth also is thine: the world and its fullness, thou didst found.Thou hast created the north and the south; Tabor and Hermon shall sing in thy name.The mighty arm is thine; strong is thy hand, and high is thy right hand.Thy throne is composed of righteousness and judgment; mercy and truth go before thy face.¶ Happy are the people that know how to enter into joy; they shall walk, O Lord, in the light of thy countenance.In thy name shall they rejoice each day; and in thy righteousness shall they be exalted.For thou art the glory of their strength, and in thy favour our horn shall be exalted.For the Lord is our shield, and the Holy One of Israel is our king.¶ Then thou didst speak in vision to thy holy one and didst say, I have laid help upon one that is mighty; I have exalted one chosen out of my people.For I have said, Mercy shall be built up for ever in the heavens; in them thou shalt establish thy truth.

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness neither shadow of turning.

Sing praises to God, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.For God is the King of all the earth; sing ye praises with understanding.

¶ Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly things in Christ;

And they worshipped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joyand were continually in the temple, praising and blessing God. Amen.

Nevertheless he did not leave himself without witness, in that he did good and gave us rain from heaven and fruitful seasons, filling our hearts with food and gladness.

¶ What shall we then say to these things? If God is for us, who shall be against us?

¶ Halelu-JAH. Sing unto the Lord a new song, let his praise be in the congregation of the merciful.

Let them exalt him also in the congregation of the people and praise him in the assembly of the elders.

¶ I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods I will sing praises unto thee.I will worship the temple of thy holiness and praise thy name above thy mercy and thy truth; for thou hast made thy name to be magnificent and raised up thy spoken word above all things.

¶ Unless thy law had been my delight, I should have perished in my affliction.

His lord said unto him, Well done, thou good and faithful slave; thou hast been faithful over a few things; I will set thee over many things; enter thou into the joy of thy lord.

¶ A man has joy by the answer of his mouth, and a word spoken in due season, how good it is!

but rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of the afflictions of the Christ, so that also in the revelation of his glory, ye may rejoice in triumph.

¶ And ye were made imitators of us and of the Lord, having received the word with much tribulation, with joy of the Holy Spirit:
