Their idols are made of silver and gold – they are man-made.They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see,ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell,hands, but cannot touch, feet, but cannot walk. What good is an idol? Why would a craftsman make it? What good is a metal image that gives misleading oracles? Why would its creator place his trust in it and make such mute, worthless things?

How blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord and does not seek help from the proud or from liars!

Therefore let us confidently approach the throne of grace to receive mercy and find grace whenever we need help.

For I am the Lord your God, the one who takes hold of your right hand, who says to you, ‘Don’t be afraid, I am helping you.’

May we experience your faithfulness, O Lord, for we wait for you.
