Forgiving others brings such freedom. It's like taking off a heavy backpack you've been carrying for way too long. There's a real beauty to forgiveness, and anyone who's experienced both giving and receiving it knows what I mean. God is our ultimate example, right? He shows us how it's done and calls us to practice it every single day.
So, I encourage you to forgive, just as Christ forgives you – every single day. It's time to let go and be free. Let's be real, in this life, someone is bound to hurt or offend you. But even then, we're called to learn to forgive and love again. Get that bitterness out of your system. Trust me, it'll help you grow and move forward. It'll even strengthen your relationship with God.
As children of God, we rejoice because we've received forgiveness for our sins through Jesus' sacrifice on the cross. But it's important to remember that just as we've been forgiven, our hearts need to be ready to forgive others. Mark 11:251 says, "And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive you your trespasses." As long as we repent and are faithful in forgiving others, God will completely forgive us. And that's when we can truly have a fresh start!
“But I tell you who hear me: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
Instead, as the scripture says: “If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them a drink; for by doing this you will make them burn with shame.”
“If you forgive others the wrongs they have done to you, your Father in heaven will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive others, then your Father will not forgive the wrongs you have done.
Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.
Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.
Jesus said, “Forgive them, Father! They don't know what they are doing.” They divided his clothes among themselves by throwing dice.
Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, “Lord, if my brother keeps on sinning against me, how many times do I have to forgive him? Seven times?” “No, not seven times,” answered Jesus, “but seventy times seven,
If someone has done you wrong, do not repay him with a wrong. Try to do what everyone considers to be good.Do everything possible on your part to live in peace with everybody.
Do not pay back evil with evil or cursing with cursing; instead, pay back with a blessing, because a blessing is what God promised to give you when he called you.
If your enemies are hungry, feed them; if they are thirsty, give them a drink.You will make them burn with shame, and the Lord will reward you.
But God has shown us how much he loves us—it was while we were still sinners that Christ died for us!
If we say we love God, but hate others, we are liars. For we cannot love God, whom we have not seen, if we do not love others, whom we have seen.The command that Christ has given us is this: whoever loves God must love others also.
No! Love your enemies and do good to them; lend and expect nothing back. You will then have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God. For he is good to the ungrateful and the wicked.
And now I give you a new commandment: love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another.If you have love for one another, then everyone will know that you are my disciples.”
Love is patient and kind; it is not jealous or conceited or proud;love is not ill-mannered or selfish or irritable; love does not keep a record of wrongs;love is not happy with evil, but is happy with the truth.Love never gives up; and its faith, hope, and patience never fail.
Since you are God's dear children, you must try to be like him.Try to learn what pleases the Lord.Have nothing to do with the worthless things that people do, things that belong to the darkness. Instead, bring them out to the light. (It is really too shameful even to talk about the things they do in secret.)And when all things are brought out to the light, then their true nature is clearly revealed;for anything that is clearly revealed becomes light. That is why it is said, “Wake up, sleeper, and rise from death, and Christ will shine on you.”So be careful how you live. Don't live like ignorant people, but like wise people.Make good use of every opportunity you have, because these are evil days.Don't be fools, then, but try to find out what the Lord wants you to do.Do not get drunk with wine, which will only ruin you; instead, be filled with the Spirit.Speak to one another with the words of psalms, hymns, and sacred songs; sing hymns and psalms to the Lord with praise in your hearts.Your life must be controlled by love, just as Christ loved us and gave his life for us as a sweet-smelling offering and sacrifice that pleases God.
Never take revenge, my friends, but instead let God's anger do it. For the scripture says, “I will take revenge, I will pay back, says the Lord.”
Get rid of all bitterness, passion, and anger. No more shouting or insults, no more hateful feelings of any sort.Instead, be kind and tender-hearted to one another, and forgive one another, as God has forgiven you through Christ.
“You have heard that it was said, ‘An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.’But now I tell you: do not take revenge on someone who wrongs you. If anyone slaps you on the right cheek, let him slap your left cheek too.
But if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.
Forgive us the wrongs we have done, as we forgive the wrongs that others have done to us.
So then, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you will be healed. The prayer of a good person has a powerful effect.
Try to be at peace with everyone, and try to live a holy life, because no one will see the Lord without it.Guard against turning back from the grace of God. Let no one become like a bitter plant that grows up and causes many troubles with its poison.
If you want people to like you, forgive them when they wrong you. Remembering wrongs can break up a friendship.
So watch what you do! “If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.That is how it will be on the day the Son of Man is revealed.“On that day someone who is on the roof of a house must not go down into the house to get any belongings; in the same way anyone who is out in the field must not go back to the house.Remember Lot's wife!Those who try to save their own life will lose it; those who lose their life will save it.On that night, I tell you, there will be two people sleeping in the same bed: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.Two women will be grinding meal together: one will be taken away, the other will be left behind.” The disciples asked him, “Where, Lord?” Jesus answered, “Wherever there is a dead body, the vultures will gather.”If he sins against you seven times in one day, and each time he comes to you saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
And when you stand and pray, forgive anything you may have against anyone, so that your Father in heaven will forgive the wrongs you have done.”
You are the people of God; he loved you and chose you for his own. So then, you must clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience.Be tolerant with one another and forgive one another whenever any of you has a complaint against someone else. You must forgive one another just as the Lord has forgiven you.
If you are sensible, you will control your temper. When someone wrongs you, it is a great virtue to ignore it.
“Do not judge others, so that God will not judge you,Or would you give him a snake when he asks for a fish?As bad as you are, you know how to give good things to your children. How much more, then, will your Father in heaven give good things to those who ask him!“Do for others what you want them to do for you: this is the meaning of the Law of Moses and of the teachings of the prophets. “Go in through the narrow gate, because the gate to hell is wide and the road that leads to it is easy, and there are many who travel it.But the gate to life is narrow and the way that leads to it is hard, and there are few people who find it.“Be on your guard against false prophets; they come to you looking like sheep on the outside, but on the inside they are really like wild wolves.You will know them by what they do. Thorn bushes do not bear grapes, and briers do not bear figs.A healthy tree bears good fruit, but a poor tree bears bad fruit.A healthy tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a poor tree cannot bear good fruit.And any tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown in the fire.for God will judge you in the same way you judge others, and he will apply to you the same rules you apply to others.
See that no one pays back wrong for wrong, but at all times make it your aim to do good to one another and to all people.
This is how we know what love is: Christ gave his life for us. We too, then, ought to give our lives for others!
If you love others, you will never do them wrong; to love, then, is to obey the whole Law.
When he was insulted, he did not answer back with an insult; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but placed his hopes in God, the righteous Judge.
For we are not fighting against human beings but against the wicked spiritual forces in the heavenly world, the rulers, authorities, and cosmic powers of this dark age.
All this is done by God, who through Christ changed us from enemies into his friends and gave us the task of making others his friends also.Our message is that God was making all human beings his friends through Christ. God did not keep an account of their sins, and he has given us the message which tells how he makes them his friends.
But God's mercy is so abundant, and his love for us is so great,that while we were spiritually dead in our disobedience he brought us to life with Christ. It is by God's grace that you have been saved.
And Jesus concluded, “That is how my Father in heaven will treat every one of you unless you forgive your brother from your heart.”
As the Lord's servant, you must not quarrel. You must be kind toward all, a good and patient teacher,who is gentle as you correct your opponents, for it may be that God will give them the opportunity to repent and come to know the truth.
“Do not judge others, and God will not judge you; do not condemn others, and God will not condemn you; forgive others, and God will forgive you.
We were God's enemies, but he made us his friends through the death of his Son. Now that we are God's friends, how much more will we be saved by Christ's life!
As they stood there asking him questions, he straightened up and said to them, “Whichever one of you has committed no sin may throw the first stone at her.”
You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart.
When a fool is annoyed, he quickly lets it be known. Smart people will ignore an insult.
Be always humble, gentle, and patient. Show your love by being tolerant with one another.
Don't do anything from selfish ambition or from a cheap desire to boast, but be humble toward one another, always considering others better than yourselves.
we wear ourselves out with hard work. When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure;
The second most important commandment is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’
You then, who eat only vegetables—why do you pass judgment on others? And you who eat anything—why do you despise other believers? All of us will stand before God to be judged by him.
My friends, if someone is caught in any kind of wrongdoing, those of you who are spiritual should set him right; but you must do it in a gentle way. And keep an eye on yourselves, so that you will not be tempted, too.
Go and find out what is meant by the scripture that says: ‘It is kindness that I want, not animal sacrifices.’ I have not come to call respectable people, but outcasts.”
Instead, by speaking the truth in a spirit of love, we must grow up in every way to Christ, who is the head.
But now you must get rid of all these things: anger, passion, and hateful feelings. No insults or obscene talk must ever come from your lips.
A good person brings good out of the treasure of good things in his heart; a bad person brings bad out of his treasure of bad things. For the mouth speaks what the heart is full of.
Be kind and honest and you will live a long life; others will respect you and treat you fairly.
The Lord is not slow to do what he has promised, as some think. Instead, he is patient with you, because he does not want anyone to be destroyed, but wants all to turn away from their sins.
So then, we must always aim at those things that bring peace and that help strengthen one another.
Remember this, my dear friends! Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry.My friends, consider yourselves fortunate when all kinds of trials come your way,Human anger does not achieve God's righteous purpose.
For by the blood of Christ we are set free, that is, our sins are forgiven. How great is the grace of God,
It was to this that God called you, for Christ himself suffered for you and left you an example, so that you would follow in his steps.He committed no sin, and no one ever heard a lie come from his lips.When he was insulted, he did not answer back with an insult; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but placed his hopes in God, the righteous Judge.
Do you, my friend, pass judgment on others? You have no excuse at all, whoever you are. For when you judge others and then do the same things which they do, you condemn yourself.
“Listen! I am sending you out just like sheep to a pack of wolves. You must be as cautious as snakes and as gentle as doves.
May the Lord make your love for one another and for all people grow more and more and become as great as our love for you.In this way he will strengthen you, and you will be perfect and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all who belong to him.
First of all, then, I urge that petitions, prayers, requests, and thanksgivings be offered to God for all people;but with good deeds, as is proper for women who claim to be religious.Women should learn in silence and all humility.I do not allow them to teach or to have authority over men; they must keep quiet.For Adam was created first, and then Eve.And it was not Adam who was deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and broke God's law.But a woman will be saved through having children, if she perseveres in faith and love and holiness, with modesty.for kings and all others who are in authority, that we may live a quiet and peaceful life with all reverence toward God and with proper conduct.
As the scripture says, “If you want to enjoy life and wish to see good times, you must keep from speaking evil and stop telling lies.You must turn away from evil and do good; you must strive for peace with all your heart.
When you forgive people for what they have done, I forgive them too. For when I forgive—if, indeed, I need to forgive anything—I do it in Christ's presence because of you,in order to keep Satan from getting the upper hand over us; for we know what his plans are.
In the same way, I tell you, there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine respectable people who do not need to repent.
The King will reply, ‘I tell you, whenever you did this for one of the least important of these followers of mine, you did it for me!’
We who are strong in the faith ought to help the weak to carry their burdens. We should not please ourselves.Again it says, “Rejoice, Gentiles, with God's people!”And again, “Praise the Lord, all Gentiles; praise him, all peoples!”And again, Isaiah says, “A descendant of Jesse will appear; he will come to rule the Gentiles, and they will put their hope in him.”May God, the source of hope, fill you with all joy and peace by means of your faith in him, so that your hope will continue to grow by the power of the Holy Spirit.My friends: I myself feel sure that you are full of goodness, that you have all knowledge, and that you are able to teach one another.But in this letter I have been quite bold about certain subjects of which I have reminded you. I have been bold because of the privilege God has given meof being a servant of Christ Jesus to work for the Gentiles. I serve like a priest in preaching the Good News from God, in order that the Gentiles may be an offering acceptable to God, dedicated to him by the Holy Spirit.In union with Christ Jesus, then, I can be proud of my service for God.I will be bold and speak only about what Christ has done through me to lead the Gentiles to obey God. He has done this by means of words and deeds,by the power of miracles and wonders, and by the power of the Spirit of God. And so, in traveling all the way from Jerusalem to Illyricum, I have proclaimed fully the Good News about Christ.Instead, we should all please other believers for their own good, in order to build them up in the faith.
In conclusion, my friends, fill your minds with those things that are good and that deserve praise: things that are true, noble, right, pure, lovely, and honorable.
The man answered, “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind’; and ‘Love your neighbor as you love yourself.’”
I, your Lord and Teacher, have just washed your feet. You, then, should wash one another's feet.I have set an example for you, so that you will do just what I have done for you.
In the same way your light must shine before people, so that they will see the good things you do and praise your Father in heaven.
In the same way you younger people must submit yourselves to your elders. And all of you must put on the apron of humility, to serve one another; for the scripture says, “God resists the proud, but shows favor to the humble.”Humble yourselves, then, under God's mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time.
Keep on loving one another as Christians.The priests who serve in the Jewish place of worship have no right to eat any of the sacrifice on our altar.The Jewish high priest brings the blood of the animals into the Most Holy Place to offer it as a sacrifice for sins; but the bodies of the animals are burned outside the camp.For this reason Jesus also died outside the city, in order to purify the people from sin with his own blood.Let us, then, go to him outside the camp and share his shame.For there is no permanent city for us here on earth; we are looking for the city which is to come.Let us, then, always offer praise to God as our sacrifice through Jesus, which is the offering presented by lips that confess him as Lord.Do not forget to do good and to help one another, because these are the sacrifices that please God.Obey your leaders and follow their orders. They watch over your souls without resting, since they must give to God an account of their service. If you obey them, they will do their work gladly; if not, they will do it with sadness, and that would be of no help to you.Keep on praying for us. We are sure we have a clear conscience, because we want to do the right thing at all times.And I beg you even more earnestly to pray that God will send me back to you soon.Remember to welcome strangers in your homes. There were some who did that and welcomed angels without knowing it.
For the whole Law is summed up in one commandment: “Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”
Dear friends, let us love one another, because love comes from God. Whoever loves is a child of God and knows God.
And now, my friends, good-bye! Strive for perfection; listen to my appeals; agree with one another; live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.
Who, then, can separate us from the love of Christ? Can trouble do it, or hardship or persecution or hunger or poverty or danger or death?As the scripture says, “For your sake we are in danger of death at all times; we are treated like sheep that are going to be slaughtered.”No, in all these things we have complete victory through him who loved us!
I am writing this to you, my children, so that you will not sin; but if anyone does sin, we have someone who pleads with the Father on our behalf—Jesus Christ, the righteous one.
“Happy are those whose greatest desire is to do what God requires; God will satisfy them fully!
Don't you know that your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit, who lives in you and who was given to you by God? You do not belong to yourselves but to God;Don't you know that God's people will judge the world? Well, then, if you are to judge the world, aren't you capable of judging small matters?he bought you for a price. So use your bodies for God's glory.
Of course, my friends, I really do not think that I have already won it; the one thing I do, however, is to forget what is behind me and do my best to reach what is ahead.So I run straight toward the goal in order to win the prize, which is God's call through Christ Jesus to the life above.
We know that in all things God works for good with those who love him, those whom he has called according to his purpose.
so that it is no longer I who live, but it is Christ who lives in me. This life that I live now, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave his life for me.
For God will not show mercy when he judges the person who has not been merciful; but mercy triumphs over judgment.
“Father,” he said, “if you will, take this cup of suffering away from me. Not my will, however, but your will be done.”
As for us, we have this large crowd of witnesses around us. So then, let us rid ourselves of everything that gets in the way, and of the sin which holds on to us so tightly, and let us run with determination the race that lies before us.Our human fathers punished us for a short time, as it seemed right to them; but God does it for our own good, so that we may share his holiness.When we are punished, it seems to us at the time something to make us sad, not glad. Later, however, those who have been disciplined by such punishment reap the peaceful reward of a righteous life.Lift up your tired hands, then, and strengthen your trembling knees!Keep walking on straight paths, so that the lame foot may not be disabled, but instead be healed. Try to be at peace with everyone, and try to live a holy life, because no one will see the Lord without it.Guard against turning back from the grace of God. Let no one become like a bitter plant that grows up and causes many troubles with its poison.Let no one become immoral or unspiritual like Esau, who for a single meal sold his rights as the older son.Afterward, you know, he wanted to receive his father's blessing; but he was turned back, because he could not find any way to change what he had done, even though in tears he looked for it. You have not come, as the people of Israel came, to what you can feel, to Mount Sinai with its blazing fire, the darkness and the gloom, the storm,the blast of a trumpet, and the sound of a voice. When the people heard the voice, they begged not to hear another word,Let us keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from beginning to end. He did not give up because of the cross! On the contrary, because of the joy that was waiting for him, he thought nothing of the disgrace of dying on the cross, and he is now seated at the right side of God's throne.
What shall we say, then? Should we continue to live in sin so that God's grace will increase?And so, because he died, sin has no power over him; and now he lives his life in fellowship with God.In the same way you are to think of yourselves as dead, so far as sin is concerned, but living in fellowship with God through Christ Jesus.Sin must no longer rule in your mortal bodies, so that you obey the desires of your natural self.Nor must you surrender any part of yourselves to sin to be used for wicked purposes. Instead, give yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life, and surrender your whole being to him to be used for righteous purposes.Sin must not be your master; for you do not live under law but under God's grace.What, then? Shall we sin, because we are not under law but under God's grace? By no means!Surely you know that when you surrender yourselves as slaves to obey someone, you are in fact the slaves of the master you obey—either of sin, which results in death, or of obedience, which results in being put right with God.But thanks be to God! For though at one time you were slaves to sin, you have obeyed with all your heart the truths found in the teaching you received.You were set free from sin and became the slaves of righteousness.(I use everyday language because of the weakness of your natural selves.) At one time you surrendered yourselves entirely as slaves to impurity and wickedness for wicked purposes. In the same way you must now surrender yourselves entirely as slaves of righteousness for holy purposes.Certainly not! We have died to sin—how then can we go on living in it?
And so I am sure that God, who began this good work in you, will carry it on until it is finished on the Day of Christ Jesus.
I ask God from the wealth of his glory to give you power through his Spirit to be strong in your inner selves,and I pray that Christ will make his home in your hearts through faith. I pray that you may have your roots and foundation in love,
And Jesus concluded, “In your opinion, which one of these three acted like a neighbor toward the man attacked by the robbers?”The teacher of the Law answered, “The one who was kind to him.” Jesus replied, “You go, then, and do the same.”
Christ was without sin, but for our sake God made him share our sin in order that in union with him we might share the righteousness of God.
“You are like salt for the whole human race. But if salt loses its saltiness, there is no way to make it salty again. It has become worthless, so it is thrown out and people trample on it. “You are like light for the whole world. A city built on a hill cannot be hid.
Out of the fullness of his grace he has blessed us all, giving us one blessing after another.
I have done my best in the race, I have run the full distance, and I have kept the faith.And now there is waiting for me the victory prize of being put right with God, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on that Day—and not only to me, but to all those who wait with love for him to appear.
We have courage in God's presence, because we are sure that he hears us if we ask him for anything that is according to his will.He hears us whenever we ask him; and since we know this is true, we know also that he gives us what we ask from him.
The Lord is my shepherd; I have everything I need.He lets me rest in fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pools of fresh water.He gives me new strength. He guides me in the right paths, as he has promised.
Now that by your obedience to the truth you have purified yourselves and have come to have a sincere love for other believers, love one another earnestly with all your heart.
Do your best to preserve the unity which the Spirit gives by means of the peace that binds you together.
Instead, be concerned above everything else with the Kingdom of God and with what he requires of you, and he will provide you with all these other things.
because God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose.
But have reverence for Christ in your hearts, and honor him as Lord. Be ready at all times to answer anyone who asks you to explain the hope you have in you,
where some people brought to him a paralyzed man, lying on a bed. When Jesus saw how much faith they had, he said to the paralyzed man, “Courage, my son! Your sins are forgiven.”
God is Spirit, and only by the power of his Spirit can people worship him as he really is.”
Then you will be able to live as the Lord wants and will always do what pleases him. Your lives will produce all kinds of good deeds, and you will grow in your knowledge of God.
“Happy are those who know they are spiritually poor; the Kingdom of heaven belongs to them!
So then, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message comes through preaching Christ.
We know that no children of God keep on sinning, for the Son of God keeps them safe, and the Evil One cannot harm them.
You yourselves used to be in the darkness, but since you have become the Lord's people, you are in the light. So you must live like people who belong to the light,for it is the light that brings a rich harvest of every kind of goodness, righteousness, and truth.
We also boast of our troubles, because we know that trouble produces endurance,endurance brings God's approval, and his approval creates hope.
But if any of you lack wisdom, you should pray to God, who will give it to you; because God gives generously and graciously to all.
And with all his abundant wealth through Christ Jesus, my God will supply all your needs.
“Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you. I do not give it as the world does. Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.
You, Lord, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Never rely on what you think you know.Remember the Lord in everything you do, and he will show you the right way.
By the authority of our Lord Jesus Christ I appeal to all of you, my friends, to agree in what you say, so that there will be no divisions among you. Be completely united, with only one thought and one purpose.
