In the Old Testament, they celebrated joy with feasts and festivals. My joy comes from discovering God's will for my life, which the Bible reveals is good, pleasing, and perfect. It's not about what's happening around me or how I'm feeling at the moment, but about finding true joy in the salvation I have in Jesus.
I want to encourage you today to let go of any sadness you're holding onto. Cast out bitterness and resentment from your heart, and let the everlasting joy of Jesus flood your soul. You'll find you have so much to smile about, and so much less to feel down about.
Think about it: everything around you was created by God for your enjoyment. So smile for Him, and let your heart overflow with love in His presence. That gray sky will soon disappear, and He’ll paint a rainbow just for you.
He’s turned my mourning into dancing; He’s filled me with joy. Sure, life isn’t always happy-go-lucky, but in God, I find peace because I trust that He’s working everything out for my good (Romans 8:28).
You should each give, then, as you have decided, not with regret or out of a sense of duty; for God loves the one who gives gladly.
You will show me the path that leads to life; your presence fills me with joy and brings me pleasure forever.
Be joyful always,pray at all times,be thankful in all circumstances. This is what God wants from you in your life in union with Christ Jesus.
That is how it is with you: now you are sad, but I will see you again, and your hearts will be filled with gladness, the kind of gladness that no one can take away from you.

The laws of the Lord are right, and those who obey them are happy. The commands of the Lord are just and give understanding to the mind.

He has brought us by faith into this experience of God's grace, in which we now live. And so we boast of the hope we have of sharing God's glory!We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance,
May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.
I am so sure of you; I take such pride in you! In all our troubles I am still full of courage; I am running over with joy.
In conclusion, my friends, be joyful in your union with the Lord. I don't mind repeating what I have written before, and you will be safer if I do so.
And God's peace, which is far beyond human understanding, will keep your hearts and minds safe in union with Christ Jesus.
May you be made strong with all the strength which comes from his glorious power, so that you may be able to endure everything with patience. And with joy give thanks to the Father, who has made you fit to have your share of what God has reserved for his people in the kingdom of light.
Christ's message in all its richness must live in your hearts. Teach and instruct one another with all wisdom. Sing psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing to God with thanksgiving in your hearts.
You imitated us and the Lord; and even though you suffered much, you received the message with the joy that comes from the Holy Spirit.

How happy are the people who worship you with songs, who live in the light of your kindness!Because of you they rejoice all day long, and they praise you for your goodness.
Come, let us praise the Lord! Let us sing for joy to God, who protects us!Let us come before him with thanksgiving and sing joyful songs of praise.
Let those who wept as they planted their crops, gather the harvest with joy!Those who wept as they went out carrying the seed will come back singing for joy, as they bring in the harvest.
You have given them great joy, Lord; you have made them happy. They rejoice in what you have done, as people rejoice when they harvest grain or when they divide captured wealth.
Poor and humble people will once again find the happiness which the Lord, the holy God of Israel, gives.

How happy I was to find that some of your children live in the truth, just as the Father commanded us.
