105 Bible Verses for Wedding Invitations

105 Bible Verses for Wedding Invitations

Weddings are such a special time. They represent two people becoming one, just as God intended from the very beginning. Genesis 2:18 says, "It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him." And in Genesis 2:24, it says, "That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh."

Marriage is a huge part of God's plan. Think about it: the Bible starts with the union of Adam and Eve and ends with the wedding of Christ and his bride, the Church. In Ephesians, Paul even compares the Church to a bride prepared for her husband. This union is so important that Jesus himself chose to be present at a wedding—the wedding at Cana in Galilee—where he even saved the couple from embarrassment when they ran out of wine.

When you're united in marriage, God wants you to reflect Jesus. A pure marriage is incredibly valuable to Him. The people you should invite to your wedding are the ones who have loved and supported you from the beginning, even when others doubted you. Invite those who have prayed for you and given you honest advice for mutual growth. Don't leave out your closest family and best friends—the ones who are genuinely happy for your happiness.

Like John 3:29 says, "The bride belongs to the bridegroom. The friend who attends the bridegroom waits and listens for him, and is full of joy when he hears the bridegroom’s voice. That joy is mine, and it is now complete." Your wedding invitation isn't for everyone. It's for the people who hold a special place in your heart, the ones you want to share the memories of this day with. And years later, when you look back at your wedding album, you'll smile as you remember each person who has a unique place within you.

Prayer

Beautiful God, clothed in holiness and glory, you are worthy of all praise. My soul honors your presence, and I thank you for your goodness and kindness to me. You are my savior and the one who guides my steps, Lord. Thank you for being with me as I begin this new chapter with the one I love, the person you've placed in my life so we can fulfill your purpose with excellence. I pray that you will be the center and the rock of our love. Protect it and keep it strong, shielding it from evil, envy, and the snares of the enemy. For your word says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves. A cord of three strands is not quickly broken." Keep us from falling into temptation. Guard our eyes so that we may look only to you. Holy Spirit, grant that our family may grow according to God's will. I place in your hands all those who will be at our wedding. Give me guidance and lead me to make this an unforgettable gathering. Lord, may your grace and favor cover us all. Provide and supply all our needs, both spiritual and material. Bless us with your presence and be glorified in our marriage. In Jesus' name, Amen.
