112 Bible Verses about Joy
I want to tell you about a joy that can chase away every sadness and fill your heart to overflowing. It's not a fleeting feeling based on how your day is going, but something you build day by day in the presence of the Holy Spirit.
It's your relationship with the Holy Spirit that will lead you to truly know God. And once you know Him, you'll worship Him in a way that pours out of you like a river of praise, just thinking about how amazing your Savior is. You'll understand His goodness in your life, and laughter will just bubble up.
That's when you'll realize that the happiness this world offers is based on things that fade away, but the joy Jesus puts in your soul lasts forever. God wants you to find refuge in Him, and even in the midst of tears, to find a song of worship rising within you.
When you come to Him, surrendering at His feet, you'll be filled and comforted. Even when you're going through tough times, trials, and struggles, the joy of the Lord will be your strength, and you'll be able to keep going, fulfilling the purpose God has for you.
By God’s grace, His joy will uphold you and give you what you need to face anything. As Psalm 28:7 (NIV) says, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."
The wealth of the country is divided up among them all. Even the king makes sure he gets his share of the profits.
You have not seen Christ, but still you love him. You cannot see him now, but you believe in him. So you are filled with a joy that cannot be explained, a joy full of glory.And you are receiving the goal of your faith—the salvation of your souls.
But the Spirit produces the fruit of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control. There is no law that says these things are wrong.
Then, if God wants me to, I will come to you with joy, and together you and I will have a time of rest.
I have told you these things so that you can have the same joy I have and so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy.
When life is good, enjoy it. But when life is hard, remember: God gives good times and hard times, and no one knows what tomorrow will bring.
We have much sadness, but we are always rejoicing. We are poor, but we are making many people rich in faith. We have nothing, but really we have everything.
But you should not be happy because the spirits obey you but because your names are written in heaven.”
In the same way, I tell you there is more joy in heaven over one sinner who changes his heart and life, than over ninety-nine good people who don’t need to change.
Let the teaching of Christ live in you richly. Use all wisdom to teach and instruct each other by singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs with thankfulness in your hearts to God.
Shout with joy to the Lord, all the earth; burst into songs and make music.Make music to the Lord with harps, with harps and the sound of singing.Blow the trumpets and the sheep’s horns; shout for joy to the Lord the King.
Then I will go to the altar of God, to God who is my joy and happiness. I will praise you with a harp, God, my God.
Lord All-Powerful, how lovely is your Temple!One day in the courtyards of your Temple is better than a thousand days anywhere else. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the Temple of my God than live in the homes of the wicked.The Lord God is like a sun and shield; the Lord gives us kindness and honor. My whole being wants to be with the living God.
You will teach me how to live a holy life. Being with you will fill me with joy; at your right hand I will find pleasure forever.
His anger lasts only a moment, but his kindness lasts for a lifetime. Crying may last for a night, but joy comes in the morning.

I pray that the God who gives hope will fill you with much joy and peace while you trust in him. Then your hope will overflow by the power of the Holy Spirit.
But let everyone who trusts you be happy; let them sing glad songs forever. Protect those who love you and who are happy because of you.
The Lord makes me very happy; all that I am rejoices in my God. He has covered me with clothes of salvation and wrapped me with a coat of goodness, like a bridegroom dressed for his wedding, like a bride dressed in jewels.
But I am like an olive tree growing in God’s Temple. I trust God’s love forever and ever.God, I will thank you forever for what you have done. With those who worship you, I will trust you because you are good.
Let us look only to Jesus, the One who began our faith and who makes it perfect. He suffered death on the cross. But he accepted the shame as if it were nothing because of the joy that God put before him. And now he is sitting at the right side of God’s throne.
Shout to the Lord, all the earth.Serve the Lord with joy; come before him with singing.
In the kingdom of God, eating and drinking are not important. The important things are living right with God, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.
But those who do right should be glad and should rejoice before God; they should be happy and glad.
Praise the Lord! Sing a new song to the Lord; sing his praise in the meeting of his people.
Rejoice and be glad, because you have a great reward waiting for you in heaven. People did the same evil things to the prophets who lived before you.

We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up.
You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil of blessing on my head; you fill my cup to overflowing.
Happy are the people who know how to praise you. Lord, let them live in the light of your presence.
All living things look to you for food, and you give it to them at the right time.You open your hand, and you satisfy all living things.
My brothers and sisters, when you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy,because anger will not help you live the right kind of life God wants.So put out of your life every evil thing and every kind of wrong. Then in gentleness accept God’s teaching that is planted in your hearts, which can save you.Do what God’s teaching says; when you only listen and do nothing, you are fooling yourselves.Those who hear God’s teaching and do nothing are like people who look at themselves in a mirror.They see their faces and then go away and quickly forget what they looked like.But the truly happy people are those who carefully study God’s perfect law that makes people free, and they continue to study it. They do not forget what they heard, but they obey what God’s teaching says. Those who do this will be made happy.People who think they are religious but say things they should not say are just fooling themselves. Their “religion” is worth nothing.Religion that God accepts as pure and without fault is this: caring for orphans or widows who need help, and keeping yourself free from the world’s evil influence.because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience.
The master answered, ‘You did well. You are a good and loyal servant. Because you were loyal with small things, I will let you care for much greater things. Come and share my joy with me.’
The Lord rewarded me because I did what was right, because I did what the Lord said was right.
Why am I so sad? Why am I so upset? I should put my hope in God and keep praising him, my Savior and my God.
Praise the Lord! I will thank the Lord with all my heart in the meeting of his good people.
The will to live can get you through sickness, but no one can live with a broken spirit.
who through our faith has brought us into that blessing of God’s grace that we now enjoy. And we are happy because of the hope we have of sharing God’s glory.
and to help the sorrowing people of Jerusalem. I will give them a crown to replace their ashes, and the oil of gladness to replace their sorrow, and clothes of praise to replace their spirit of sadness. Then they will be called Trees of Goodness, trees planted by the Lord to show his greatness.
I pray that victory will come to Israel from Mount Zion! May the Lord bring them back. Then the people of Jacob will rejoice, and the people of Israel will be glad.
My brothers and sisters, be full of joy in the Lord. It is no trouble for me to write the same things to you again, and it will help you to be more ready.
Thank the Lord because he is good. the people the Lord has freed will return there. They will enter Jerusalem with joy, and their happiness will last forever. Their gladness and joy will fill them completely, and sorrow and sadness will go far away.
The leaders gave willingly and completely to the Lord. The people rejoiced to see their leaders give so gladly, and King David was also very happy.
Shouts of joy and victory come from the tents of those who do right: “The Lord has done powerful things.”
But let those who follow you be happy and glad. They love you for saving them. May they always say, “Praise the Lord!”
At that time people will say, “Our God is doing this! We have waited for him, and he has come to save us. This is the Lord. We waited for him, so we will rejoice and be happy when he saves us.”

David told the leaders of the Levites to appoint their brothers as singers to play their lyres, harps, and cymbals and to sing happy songs.
But I am calm and quiet, like a baby with its mother. I am at peace, like a baby with its mother.
The orders of the Lord are right; they make people happy. The commands of the Lord are pure; they light up the way.

I was in trouble, so I called to the Lord. The Lord answered me and set me free.I will not be afraid, because the Lord is with me. People can’t do anything to me.
Since I am sure of this, I know I will stay with you to help you grow and have joy in your faith.
How great is your goodness that you have stored up for those who fear you, that you have given to those who trust you. You do this for all to see.
Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy good food and sweet drinks. Send some to people who have none, because today is a holy day to the Lord. Don’t be sad, because the joy of the Lord will make you strong.”
But let everyone who trusts you be happy; let them sing glad songs forever. Protect those who love you and who are happy because of you.Lord, you bless those who do what is right; you protect them like a soldier’s shield.
I will be glad and rejoice in your love, because you saw my suffering; you knew my troubles.

The people the Lord has freed will return and enter Jerusalem with joy. Their happiness will last forever. They will have joy and gladness, and all sadness and sorrow will be gone far away.
Until now you have not asked for anything in my name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy.
