109 Bible verses about Intercession, Praying for Others

109 Bible verses about Intercession, Praying for Others

Because of Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, we have this incredible connection with God. Think about it – we can actually pray for other believers, and even those who haven't found their way yet, asking God to work in their lives according to His will. He wants each of us to be actively involved in this kind of prayer, lifting others up to Him.

Isn't it amazing that we can approach the throne of the Almighty with confidence, bringing our requests and concerns before Him? It's such a privilege. As the Bible says in Romans 8:33-34, "Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. Who then is the one who condemns? No one. Christ Jesus who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us."

God calls each of us to be intercessors, to be that bridge between Him and others. It's a powerful calling, and something we should embrace.

She must remain quiet. For Adam was formed first and then Eve.And Adam was not deceived, but the woman, because she was fully deceived, fell into transgression. But she will be delivered through childbearing, if she continues in faith and love and holiness with self-control.even for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.Such prayer for all is good and welcomed before God our Savior,

Psalm 103:1-2

Praise the Lord, O my soul! With all that is within me, praise his holy name!He does not deal with us as our sins deserve; he does not repay us as our misdeeds deserve. For as the skies are high above the earth, so his loyal love towers over his faithful followers. As far as the eastern horizon is from the west, so he removes the guilt of our rebellious actions from us.As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on his faithful followers. For he knows what we are made of; he realizes we are made of clay.A person’s life is like grass. Like a flower in the field it flourishes, but when the hot wind blows by, it disappears, and one can no longer even spot the place where it once grew. But the Lord continually shows loyal love to his faithful followers, and is faithful to their descendants,to those who keep his covenant, who are careful to obey his commands. The Lord has established his throne in heaven; his kingdom extends over everything.Praise the Lord, O my soul! Do not forget all his kind deeds!

Philippians 2:1-2

Therefore, if there is any encouragement in Christ, any comfort provided by love, any fellowship in the Spirit, any affection or mercy,so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow – in heaven and on earth and under the earth –and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord to the glory of God the Father. So then, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only in my presence but even more in my absence, continue working out your salvation with awe and reverence, for the one bringing forth in you both the desire and the effort – for the sake of his good pleasure – is God.Do everything without grumbling or arguing,so that you may be blameless and pure, children of God without blemish though you live in a crooked and perverse society, in which you shine as lights in the worldby holding on to the word of life so that on the day of Christ I will have a reason to boast that I did not run in vain nor labor in vain. But even if I am being poured out like a drink offering on the sacrifice and service of your faith, I am glad and rejoice together with all of you.And in the same way you also should be glad and rejoice together with me.Now I hope in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you soon, so that I too may be encouraged by hearing news about you.complete my joy and be of the same mind, by having the same love, being united in spirit, and having one purpose.

May your loyal love and faithfulness continually protect me!For innumerable dangers surround me. My sins overtake me so I am unable to see; they outnumber the hairs of my head so my strength fails me.Please be willing, O Lord, to rescue me! O Lord, hurry and help me!May those who are trying to snatch away my life be totally embarrassed and ashamed! May those who want to harm me be turned back and ashamed!May those who say to me, “Aha! Aha!” be humiliated and disgraced!May all those who seek you be happy and rejoice in you! May those who love to experience your deliverance say continually, “May the Lord be praised!”I am oppressed and needy! May the Lord pay attention to me! You are my helper and my deliverer! O my God, do not delay! He lifted me out of the watery pit, out of the slimy mud. He placed my feet on a rock and gave me secure footing. He gave me reason to sing a new song, praising our God. Therefore I exhort you, brothers and sisters, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies as a sacrifice – alive, holy, and pleasing to God – which is your reasonable service.Be devoted to one another with mutual love, showing eagerness in honoring one another.Do not lag in zeal, be enthusiastic in spirit, serve the Lord.Rejoice in hope, endure in suffering, persist in prayer.Contribute to the needs of the saints, pursue hospitality.Bless those who persecute you, bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice, weep with those who weep.Live in harmony with one another; do not be haughty but associate with the lowly. Do not be conceited.Do not repay anyone evil for evil; consider what is good before all people. If possible, so far as it depends on you, live peaceably with all people.Do not avenge yourselves, dear friends, but give place to God’s wrath, for it is written, “Vengeance is mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.Do not be conformed to this present world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may test and approve what is the will of God – what is good and well-pleasing and perfect.

Prayer

Eternal and good God, Most High Lord! I praise You for You are righteous, holy, and worthy of all supreme praise and adoration. I pray that You awaken in all hearts the longing to seek You, that Your Holy Spirit may be poured out upon them. May they prepare their hearts to cry out and intercede for the Church, families, and nations. Raise up intercessors like Nehemiah, who seek Your face in fasting, prayer, and supplication. May they have genuine love and courageous aptitude to stand in the gap for others, out of love and compassion, willing to take on the challenge of crying out for the good of their neighbors, closing every gap to the enemy. Lord, raise up passionate and committed intercessors, united in one Spirit, crying out, interceding, and bending their knees in mercy for others, compassionate and sensitive to the pain and burdens of those around them. In Jesus' name, Amen.
