Think about humility, gentleness, patience, and living together in harmony. These are so important for us as believers. We're all connected in Christ, part of the same spiritual body. It's a powerful image, isn't it?
Ephesians 2:15-161 talks about how Christ broke down the walls between us, creating peace and bringing us together as one. He abolished the law of commandments expressed in ordinances, that he might create in himself one new man from the two, thus making peace, and might reconcile both to God in one body through the cross, thereby killing the hostility. It's a reminder that our unity comes from Him.
And remember Jesus's prayer in John 17:21-222, just before he went to the cross? He prayed for us, that we would all be one, just as he and the Father are one. He longed for that unity, for us to reflect that incredible bond to the world. It's a pretty amazing thing to be part of.
Ye are witnesses, and God also, how holily and justly and unblameably we behaved ourselves among you that believe:
praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;
And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.
For the administration of this service not only supplieth the want of the saints, but is abundant also by many thanksgivings unto God;
Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye.
unto the church of God which is at Corinth, to them that are sanctified in Christ Jesus, called to be saints, with all that in every place call upon the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, both their's and our's:grace be unto you, and peace, from God our Father, and from the Lord Jesus Christ.
to all that be in Rome, beloved of God, called to be saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father, and the Lord Jesus Christ.
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.
Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.
But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren.
A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.
And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are.
that they all may be one; as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us: that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one:I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.
These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.
And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers.And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles.And all that believed were together, and had all things common;
And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.
And by the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought among the people; (and they were all with one accord in Solomon's porch.
it seemed good unto us, being assembled with one accord, to send chosen men unto you with our beloved Barnabas and Paul,
For as we have many members in one body, and all members have not the same office:so we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.
Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Be of the same mind one toward another. Mind not high things, but condescend to men of low estate. Be not wise in your own conceits.
Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another.
Now the God of patience and consolation grant you to be likeminded one toward another according to Christ Jesus:that ye may with one mind and one mouth glorify God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Now the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that ye may abound in hope, through the power of the Holy Ghost.
Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
Now he that planteth and he that watereth are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labour.For we are labourers together with God: ye are God's husbandry, ye are God's building.
For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.
For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is Christ.For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
But now are they many members, yet but one body.And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.
that there should be no schism in the body; but that the members should have the same care one for another.And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular.
Charity suffereth long, and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace shall be with you.
There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.
For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;and that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens with the saints, and of the household of God;and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;in whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:in whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
that the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of the vocation wherewith ye are called,with all lowliness and meekness, with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love;endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
There is one body, and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;one Lord, one faith, one baptism,one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ:till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, unto a perfect man, unto the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ:
but speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ:from whom the whole body fitly joined together and compacted by that which every joint supplieth, according to the effectual working in the measure of every part, maketh increase of the body unto the edifying of itself in love.
and be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.
Only let your conversation be as it becometh the gospel of Christ: that whether I come and see you, or else be absent, I may hear of your affairs, that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel;
If there be therefore any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any bowels and mercies,fulfil ye my joy, that ye be likeminded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind.
Let nothing be done through strife or vainglory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.
I beseech Euodias, and beseech Syntyche, that they be of the same mind in the Lord.And I intreat thee also, true yokefellow, help those women which laboured with me in the gospel, with Clement also, and with other my fellowlabourers, whose names are in the book of life.
And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;
Put on therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering;forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.And above all these things put on charity, which is the bond of perfectness.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful.
Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
and to esteem them very highly in love for their work's sake. And be at peace among yourselves.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.See that none render evil for evil unto any man; but ever follow that which is good, both among yourselves, and to all men.
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
Rebuke not an elder, but intreat him as a father; and the younger men as brethren;the elder women as mothers; the younger as sisters, with all purity.
Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.But foolish and unlearned questions avoid, knowing that they do gender strifes.
Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,to speak evil of no man, to be no brawlers, but gentle, shewing all meekness unto all men.
But exhort one another daily, while it is called To day; lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.
and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works:not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching.
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:for the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace.
Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:
ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:not rendering evil for evil, or railing for railing: but contrariwise blessing; knowing that ye are thereunto called, that ye should inherit a blessing.
And above all things have fervent charity among yourselves: for charity shall cover the multitude of sins.Use hospitality one to another without grudging.As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.
Likewise, ye younger, submit yourselves unto the elder. Yea, all of you be subject one to another, and be clothed with humility: for God resisteth the proud, and giveth grace to the humble.Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
Greet ye one another with a kiss of charity. Peace be with you all that are in Christ Jesus. Amen.
but if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
For this is the message that ye heard from the beginning, that we should love one another.
Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us: and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.But whoso hath this world's good, and seeth his brother have need, and shutteth up his bowels of compassion from him, how dwelleth the love of God in him?My little children, let us not love in word, neither in tongue; but in deed and in truth.
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another.No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us.
If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen?And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
and others save with fear, pulling them out of the fire; hating even the garment spotted by the flesh.
I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.
He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches; To him that overcometh will I give to eat of the hidden manna, and will give him a white stone, and in the stone a new name written, which no man knoweth saving he that receiveth it.
Him that overcometh will I make a pillar in the temple of my God, and he shall go no more out: and I will write upon him the name of my God, and the name of the city of my God, which is new Jerusalem, which cometh down out of heaven from my God: and I will write upon him my new name.
And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart,
Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good.Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another;
Not for that we have dominion over your faith, but are helpers of your joy: for by faith ye stand.
Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers.
forbearing one another, and forgiving one another, if any man have a quarrel against any: even as Christ forgave you, so also do ye.
Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.
But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another.And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more;
Remember them that are in bonds, as bound with them; and them which suffer adversity, as being yourselves also in the body.
Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.
Finally, be ye all of one mind, having compassion one of another, love as brethren, be pitiful, be courteous:
Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him.
