VERSES ABOUT JOY
Think about it: the joy of the Lord doesn't just fill you with strength, it brings us all together. It's a joy that's not meant to be kept to yourself; it needs to be shared. Just like the Israelites were instructed to celebrate and share what they had with each other, you can spread the joy of the Lord with everyone you know.
This joy challenges you to love your neighbor and share the Gospel. When your heart is joyful in God, you are strong and empowered to spread that joy throughout your community. It's a lasting joy, something no one can take away.
Psalm 98:4-6 says, "Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth, burst into jubilant song with music; make music to the Lord with the harp, with the harp and the sound of singing, with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn— shout for joy before the Lord, the King." You can find so many verses like this that talk about the joy of our God.
You will teach me the right way to live.\par Just being with you, Lord, will bring\par complete happiness.\par Being at your right side will bring\par happiness forever.\par
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy the good food and sweet drinks. And give some food and drinks to those people that didn’t prepare any food. Today is a special day to the Lord. Don’t be sad! Why? Because the joy of the Lord will make you strong.”
God was angry,\par so the decision was “death.”\par But he showed his love,\par and gave me “life.”\par At night,\par I lay crying.\par The next morning,\par I was happy and singing!\par
I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then you will have more and more hope, and it will flow out of you by the power of the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [150]}
But the Spirit {\cf2\super [74]} gives love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control. There is no law that can say these things are wrong.
I have told you these things so that you can have the true happiness that I have. I want you to be completely happy.
Good people, rejoice\par and be very happy in the Lord.\par All you people with pure hearts, rejoice!\par
Always be full of joy.Never stop praying.Give thanks \{to God\} at all times. That is what God wants for you in Christ Jesus.
You have never asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive. And you will be truly happy.
You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You can’t see him now, but you believe in him. You are filled with a joy that cannot be explained. And that joy is full of glory.Your faith has a goal. And you are receiving that goal—your salvation.
People of Zion, {\cf2\super [140]} shout about these things!\par The Holy One of Israel is with you\par in a powerful way.\par So, be happy!\par
In the kingdom of God, eating and drinking are not important. In the kingdom of God, the important things are these: living right with God, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [143]}
Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give. A person should not give if it makes him sad. And a person should not give if he thinks he is forced to give. God loves the person who gives happily.
“The Lord makes me very, very happy.\par My whole self is happy in my God.\par The Lord put the clothes of salvation on me.\par These clothes are like the nice clothes\par a man wears at his wedding.\par The Lord put the coat of goodness on me.\par This coat is like the beautiful clothes\par a woman wears at her wedding.\par
Lord, you have made me very happy!\par I am happier now than at harvest time—\par when we celebrate because we have much grain and wine.\par
Figs might not grow on the fig trees.\par Grapes might not grow on the vines.\par Olives might not grow on the olive trees.\par Food might not grow in the fields.\par There might not be any sheep in the pens.\par There might not be any cattle in the barns.\parBut I will still be glad in the Lord.\par I will rejoice in God my savior.\par
My brothers and sisters, you will have many kinds of troubles. But when these things happen, you should be very happy.Why? Because you know that these things are testing your faith. And this will give you patience.
Through our faith, Christ has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace (kindness) that we now enjoy. And we are very happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory.And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient.
My words will go out with happiness,\par and they will bring peace.\par Mountains and hills will begin dancing with happiness.\par All the trees in the fields will clap their hands.\par
The Lord is my strength.\par He is my shield.\par I trusted him.\par And he helped me.\par I am very happy!\par And I sing songs of praise to him.\par
“I leave you peace. It is my own peace I give you. I give you peace in a different way than the world does. So don’t be troubled. Don’t be afraid.
Your help made me so happy!\par Give me that joy again.\par Make my spirit strong\par and ready to obey you.\par
The believers met together in the temple {\cf2\super [48]} yard every day. They all had the same purpose. They ate {\cf2\super [49]} together in their homes. They were happy to share their food and ate with joyful hearts.The believers praised God, and all the people liked them. More and more people were being saved every day; the Lord was adding those people to the group \{of believers\}.
Heavens and Earth, be happy!\par Mountains, shout with joy!\par Why? Because the Lord comforts his people.\par The Lord is good to his poor people.\par
But let the people who trust God be happy.\par Let them be happy forever!\par God, protect and give strength to the people who love your name.\par
Communicate to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.Always give thanks to God the Father for everything. Give him thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lord, I will follow your Agreement {\cf2\super [598]} forever.\par It makes me very happy.\par
God, your loyal followers are truly happy.\par They live in the light of your kindness.\parYour name always makes them happy.\par They praise your goodness.\par
God, you really blessed the king forever.\par When the king sees your face,\par it makes him very happy.\par
The things good people hope for bring happiness. The things bad people hope for bring ruin.
Yes, the spirits obey you. And be happy. Why? Not because you have this power, but be happy because your names are written in heaven.”
Why should I be so sad?\par Why should I be so upset?\par I should wait for God’s help.\par I will get the chance to praise him yet.\par He will save me!\par
Then, if God wants me to, I will come to you. I will come with joy, and together you and I will have a time of rest.
A person might be sad\par when he plants the seeds,\par but he will be happy\par when he gathers the crops!\par
Your faith makes you give your lives as a sacrifice {\cf2\super [13]} in serving God. Maybe I will have to offer my own blood (death) with your sacrifice. But if that happens, I will be happy and full of joy with all of you.You also should be happy and full of joy with me.
At times like this,\par people are very happy.\par People are very happy\par if the Lord is their God.\par
But good people are happy.\par Good people have a happy time\par together with God.\par Good people enjoy themselves\par and are very happy!\par
At that time you can be happy and jump for joy, because you have a great reward in heaven. Their fathers {\cf2\super [118]} were mean to the prophets {\cf2\super [119]} in the same way that these people are mean to you.
God sent me to the sad people of Zion. \{I will get them ready for the celebration.\} I will take away the ashes on their head, and I will give them a crown. I will take away their sadness, and I will give them the oil of happiness. I will take away their sorrow, and I will give them celebration clothes. God sent me to name those people ‘Good Trees’ and ‘The Lord’s Wonderful Plant.’
Your message came to me\par and I ate your words.\par Your message made me very happy.\par I was happy to be called by your name.\par Your name is Lord All-Powerful.\par
Evil people always want to cause trouble. But people who work for peace will be happy.
We will be laughing\par and singing happy songs!\par People in other nations will say,\par “The Lord did a wonderful thing\par for the people of Israel.”\par

But let those people that come to you\par be happy and rejoice.\par They love being saved by you.\par So let them always say,\par “Praise the Lord!” {\cf2\super [253]} \par
The Lord your God is with you.\par He is like a powerful soldier.\par He will save you.\par He will show how much he loves you.\par He will show you how happy he is\par with you.\par He will laugh and be happy about you,\par
“I am coming to you now. But I pray these things while I am still in the world. I say these things so that these men can have the true happiness that I have. I want them to be completely happy.
Lord, your word makes me happy,\par as happy as a person who just found\par a great treasure.\par
But the followers \{of Jesus in Antioch\} were happy and full of the Holy Spirit. {\cf2\super [281]}
Sing to God.\par Sing praises to his name.\par Prepare the way for God.\par He rides his chariot {\cf2\super [388]} over the desert.\par His name is YAH. {\cf2\super [389]} \par Praise his name!\par
My people will be happy.\par They will rejoice forever and ever.\par Why? Because of what I will make.\par I will make a Jerusalem that is full of joy,\par and I will make them a happy people.\par
When other people are happy, you should be happy with them. And when other people are sad, you should be sad with them.
And now, my brothers and sisters, be happy in the Lord. It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it will help you to be more ready.
Lord, you make us truly happy\par with the things you did.\par We gladly sing about those things.\par
Sing to the Lord!\par Bless his name!\par Tell the good news!\par Tell about him saving us every day!\parTell people that God is truly wonderful.\par Tell people everywhere about the amazing things God does.\par
My dear brothers and sisters, I love you and want to see you. You bring me joy and make me proud of you. Continue following the Lord like I have told you.
Lord, I can’t wait to enter your temple.\par I'm so excited!\par Every part of me wants to be with\par the Living God.\par
So be happy, people of Zion. {\cf2\super [18]} \par Be joyful in the Lord your God.\par He will be good and give you rain.\par He will send you the early rains\par and the late rains like before.\par
If a person is happy, then his face will show joy. But if a person is sad in his heart, then his spirit will show that sadness.
I will come to God’s altar.\par I will come to the God who makes me\par so very happy.\par God, my God, I will praise you with\par a harp.\par
After this the jailer took Paul and Silas home and gave them some food. All the people were very happy because they now believed in God.
God brought his people out from Egypt.\par The people came out rejoicing\par and singing their happy songs!\par
I feel very sure of you. I am very proud of you. You give me much courage. And in all of our troubles I have great joy.
God, you will cause the nation to grow. You will make the people happy. And the people will show their happiness to you. It will be like the joy during harvest time. It will be like the joy when people take their share of things they have won in war.

In the same way, if you obey my commands, you will continue in my love.I have told you these things so that you can have the true happiness that I have. I want you to be completely happy.
You love goodness and you hate evil.\par So God, your God, chose you to be king\par over your friends. {\cf2\super [275]} \par
I will clothe the priests with salvation.\par And my followers will be very happy here.\par
The skies are happy because the Lord did great things.\par The earth is happy, even deep down under the earth!\par The mountains sing with thanks to God.\par All the trees in the forest are happy!\par Why? Because the Lord saved Jacob.\par The Lord did great things for Israel.\par
In the same way, I tell you, heaven is a happy place when one sinner changes his heart. There is more joy for that one sinner than there is for 99 good people that don’t need to change their hearts.
And not only will we be saved, but we are also very happy now. We are happy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ. It is because of Jesus that we are now God’s friends.
Let Israel enjoy themselves with their Maker.\par Let the people on Zion {\cf2\super [651]} rejoice with their King.\par
God will make his people free! And those people will come back to him. The people will be happy when they come into Zion. {\cf2\super [333]} The people will be happy forever. Their happiness will be like a crown on their heads. Their gladness and joy will fill them completely. Sorrow and sadness will be gone far, far away.
Then the young women of Israel\par will be happy and dance.\par And the young men and old men\par will join in the dancing.\par I will change their sadness into happiness.\par I will comfort the people of Israel.\par I will change their sadness to happiness.\par
You created everything north and south.\par Mount Tabor and Mount Hermon\par sing praises to your name.\par
At that time, people will say,\par “Here is our God!\par He is the One we have been waiting for.\par He has come to save us.\par We have been waiting for our Lord.\par So we will rejoice and be happy\par when the Lord saves us.”\par
May all nations rejoice and be happy!\par Why? Because you judge people fairly.\par And you rule over every nation.\par
But we are the people who are truly circumcised. {\cf2\super [16]} We worship (serve) God through his Spirit. {\cf2\super [17]} We are proud to be in Christ Jesus. And we don’t trust in ourselves or anything we can do.
Bring to me all the people that are mine—the people that have my name. I made those people for myself. I made those people, and they are mine.”
Sing a new song about the new things\par that the Lord has done!\par Let the whole world sing to the Lord.\par
At that time, you will say:\par “I praise you Lord!\par You have been angry at me.\par But don’t be angry with me now!\par Show your love to me.”\par
We know that in everything God works for the good of those people that love him. These are the people God called (chose), because that was his plan.
Then, at the gates of Jerusalem,\par I can sing praises to you, Lord.\par I will be very happy\par because you saved me.”\par
The Lord is my strength. He saves me, and I sing songs of praise to him. [96] The Lord is my God, and I praise him. The Lord is the God of my ancestors, [97] and I honor him.
After Jesus said this, he showed the followers his hands and his side. The followers were very happy when they saw the Lord.
\{God,\} Mount Zion is happy.\par The towns of Judah rejoice\par because of your good decisions.\par
I know that you need me. And so I know that I will stay with you. I will help you grow and have joy in your faith.
You and your families will eat together at that place, and the Lord your God will be there with you. At that place, you will enjoy sharing the things you worked for. You will remember that the Lord your God blessed you and gave you those good things.
Offer sacrifices {\cf2\super [566]} to the Lord\par to thank him for all he did.\par Gladly tell what the Lord has done.\par
The Lord will save his people.\par They will return to Zion {\cf2\super [419]} with joy.\par They will be very, very happy.\par Their happiness will be like\par a crown on their heads forever.\par They will be singing with joy.\par All sadness will be gone far away.\par
People will tell about\par the good things you do.\par People will sing about your goodness.\par
I will sing forever about the Lord’s love.\par I will sing about his loyalty\par forever and ever!\parLord, I truly believe your love is forever.\par Your loyalty continues like the skies!\par
Everything good comes from God. And every perfect gift is from God. These good gifts come down from the Father who made all the lights in the sky (sun, moon, stars). But God never changes \{like those lights\}. He is always the same.
Sing praises to God.\par Sing praises.\par Sing praises to our King.\par Sing praises.\parGod is the King of the whole world.\par Sing songs of praise. {\cf2\super [287]} \par
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. In Christ, God has given us every spiritual blessing in heaven.
The followers worshiped him there. Then they went back to the city. They were very happy.They stayed at the temple {\cf2\super [400]} all the time, praising God.
But God was always there doing things that prove he is real. He gives you rain from the sky. He gives you good harvests at the right times. He gives you plenty of food, and he fills your hearts with joy.”
Why should I be so sad?\par Why should I be so upset?\par I should wait for God’s help.\par I will get the chance to praise him yet.\par He will save me!\par
It is the same with you. Now you are sad. But I will see you again and you will be truly happy. You will have a happiness that no one can take away.

But thanks be to God. God always leads us in victory through Christ. God uses us to spread his knowledge everywhere like a sweet-smelling perfume.
Yes, I will praise you in my life.\par In your name, I lift my arms in prayer.\parI will be satisfied\par as if I had eaten the best foods.\par And with joyful lips\par my mouth will praise you. {\cf2\super [370]} \par
So what should we say about this? If God is for us, then no person can stand against us. And God is with us.
Praise the Lord.\par Sing a new song about the new things\par the Lord has done!\par Sing his praise in the assembly\par where his followers meet together.\par
Praise God in the great assembly.\par Praise him when the older leaders meet together.\par
God, I praise you with all my heart.\par I will sing your songs\par before all the gods.\parGod, I bow down toward your holy temple.\par I praise your name,\par your true love,\par and your loyalty.\par You are famous \{for the power of\}\par your word.\par Now you have made it even greater!\par
If your teachings were not like friends to me,\par then my suffering would have\par destroyed me.\par
“The master answered, ‘You did right. You are a good servant that can be trusted. You did well with that small amount of money. So I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my happiness with me.’
Don’t be drunk with wine. That will ruin (destroy) you spiritually. But be filled with the Spirit. {\cf2\super [39]}Communicate to each other with psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs. Sing and make music in your hearts to the Lord.Always give thanks to God the Father for everything. Give him thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
A person is happy when he gives a good answer. And the right word at the right time is very good.
But you should be happy that you are sharing in Christ’s sufferings. You will be happy and full of joy when Christ shows his glory.
And you became like us and like the Lord. You suffered much, but still you accepted the teaching with joy. The Holy Spirit gave you that joy.
Praise the Lord.\par Call on his name.\par Tell people about the great things\par the Lord has done.\parSing to the Lord.\par Sing praises to the Lord.\par Tell about all his wonderful works.\parBe proud of the Lord’s holy name.\par All you people coming to the Lord,\par be happy!\par
