113 Bible Verses to Rebuke Demons
You know, it's important to remember that evil is a real thing in this world. As we live out our faith, it's key to realize we're not just battling human ideas, but actual forces of darkness.
Ephesians 6:121 puts it this way: "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." Satan has legions of demons doing his bidding, actively working to undermine God's plan.
But here's the thing: Christ has given the church authority over these forces of darkness. God expects us to be aware and stand firm against the enemy, rebuking them in Jesus' name. There's no other name on earth more powerful than the name of Jesus of Nazareth.
These signs will accompany those who believe: In my name they will drive out demons; they will speak in new languages;
After Jesus called the twelve together, he gave them power and authority over all demons and to cure diseases,
But Jesus rebuked him: “Silence! Come out of him!”After throwing him into convulsions, the unclean spirit cried out with a loud voice and came out of him.
Then Jesus rebuked the demon and it came out of him, and the boy was healed from that moment.
Then the seventy-two returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons submit to us in your name!”So he said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.He said to them, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few. Therefore ask the Lord of the harvest to send out workers into his harvest.Nevertheless, do not rejoice that the spirits submit to you, but rejoice that your names stand written in heaven.”
Jesus called his twelve disciples and gave them authority over unclean spirits so they could cast them out and heal every kind of disease and sickness.
Then they brought to him a demon-possessed man who was blind and mute. Jesus healed him so that he could speak and see.
so that when even handkerchiefs or aprons that had touched his body were brought to the sick, their diseases left them and the evil spirits went out of them.
Look, I have given you authority to tread on snakes and scorpions and on the full force of the enemy, and nothing will hurt you.
So he healed many who were sick with various diseases and drove out many demons. But he would not permit the demons to speak, because they knew him.
You believe that God is one; well and good. Even the demons believe that – and tremble with fear.
You cannot drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You cannot take part in the table of the Lord and the table of demons.
So the demons came out of the man and went into the pigs, and the herd of pigs rushed down the steep slope into the lake and drowned.
It shrieked, threw him into terrible convulsions, and came out. The boy looked so much like a corpse that many said, “He is dead!”
She continued to do this for many days. But Paul became greatly annoyed, and turned and said to the spirit, “I command you in the name of Jesus Christ to come out of her!” And it came out of her at once.
And the demonic spirits begged him, “Send us into the pigs. Let us enter them.”Jesus gave them permission. So the unclean spirits came out and went into the pigs. Then the herd rushed down the steep slope into the lake, and about two thousand were drowned in the lake.
Finally, be strengthened in the Lord and in the strength of his power.Clothe yourselves with the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavens.
How much more valuable is a person than a sheep! So it is lawful to do good on the Sabbath.”
But even when Michael the archangel was arguing with the devil and debating with him concerning Moses’ body, he did not dare to bring a slanderous judgment, but said, “May the Lord rebuke you!”
The Lord said to Satan, “May the Lord rebuke you, Satan! May the Lord, who has chosen Jerusalem, rebuke you! Isn’t this man like a burning stick snatched from the fire?”
You are from God, little children, and have conquered them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world.
Disarming the rulers and authorities, he has made a public disgrace of them, triumphing over them by the cross.
The God of peace will quickly crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
But if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, then the kingdom of God has already overtaken you.
for the weapons of our warfare are not human weapons, but are made powerful by God for tearing down strongholds. We tear down argumentsand every arrogant obstacle that is raised up against the knowledge of God, and we take every thought captive to make it obey Christ.
who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from this present evil age according to the will of our God and Father,
No weapon forged to be used against you will succeed; you will refute everyone who tries to accuse you. This is what the Lord will do for his servants – I will vindicate them,” says the Lord.
When it was evening, many demon-possessed people were brought to him. He drove out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick.
Now he was casting out a demon that was mute. When the demon had gone out, the man who had been mute began to speak, and the crowds were amazed.
You will subdue a lion and a snake; you will trample underfoot a young lion and a serpent.
Be sober and alert. Your enemy the devil, like a roaring lion, is on the prowl looking for someone to devour.Resist him, strong in your faith, because you know that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are enduring the same kinds of suffering.
Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he likewise shared in their humanity, so that through death he could destroy the one who holds the power of death (that is, the devil),and set free those who were held in slavery all their lives by their fear of death.
far above every rule and authority and power and dominion and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.And God put all things under Christ’s feet, and he gave him to the church as head over all things.
So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you.Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.
They were all amazed and began to say to one another, “What’s happening here? For with authority and power he commands the unclean spirits, and they come out!”So the news about him spread into all areas of the region.
But the evil spirit replied to them, “I know about Jesus and I am acquainted with Paul, but who are you?”Then the man who was possessed by the evil spirit jumped on them and beat them all into submission. He prevailed against them so that they fled from that house naked and wounded.
God is our strong refuge; he is truly our helper in times of trouble.He says, “Stop your striving and recognize that I am God! I will be exalted over the nations! I will be exalted over the earth!”The Lord who commands armies is on our side! The God of Jacob is our protector! (Selah)For this reason we do not fear when the earth shakes, and the mountains tumble into the depths of the sea,when its waves crash and foam, and the mountains shake before the surging sea. (Selah)
As they were going away, a man who could not talk and was demon-possessed was brought to him.After the demon was cast out, the man who had been mute spoke. The crowds were amazed and said, “Never has anything like this been seen in Israel!”
We know that everyone fathered by God does not sin, but God protects the one he has fathered, and the evil one cannot touch him.
Or do you not know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God, and you are not your own?Or do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world is to be judged by you, are you not competent to settle trivial suits?For you were bought at a price. Therefore glorify God with your body.
For freedom Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not be subject again to the yoke of slavery.
Compete well for the faith and lay hold of that eternal life you were called for and made your good confession for in the presence of many witnesses.
The one true God gives me strength; he removes the obstacles in my way.He gives me the agility of a deer; he enables me to negotiate the rugged terrain.He trains my hands for battle; my arms can bend even the strongest bow.
But thanks be to God who always leads us in triumphal procession in Christ and who makes known through us the fragrance that consists of the knowledge of him in every place.
And now, Lord, pay attention to their threats, and grant to your servants to speak your message with great courage,So they seized them and put them in jail until the next day (for it was already evening).while you extend your hand to heal, and to bring about miraculous signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.”
He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed.
Now when Jesus saw that a crowd was quickly gathering, he rebuked the unclean spirit, saying to it, “Mute and deaf spirit, I command you, come out of him and never enter him again.”
Now to him who by the power that is working within us is able to do far beyond all that we ask or think,
Then Jesus came up and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.
There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears punishment has not been perfected in love.
How else can someone enter a strong man’s house and steal his property, unless he first ties up the strong man? Then he can thoroughly plunder the house.
But just as it is written, “Things that no eye has seen, or ear heard, or mind imagined, are the things God has prepared for those who love him.”
and he raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus,
So we must not grow weary in doing good, for in due time we will reap, if we do not give up.
He delivered us from the power of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of the Son he loves,
Therefore, since we have been declared righteous by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Always rejoice,constantly pray,in everything give thanks. For this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
He gives strength to those who are tired; to the ones who lack power, he gives renewed energy.
For this reason, take up the full armor of God so that you may be able to stand your ground on the evil day, and having done everything, to stand.
The Lord will deliver me from every evil deed and will bring me safely into his heavenly kingdom. To him be glory for ever and ever! Amen.
I have written to you, children, that you have known the Father. I have written to you, fathers, that you have known him who has been from the beginning. I have written to you, young people, that you are strong, and the word of God resides in you, and you have conquered the evil one.
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. So the life I now live in the body, I live because of the faithfulness of the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
“Because of the violence done to the oppressed, because of the painful cries of the needy, I will spring into action,” says the Lord. “I will provide the safety they so desperately desire.”
And let us hold unwaveringly to the hope that we confess, for the one who made the promise is trustworthy.
Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.Take my yoke on you and learn from me, because I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.“Are you the one who is to come, or should we look for another?”For my yoke is easy to bear, and my load is not hard to carry.”
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not rely on your own understanding.Acknowledge him in all your ways, and he will make your paths straight.
The Lord says, “Because he is devoted to me, I will deliver him; I will protect him because he is loyal to me.
Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.
By your power we will drive back our enemies; by your strength we will trample down our foes!
For the word of God is living and active and sharper than any double-edged sword, piercing even to the point of dividing soul from spirit, and joints from marrow; it is able to judge the desires and thoughts of the heart.
Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why couldn’t we cast it out?”And he was transfigured before them. His face shone like the sun, and his clothes became white as light.He told them, “It was because of your little faith. I tell you the truth, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; nothing will be impossible for you.”
For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is God’s power for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek.
So then, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; what is old has passed away – look, what is new has come!

It was first communicated through the Lord and was confirmed to us by those who heard him,
You will be reestablished when I vindicate you. You will not experience oppression; indeed, you will not be afraid. You will not be terrified, for nothing frightening will come near you.
And I tell you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overpower it.
For God alone I patiently wait; he is the one who delivers me.Do not trust in what you can gain by oppression! Do not put false confidence in what you can gain by robbery! If wealth increases, do not become attached to it!God has declared one principle; two principles I have heard: God is strong,and you, O Lord, demonstrate loyal love. For you repay men for what they do.He alone is my protector and deliverer. He is my refuge; I will not be upended.
And this is the confidence that we have before him: that whenever we ask anything according to his will, he hears us.And if we know that he hears us in regard to whatever we ask, then we know that we have the requests that we have asked from him.
When he calls out to me, I will answer him. I will be with him when he is in trouble; I will rescue him and bring him honor.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you believe in him, so that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
For I am sure of this very thing, that the one who began a good work in you will perfect it until the day of Christ Jesus.
Because of this, in fact, I suffer as I do. But I am not ashamed, because I know the one in whom my faith is set and I am convinced that he is able to protect what has been entrusted to me until that day.
You are my hiding place; you protect me from distress. You surround me with shouts of joy from those celebrating deliverance. (Selah)
