and be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
forbearing one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Look to yourself, lest you too be tempted.
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow in his steps. He committed no sin; no guile was found on his lips. When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten; but he trusted to him who judges justly.
We know that in everything God works for good with those who love him, who are called according to his purpose.
that there may be no discord in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
He who is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.
For thou, O Lord, art good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call on thee.
To the married I give charge, not I but the Lord, that the wife should not separate from her husband(but if she does, let her remain single or else be reconciled to her husband)—and that the husband should not divorce his wife.
He has showed you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God?
Take heed to yourselves; if your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him;so will it be on the day when the Son of man is revealed. On that day, let him who is on the housetop, with his goods in the house, not come down to take them away; and likewise let him who is in the field not turn back.Remember Lot's wife.Whoever seeks to gain his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life will preserve it.I tell you, in that night there will be two in one bed; one will be taken and the other left. There will be two women grinding together; one will be taken and the other left.”And they said to him, “Where, Lord?” He said to them, “Where the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, and says, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him.”
Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man has great power in its effects.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; even as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
“Come now, let us reason together, says the Lord: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
Let no evil talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for edifying, as fits the occasion, that it may impart grace to those who hear.
Then let us no more pass judgment on one another, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand;
but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” I will all the more gladly boast of my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
So whatever you wish that men would do to you, do so to them; for this is the law and the prophets.
The Lord your God is in your midst, a warrior who gives victory; he will rejoice over you with gladness, he will renew you in his love; he will exult over you with loud singing
Therefore a man leaves his father and his mother and cleaves to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger,Count it all joy, my brethren, when you meet various trials, for the anger of man does not work the righteousness of God.
And the Lord's servant must not be quarrelsome but kindly to every one, an apt teacher, forbearing,
For thus says the high and lofty One who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: “I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Do all things without grumbling or questioning, that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared.”
Finally, brethren, farewell. Mend your ways, heed my appeal, agree with one another, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Finally, all of you, have unity of spirit, sympathy, love of the brethren, a tender heart and a humble mind.
Likewise you that are younger be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we are not contending against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world rulers of this present darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the equipment of the gospel of peace;besides all these, taking the shield of faith, with which you can quench all the flaming darts of the evil one.And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.Pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints, and also for me, that utterance may be given me in opening my mouth boldly to proclaim the mystery of the gospel,“Honor your father and mother” (this is the first commandment with a promise),for which I am an ambassador in chains; that I may declare it boldly, as I ought to speak. Now that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts.Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying.“that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.Bind them upon your heart always; tie them about your neck. When you walk, they will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
If any one does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his own family, he has disowned the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
As for you, you meant evil against me; but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such there is no law.
Do nothing from selfishness or conceit, but in humility count others better than yourselves.for he nearly died for the work of Christ, risking his life to complete your service to me.Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
So if you are offering your gift at the altar, and there remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there before the altar and go; first be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
May the God of steadfastness and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, without uncertainty or insincerity. And the harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
I appeal to you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no dissensions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was yet at a distance, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
But Esau ran to meet him, and embraced him, and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.
“Thus says the Lord of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy each to his brother,
And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them; and after that his brothers talked with him.
Owe no one anything, except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, lowliness, meekness, and patience,
See that none of you repays evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to all.
Beloved, let us love one another; for love is of God, and he who loves is born of God and knows God.
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us; and we ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.”
Then Abram said to Lot, “Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen; for we are kinsmen.
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;that is, in Christ God was reconciling the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
For he is our peace, who has made us both one, and has broken down the dividing wall of hostility,
complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.
Strive for peace with all men, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
We love, because he first loved us.By this you know the Spirit of God: every spirit which confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,If any one says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen. And this commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should love his brother also.
Know this, my beloved brethren. Let every man be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger,
Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful;it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
Now that you also may know how I am and what I am doing, Tychicus the beloved brother and faithful minister in the Lord will tell you everything.I have sent him to you for this very purpose, that you may know how we are, and that he may encourage your hearts.Peace be to the brethren, and love with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.Grace be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with love undying.“that it may be well with you and that you may live long on the earth.”
Above all hold unfailing your love for one another, since love covers a multitude of sins.
Therefore, since we are justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father also will forgive you;but if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
