150 Bible verses for repentance of sins

If we confess our sins, He is trustworthy and righteous to forgive us the sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

“Repent therefore and turn back, for the blotting out of your sins, in order that times of refreshing might come from the presence of the Master,

and My people upon whom My Name is called, shall humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their evil ways, then I shall hear from the heavens, and forgive their sin and heal their land.

Show me favour, O Elohim, According to Your kindness; According to the greatness of Your compassion, Blot out my transgressions.Wash me completely from my guilt, And cleanse me from my sin.

Let the wrong forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts. Let him return to יהוה, who has compassion on him, and to our Elohim, for He pardons much.

“I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.”

Or do you despise the riches of His kindness, and tolerance, and patience, not knowing that the kindness of Elohim leads you to repentance?

He who hides his transgressions does not prosper, But he who confesses and forsakes them finds compassion.

“I say to you that in the same way there shall be more joy in the heaven over one sinner repenting, than over ninety-nine righteous ones who need no repentance.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” says יהוה. “Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.

I acknowledged my sin to You, And my crookedness I did not hide. I have said, “I confess my transgressions to יהוה,” And You forgave the crookedness of my sin. Selah.

From that time יהושע  began to proclaim and to say, “Repent, for the reign of the heavens has drawn near.”

“But the wrong, if he turns from all his sins which he has done, and he shall guard all My laws, and shall do right-ruling and righteousness, he shall certainly live, he shall not die.“All the transgressions which he has done shall not be remembered against him – in his righteousness that he has done, he shall live.“Have I any pleasure in the death of the wrong?” declares the Master יהוה. “Is it not that he should turn from his ways, and live?

יהוה  is not slow in regard to the promise, as some count slowness, but is patient toward us, not wishing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.

Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim, And renew a steadfast spirit within me.

“Yet even now,” declares יהוה, “turn to Me with all your heart, and with fasting, and with weeping, and with mourning.”And tear your heart and not your garments, and turn back to יהוה  your Elohim, for He shows favour and is compassionate, patient, and of great kindness, and He shall relent concerning the evil.

“But go and learn what this means, ‘I desire compassion and not offering.’ For I did not come to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners.”

For thus said the Master יהוה, the Set-apart One of Yisra’ĕ

‘Only, acknowledge your crookedness, because you have transgressed against יהוה  your Elohim, and have scattered your ways to strangers under every green tree, and you have not obeyed My voice,’ declares יהוה.

“I say to you, in the same way there is joy in the presence of the messengers of Elohim over one sinner repenting.”

Draw near to Elohim and He shall draw near to you. Cleanse hands, sinners. And cleanse the hearts, you double-minded!

“Bear, therefore, fruits worthy of repentance,

“And I shall give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you. And I shall take the heart of stone out of your flesh, and I shall give you a heart of flesh,

For I confess my crookedness; I am sorry over my sin.

“Truly, then, having overlooked these times of ignorance, Elohim now commands all men everywhere to repent,

and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in His Name to all nations, beginning at Yerushalayim.

“I shall wipe out your transgressions like a cloud, and your sins like a mist. Return to Me, for I shall redeem you.”

O Yah, if You should watch crookednesses, O יהוה, who would stand?But with You there is forgiveness, That You might be feared.

‘For after my turning back, I repented. And after I was instructed, I struck myself on the thigh. I was ashamed, even humiliated, for I bore the reproach of my youth.’

יהוה  is near to the broken-hearted, And saves those whose spirit is crushed.

For Your Name’s sake, O יהוה, You shall pardon my crookedness, though it is great.

My little children, I write this to you, so that you do not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Intercessor with the Father, יהושע  Messiah, a righteous One.And He Himself is an atoning offering for our sins, and not for ours only but also for all the world.

Fools scoff at guilt, But among the straight there is delight.

For the wages of sin is death, but the favourable gift of Elohim is everlasting life in Messiah יהושע  our Master.

As far as east is from west, So far has He removed our transgressions from us.

Therefore thus said יהוה, “If you turn back, then I shall bring you back. Before Me you shall stand. And if you take out the precious from the worthless, you shall become as My mouth. Let them return to you, but do not return to them.

‘Having risen, I shall go to my father and say to him, “Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you,and I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Make me like one of your hired servants.” ’

and, “Their sins and their lawlessnesses I shall remember no more.”

“I, I am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and remember your sins no more.

And having heard this, they were silent, and praised Elohim, saying, “Then Elohim has indeed also given to the gentiles repentance to life.”

And she said, “No one, Master.” And יהושע  said to her, “Neither do I condemn you. Go and sin no more.”

For You, יהוה, are good, and ready to forgive, And great in kindness to all those who call upon You.

I now rejoice, not that you were made sad, but that you were saddened into repenting. For you were made sad according to Elohim, so that you suffered no loss from us.For sadness according to Elohim works repentance to deliverance, not to be regretted, but the sadness of the world works death.

The slaughterings of Elohim are a broken spirit, A heart broken and crushed, O Elohim, These You do not despise.

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of trespasses, according to the riches of His favour,

how much more shall the blood of the Messiah, who through the everlasting Spirit offered Himself unblemished to Elohim, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?

and said, “Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become as little children, you shall by no means enter into the reign of the heavens.

For thus declares the high and exalted One who dwells forever, whose Name is set-apart, “I dwell in the high and set-apart place, with him who has a bruised and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of bruised ones.

But Zakkai stood up and said to the Master, “Look, Master, I give half of my possessions to the poor. And if I have taken whatever from anyone by false accusation, I repay fourfold.”And יהושע  said to him, “Today deliverance has come to this house – since he also is a son of Aḇ

but declared first to those in Damascus and in Yerushalayim, and in all the country of Yehuḏ

and they shall turn back unto their heart in the land where they have been taken captive, and shall turn, and make supplication to You in the land of those who took them captive, saying, ‘We have sinned and acted crookedly, we have committed wrong,’and they shall turn back to You with all their heart and with all their being in the land of their enemies who led them away captive, and shall pray to You toward their land which You gave to their fathers, the city which You have chosen and the House which I have built for Your Name,

That if you confess with your mouth the Master יהושע  and believe in your heart that Elohim has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved.For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and one confesses with the mouth, and so is saved.

The Spirit of the Master יהוה  is upon Me, because יהוה  has anointed Me to bring good news to the meek. He has sent Me to bind up the broken-hearted, to proclaim release to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound,

“Therefore I judge you, O house of Yisra’ĕ“Cast away from you all the transgressions, by which you have transgressed, and make for yourselves a new heart and a new spirit. For why should you die, O house of Yisra’ĕ

Who is an ĚHe shall turn back, He shall have compassion on us, He shall trample upon our crookednesses! And You throw all our sins into the depths of the sea!

Do not remember the sins of my youth, and my transgressions; According to Your kindness remember me, For Your goodness’ sake, O יהוה.

Trustworthy is the word and worthy of all acceptance, that Messiah יהושע  came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost.

I have thought upon my ways, And turned my feet to Your witnesses.

“But the tax collector standing at a distance would not even raise his eyes to the heaven, but was beating his breast, saying, ‘Elohim, show favour unto me, a sinner!’

“Come to Me, all you who labour and are burdened, and I shall give you rest.“Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am meek and humble in heart, and you shall find rest for your beings.“For My yoke is gentle and My burden is light.”

There is, then, now no condemnation to those who are in Messiah יהושע, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

For I know my transgressions, And my sin is ever before me.Against You, You alone, have I sinned, And done evil in Your eyes; That You might be proven right in Your words; Be clear when You judge.

who Himself bore our sins in His body on the timber, so that we, having died to sins, might live unto righteousness – by whose stripes you were healed.

“Blessed are those who mourn, because they shall be comforted.

I have strayed like a lost sheep; Seek Your servant, For I have not forgotten Your commands.

But He was pierced for our transgressions, He was crushed for our crookednesses. The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.

And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were set apart, but you were declared right in the Name of the Master יהושע  and by the Spirit of our Elohim.

But Elohim proves His own love for us, in that while we were still sinners, Messiah died for us.

Trust in יהוה  with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;Know Him in all your ways, And He makes all your paths straight.

Search me, O ĚAnd see if an idolatrous way is in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.

And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you prove what is that good and well-pleasing and perfect desire of Elohim.

“Say to them, ‘As I live,’ declares the Master יהוה, ‘I have no pleasure in the death of the wrong, but that the wrong turn from his way and live. Turn back, turn back from your evil ways! For why should you die, O house of Yisra’ĕ

And do not enter into right-ruling with Your servant, For before You no one living is in the right.

“And there is no deliverance in anyone else, for there is no other Name under the heaven given among men by which we need to be saved.”

And the Elohim of peace Himself set you completely apart, and your entire spirit, and being, and body - be preserved blameless at the coming of our Master יהושע  Messiah!

for all have sinned and fall short of the esteem of Elohim,being declared right, without paying, by His favour through the redemption which is in Messiah יהושע,

Therefore, having left the word of the beginning of the Messiah, let us go on to perfection,not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of belief toward Elohim,

For by favour you have been saved, through belief, and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim,it is not by works, so that no one should boast.

Therefore, if anyone is in Messiah, he is a renewed creature – the old matters have passed away, see, all matters have become renewed!

“I say to you, no! But unless you repent you shall all perish in the same way.

‘And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.

Who discerns mistakes? Declare me innocent from those that are secret,Also keep Your servant back from presumptuous ones, Do not let them rule over me. Then shall I be perfect, and innocent of great transgression.

Having, then, these promises, beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all defilement of the flesh and spirit, perfecting set-apartness in the fear of Elohim.

If I have seen wickedness in my heart, יהוה  would not hear.Truly, Elohim has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer.Blessed be Elohim, Who has not turned away my prayer, Nor His kindness from me!

יהושע  said to him, “I am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

By kindness and truth crookedness is pardoned. And in the fear of יהוה  one turns away from evil.

Therefore, having been declared right by belief, we have peace with Elohim through our Master יהושע  Messiah,

that if our heart condemns us, Elohim is greater than our heart, and knows all.Beloved ones, if our heart does not condemn us, we have boldness toward Elohim.

For evils without number have surrounded me; My crookednesses have overtaken me, And I have been unable to see; They became more than the hairs of my head; And my heart has failed me.

“And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against the heaven, and before you, and I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’

And the prayer of the belief shall save the sick, and the Master shall raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he shall be forgiven.Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, so that you are healed. The earnest prayer of a righteous one accomplishes much.

in meekness instructing those who are in opposition, lest somehow Elohim gives them repentance unto a thorough knowledge of the truth,and they come to their senses, out of the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his desire.

Before I was afflicted I myself was going astray, But now I have guarded Your word.

“All that the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I shall by no means cast out.

“If, then, you bring your gift to the altar, and there remember that your brother holds whatever against you,leave your gift there before the altar, and go, first make peace with your brother, and then come and offer your gift.

In this is love, not that we loved Elohim, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be an atoning offering for our sins.

let us draw near with a true heart in completeness of belief, having our hearts sprinkled from a wicked conscience and our bodies washed with clean water.

that you put off – with regard to your former way of life – the old man, being corrupted according to the desires of the deceit,and to be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that you put on the renewed man which was created according to Elohim, in righteousness and set-apartness of the truth.

“And all these My hand have made, and all these that exist,” declares יהוה. “Yet to such a one I look: on him who is poor and bruised of spirit, and who trembles at My Word.

Afterward יהושע  found him in the Set-apart Place, and said to him, “See, you have been made well. Sin no more, so that no worse matter befalls you.”

And this is the boldness that we have in Him, that if we ask whatever according to His desire, He hears us.And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.

So then subject yourselves to Elohim. Resist the devil and he shall flee from you.

Pursue peace with all, and pursue apartness without which no one shall see the Master.

Brothers, I do not count myself to have laid hold of it yet, but only this: forgetting what is behind and reaching out for what lies ahead,I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of Elohim in Messiah יהושע.

For we all have to appear before the judgment seat of Messiah, in order for each one to receive according to what he has done in the body, whether good or evil.

And those who are of Messiah have impaled the flesh with its passions and the desires.

No trial has overtaken you except such as is common to man, and Elohim is trustworthy, who shall not allow you to be tried beyond what you are able, but with the trial shall also make the way of escape, enabling you to bear it.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of יהושע  Messiah His Son cleanses us from all sin.

And he went out to face Asa, and said to him, “Hear me, Asa, and all Yehuḏ

Humble yourselves, then, under the mighty hand of Elohim, so that He exalts you in due time,casting all your worry upon Him, for He is concerned about you.

“I indeed immerse you in water unto repentance, but He who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to bear. He shall immerse you in the Set-apart Spirit and fire.

And be kind towards one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as Elohim also forgave you in Messiah.

I have sought Your face with all my heart; Show me favour according to Your word.

And he said to יהושע, “Master, remember me when You come into Your reign.”And יהושע  said to him, “Truly, I say to you today, you shall be with Me in Paradise.”

O יהוה, You have searched me And know me.You know my sitting down and my rising up; You understand my thought from afar.

but those who wait on יהוה  renew their strength, they raise up the wing like eagles, they run and are not weary, they walk and do not faint.

“To this One all the prophets bear witness, that through His Name, everyone believing in Him does receive forgiveness of sins.”

“Ask and it shall be given to you, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you.“For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.

יהושע  answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born from above, he is unable to see the reign of Elohim.”

For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, so that in Him we might become the righteousness of Elohim.

יהוה  is near to all who call upon Him, To all who call upon Him in truth.He does the desire of those who fear Him; And He hears their cry and saves them.

“I love those who love me, And those who earnestly seek me do find me.

Cleanse me with hyssop, and I am clean; Wash me, and I am whiter than snow.

But now, thus said יהוה, your Creator, O Yaʽ

We were therefore buried with Him through immersion into death, that as Messiah was raised from the dead by the esteem of the Father, so also we should walk in newness of life.

“Repent therefore of this evil of yours, and plead with Elohim to forgive you the intention of your heart.

For the saving Gift of Elohim has appeared to all men,instructing us to renounce wickedness and worldly lusts, and to live sensibly, righteously, and reverently in the present age,

יהוה  is supporting all who are falling, And raising up all who are bowed down.

“Therefore I say to you, her many sins have been forgiven, because she loved much. But to whom little is forgiven, he loves little.”

For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Master. Walk as children of light –

And for this reason do your utmost to add to your belief uprightness, to uprightness knowledge,to knowledge self-control, to self-control endurance, to endurance reverence,to reverence brotherly affection, and to brotherly affection love.For if these are in you and increase, they cause you to be neither inactive nor without fruit in the knowledge of our Master יהושע  Messiah.For he in whom these are not present is blind, being shortsighted, and has forgotten that he has been cleansed from his old sins.

Then Kĕיהושע  said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.

How great is Your goodness, Which You have laid up for those fearing You, Which You have prepared for those taking refuge in You In the sight of the sons of men!

For you were bought with a price, therefore esteem Elohim in your body and in your spirit, which are of Elohim.

Restore to me the joy of Your deliverance, And uphold me, Noble Spirit!

To my heart You have said, “Seek My face.” Your face, יהוה, I seek.

“Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him.“And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day comes back to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor messengers nor principalities nor powers, neither the present nor the future,nor height nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of Elohim which is in Messiah יהושע  our Master.

“Him, a Prince and a Saviour, Elohim has exalted to His right hand, to give repentance to Yisra’ĕ

Who forgives all your crookednesses, Who heals all your diseases,

because it has been written, “Be set-apart, for I am set-apart.”

Do not be wise in your own eyes; Fear יהוה  and turn away from evil.

And now, O יהוה, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You our potter. And we are all the work of Your hand.

The spirit of a man is the lamp of יהוה, Searching all his inmost parts.

We too, then, having so great a cloud of witnesses all around us, let us lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race set before us,looking to the Princely Leader and Perfecter of our belief, יהושע, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the stake, having despised the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.

And in the same way the Spirit does help in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray, but the Spirit Himself pleads our case for us with groanings unutterable.And He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the set-apart ones according to Elohim.
