112 Bible Verses about Joy

112 Bible Verses about Joy

I want to tell you about a joy that can chase away every sadness and fill your heart to overflowing. It's not a fleeting feeling based on how your day is going, but something you build day by day in the presence of the Holy Spirit.

It's your relationship with the Holy Spirit that will lead you to truly know God. And once you know Him, you'll worship Him in a way that pours out of you like a river of praise, just thinking about how amazing your Savior is. You'll understand His goodness in your life, and laughter will just bubble up.

That's when you'll realize that the happiness this world offers is based on things that fade away, but the joy Jesus puts in your soul lasts forever. God wants you to find refuge in Him, and even in the midst of tears, to find a song of worship rising within you.

When you come to Him, surrendering at His feet, you'll be filled and comforted. Even when you're going through tough times, trials, and struggles, the joy of the Lord will be your strength, and you'll be able to keep going, fulfilling the purpose God has for you.

By God’s grace, His joy will uphold you and give you what you need to face anything. As Psalm 28:7 (NIV) says, "The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him."

Ecclesiastes 5:9

James 1:2-3

Consider it wholly joyful, my brethren, whenever you are enveloped in or encounter trials of any sort or fall into various temptations. For man's anger does not promote the righteousness God [wishes and requires].So get rid of all uncleanness and the rampant outgrowth of wickedness, and in a humble (gentle, modest) spirit receive and welcome the Word which implanted and rooted [in your hearts] contains the power to save your souls. But be doers of the Word [obey the message], and not merely listeners to it, betraying yourselves [into deception by reasoning contrary to the Truth].For if anyone only listens to the Word without obeying it and being a doer of it, he is like a man who looks carefully at his [own] natural face in a mirror; For he thoughtfully observes himself, and then goes off and promptly forgets what he was like. But he who looks carefully into the faultless law, the [law] of liberty, and is faithful to it and perseveres in looking into it, being not a heedless listener who forgets but an active doer [who obeys], he shall be blessed in his doing (his life of obedience). If anyone thinks himself to be religious (piously observant of the external duties of his faith) and does not bridle his tongue but deludes his own heart, this person's religious service is worthless (futile, barren).External religious worship [religion as it is expressed in outward acts] that is pure and unblemished in the sight of God the Father is this: to visit and help and care for the orphans and widows in their affliction and need, and to keep oneself unspotted and uncontaminated from the world.Be assured and understand that the trial and proving of your faith bring out endurance and steadfastness and patience.

Prayer

My God is good and worthy of all praise. My soul magnifies you, Lord. You are wonderful and beautiful in my life. Heavenly Father, in Jesus' name, I thank you. In my darkest hours and greatest needs, you've filled me with your joy and let me experience your faithfulness firsthand. Because of you, Jesus, I can have true joy in every season of my life. As my day unfolds, please help me remember your love and promises, for they are the wellspring of all my joy. Lord Jesus, help me to always have a grateful heart, no matter what. Let your joy remain in me, even in the toughest times, because I know that every circumstance holds a valuable purpose, a unique lesson, and an opportunity to learn. Your word says, "I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the harp, O God, my God." Lord, guide me now in your presence, that I may receive your peace until it overflows and I can be a blessing to those around me. Thank you, God, for loving me, caring for me, providing for me, and protecting my family. I know that by seeking you and serving you, I will find the joy, happiness, and delight I need. All glory be to you, Lord. In Jesus' name, Amen.
