Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.
Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for he is faithful that promised;)
but they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.
It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not.They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.
For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for?But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.
Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted in me? Hope thou in God: For I shall yet praise him For the help of his countenance.
by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience;and patience, experience; and experience, hope:and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
I had fainted, Unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living.Wait on the LORD: Be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Behold, the eye of the LORD is upon them that fear him, Upon them that hope in his mercy;To deliver their soul from death, And to keep them alive in famine.Our soul waiteth for the LORD: He is our help and our shield.For our heart shall rejoice in him, Because we have trusted in his holy name.Let thy mercy, O LORD, be upon us, According as we hope in thee.
Therefore I will look unto the LORD; I will wait for the God of my salvation: my God will hear me.
which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;
But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.
And kings shall be thy nursing fathers, and their queens thy nursing mothers: they shall bow down to thee with their face toward the earth, and lick up the dust of thy feet; and thou shalt know that I am the LORD: for they shall not be ashamed that wait for me.
remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father;
And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope; Yea, thou shalt dig about thee, and thou shalt take thy rest in safety.
Who against hope believed in hope, that he might become the father of many nations, according to that which was spoken, So shall thy seed be.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity.
looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Let Israel hope in the LORD: For with the LORD there is mercy, And with him is plenteous redemption.
For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.
For the needy shall not alway be forgotten: The expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
For the mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from thee, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, saith the LORD that hath mercy on thee.
For thou art my hope, O Lord GOD: Thou art my trust from my youth.By thee have I been holden up from the womb: Thou art he that took me out of my mother's bowels: My praise shall be continually of thee.
the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope in God: For I shall yet praise him, Who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.
Yea, let none that wait on thee be ashamed: Let them be ashamed which transgress without cause.
I will praise thee for ever, because thou hast done it: And I will wait on thy name; for it is good before thy saints.
Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
When I remember thee upon my bed, And meditate on thee in the night watches.Because thou hast been my help, Therefore in the shadow of thy wings will I rejoice.
being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ:
For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.
So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: When thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, And thy expectation shall not be cut off.
Oh how great is thy goodness, which thou hast laid up for them that fear thee; Which thou hast wrought for them that trust in thee before the sons of men!
For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us, and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.
Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;
And now, Lord, what wait I for? My hope is in thee.Deliver me from all my transgressions: Make me not the reproach of the foolish.
These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.
but Christ as a son over his own house; whose house are we, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm unto the end.
The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.
for the hope which is laid up for you in heaven, whereof ye heard before in the word of the truth of the gospel;
Thou, which hast shewed me great and sore troubles, shalt quicken me again, And shalt bring me up again from the depths of the earth.Thou shalt increase my greatness, And comfort me on every side.
The LORD is nigh unto all them that call upon him, To all that call upon him in truth.He will fulfil the desire of them that fear him: He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
And it shall be said in that day, Lo, this is our God; we have waited for him, and he will save us: this is the LORD; we have waited for him, we will be glad and rejoice in his salvation.
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
For there is hope of a tree, If it be cut down, that it will sprout again, And that the tender branch thereof will not cease.Though the root thereof wax old in the earth, And the stock thereof die in the ground;Yet through the scent of water it will bud, And bring forth boughs like a plant.
When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Uphold me according unto thy word, that I may live: And let me not be ashamed of my hope.
But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
who delivered us from so great a death, and doth deliver: in whom we trust that he will yet deliver us;
I called upon the LORD in distress: The LORD answered me, and set me in a large place.The LORD is on my side; I will not fear: What can man do unto me?
It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in man.It is better to trust in the LORD Than to put confidence in princes.
For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.
They that sow in tears Shall reap in joy.He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, Shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.
Nevertheless I am continually with thee: Thou hast holden me by my right hand.Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, And afterward receive me to glory.Whom have I in heaven but thee? And there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.My flesh and my heart faileth: But God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.
Say to them that are of a fearful heart, Be strong, fear not: behold, your God will come with vengeance, even God with a recompence; he will come and save you.
I waited patiently for the LORD; And he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, And set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
Gracious is the LORD, and righteous; Yea, our God is merciful.The LORD preserveth the simple: I was brought low, and he helped me.
Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For thus saith the Lord GOD, the Holy One of Israel; In returning and rest shall ye be saved; in quietness and in confidence shall be your strength: and ye would not.
The LORD is nigh unto them that are of a broken heart; And saveth such as be of a contrite spirit.Many are the afflictions of the righteous: But the LORD delivereth him out of them all.
We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair;persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed;
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord;rejoicing in hope; patient in tribulation; continuing instant in prayer;
There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.
For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, neither hath the eye seen, O God, beside thee, what he hath prepared for him that waiteth for him.
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; And lean not unto thine own understanding.In all thy ways acknowledge him, And he shall direct thy paths.
Wherefore let them that suffer according to the will of God commit the keeping of their souls to him in well doing, as unto a faithful Creator.
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:by whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: My God; in him will I trust.Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler, And from the noisome pestilence.He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings shalt thou trust: His truth shall be thy shield and buckler.
For the LORD God is a sun and shield: The LORD will give grace and glory: No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.O LORD of hosts, Blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.
For ye shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace: the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.Instead of the thorn shall come up the fir tree, and instead of the brier shall come up the myrtle tree: and it shall be to the LORD for a name, for an everlasting sign that shall not be cut off.
This I recall to my mind, Therefore have I hope.It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not.They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness.The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; Therefore will I hope in him.
There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear What man shall do unto me.
The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;to proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;to appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they might be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the LORD, that he might be glorified.
Hope deferred maketh the heart sick: But when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: For thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.
He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:and if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him.
LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: Thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear:
But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, Neither have entered into the heart of man, The things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:that ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the LORD, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? there is no searching of his understanding.He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.
For I know that my redeemer liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth:And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God:Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me.
Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him: Fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.Cease from anger, and forsake wrath: Fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.For evildoers shall be cut off: But those that wait upon the LORD, they shall inherit the earth.
Glory ye in his holy name: Let the heart of them rejoice that seek the LORD.Seek the LORD, and his strength: Seek his face evermore.
The wicked is driven away in his wickedness: But the righteous hath hope in his death.
Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why art thou disquieted within me? Hope thou in God; For I shall yet praise him, who is the health of my countenance, and my God.
for the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost.
He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
I have called upon thee, for thou wilt hear me, O God: Incline thine ear unto me, and hear my speech.Shew thy marvellous lovingkindness, O thou that savest by thy right hand them which put their trust in thee From those that rise up against them.
Therefore the redeemed of the LORD shall return, and come with singing unto Zion; and everlasting joy shall be upon their head: they shall obtain gladness and joy; and sorrow and mourning shall flee away.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, Pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah.
Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
Come and hear, all ye that fear God, And I will declare what he hath done for my soul.I cried unto him with my mouth, And he was extolled with my tongue.If I regard iniquity in my heart, The Lord will not hear me:But verily God hath heard me; He hath attended to the voice of my prayer.Blessed be God, which hath not turned away my prayer, Nor his mercy from me.
but sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear:
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour, and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope;
O LORD, be gracious unto us; we have waited for thee: be thou their arm every morning, our salvation also in the time of trouble.
For in the time of trouble he shall hide me in his pavilion: In the secret of his tabernacle shall he hide me; he shall set me up upon a rock.
For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee.Behold, I have graven thee upon the palms of my hands; thy walls are continually before me.
But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life.
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Because he hath set his love upon me, therefore will I deliver him: I will set him on high, because he hath known my name.He shall call upon me, and I will answer him: I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him, and honour him.
For all the promises of God in him are yea, and in him Amen, unto the glory of God by us.
And he hath put a new song in my mouth, even praise unto our God: Many shall see it, and fear, And shall trust in the LORD.
