Weddings are such a special time. They represent two people becoming one, just as God intended from the very beginning. Genesis 2:18 says, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." And in Genesis 2:24, it says, "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh."
Marriage is a huge part of God's plan. Think about it: the Bible starts with the union of Adam and Eve and ends with the wedding of Christ and his bride, the Church. In Ephesians, Paul even compares the Church to a bride prepared for her husband. This union is so important that Jesus himself chose to be present at a wedding—the wedding at Cana in Galilee—where he even saved the couple from embarrassment when they ran out of wine.
When you're united in marriage, God wants you to reflect Jesus. A pure marriage is incredibly valuable to Him. The people you should invite to your wedding are the ones who have loved and supported you from the beginning, even when others doubted you. Invite those who have prayed for you and given you honest advice for mutual growth. Don't leave out your closest family and best friends—the ones who are genuinely happy for your happiness.
Like John 3:29 says, "The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete." Your wedding invitation isn't for everyone. It's for the people who hold a special place in your heart, the ones you want to share the memories of this day with. And years later, when you look back at your wedding album, you'll smile as you remember each person who has a unique place within you.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, As a seal upon thine arm: For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals thereof are coals of fire, Which hath a most vehement flame.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
Many waters cannot quench love, Neither can the floods drown it: If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, It would utterly be contemned.
Set me as a seal upon thine heart, As a seal upon thine arm: For love is strong as death; Jealousy is cruel as the grave: The coals thereof are coals of fire, Which hath a most vehement flame. Many waters cannot quench love, Neither can the floods drown it: If a man would give all the substance of his house for love, It would utterly be contemned.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Except the LORD build the house, They labour in vain that build it: Except the LORD keep the city, The watchman waketh but in vain.
Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
And the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we do toward you:
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
Let not mercy and truth forsake thee: Bind them about thy neck; Write them upon the table of thine heart:So shalt thou find favour and good understanding In the sight of God and man.
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; For in thee do I trust: Cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; For I lift up my soul unto thee.
Likewise, ye husbands, dwell with them according to knowledge, giving honour unto the wife, as unto the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life; that your prayers be not hindered.
Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.
For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.
Thou hast ravished my heart, my sister, my spouse; Thou hast ravished my heart with one of thine eyes, With one chain of thy neck.
Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as it is fit in the Lord.Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them.
But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
It was but a little that I passed from them, But I found him whom my soul loveth: I held him, and would not let him go, Until I had brought him into my mother's house, And into the chamber of her that conceived me.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Praise ye the LORD. I will praise the LORD with my whole heart, In the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, according to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, and the great goodness toward the house of Israel, which he hath bestowed on them according to his mercies, and according to the multitude of his lovingkindnesses.
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;and to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fulness of God.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
I charge you, O daughters of Jerusalem, That ye stir not up, nor awake my love, Until he please.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
In the fear of the LORD is strong confidence: And his children shall have a place of refuge.
fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
How fair is thy love, my sister, my spouse! How much better is thy love than wine! And the smell of thine ointments than all spices!
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;
For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another.
And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female, and said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal. And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing. And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profiteth me nothing.
Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.
Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, And into his courts with praise: Be thankful unto him, and bless his name.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
His mouth is most sweet: Yea, he is altogether lovely. This is my beloved, and this is my friend, O daughters of Jerusalem.
Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; That walketh in his ways. For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: Happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.Again, if two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone? And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.
