Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.
bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive.
Brothers,[1] if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted.
For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps.He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth.When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,[7] for those who are called according to his purpose.
that there may be no division in the body, but that the members may have the same care for one another.
And your ancient ruins shall be rebuilt; you shall raise up the foundations of many generations; you shall be called the repairer of the breach, the restorer of streets to dwell in.
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil.For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.
Repay no one evil for evil, but give thought to do what is honorable in the sight of all.
For you, O Lord, are good and forgiving, abounding in steadfast love to all who call upon you.
To the married I give this charge (not I, but the Lord): the wife should not separate from her husband(but if she does, she should remain unmarried or else be reconciled to her husband), and the husband should not divorce his wife.
He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the LORD require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness,[2] and to walk humbly with your God?
Pay attention to yourselves! If your brother sins, rebuke him, and if he repents, forgive him,and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, 'I repent,' you must forgive him."
Therefore, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person has great power as it is working.[2]
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another.By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
"Come now, let us reason[3] together, says the LORD: though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they are red like crimson, they shall become like wool.
Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.
Therefore let us not pass judgment on one another any longer, but rather decide never to put a stumbling block or hindrance in the way of a brother.
Knowing their thoughts, he said to them, "Every kingdom divided against itself is laid waste, and no city or house divided against itself will stand.
But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
"So whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
The LORD your God is in your midst, a mighty one who will save; he will rejoice over you with gladness; he will quiet you by his love; he will exult over you with loud singing.
Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother and hold fast to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;for the anger of man does not produce the righteousness that God requires.[5]
And the Lord's servant[4] must not be quarrelsome but kind to everyone, able to teach, patiently enduring evil,
For thus says the One who is high and lifted up, who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy: "I dwell in the high and holy place, and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit, to revive the spirit of the lowly, and to revive the heart of the contrite.
Do all things without grumbling or questioning,that you may be blameless and innocent, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and twisted generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
and he will go before him in the spirit and power of Elijah, to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the disobedient to the wisdom of the just, to make ready for the Lord a people prepared."
Finally, brothers,[1] rejoice. Aim for restoration, comfort one another,[2] agree with one another, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Finally, all of you, have unity of mind, sympathy, brotherly love, a tender heart, and a humble mind.
Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. Clothe yourselves, all of you, with humility toward one another, for "God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble."
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),"that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land."Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the discipline and instruction of the Lord.
My son, keep your father's commandment, and forsake not your mother's teaching.Bind them on your heart always; tie them around your neck.When you walk, they[4] will lead you; when you lie down, they will watch over you; and when you awake, they will talk with you.
But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever.
As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people[2] should be kept alive, as they are today.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law.
Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others.
So if you are offering your gift at the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you,leave your gift there before the altar and go. First be reconciled to your brother, and then come and offer your gift.
May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus,
But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, open to reason, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial and sincere.And a harvest of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
I appeal to you, brothers,[1] by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgment.
And he arose and came to his father. But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and felt compassion, and ran and embraced him and kissed him.
But Esau ran to meet him and embraced him and fell on his neck and kissed him, and they wept.
"Thus says the LORD of hosts, Render true judgments, show kindness and mercy to one another,
And he kissed all his brothers and wept upon them. After that his brothers talked with him.
Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassion, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience,
See that no one repays anyone evil for evil, but always seek to do good to one another and to everyone.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God.
Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ,
By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
So they are no longer two but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."
Then Abram said to Lot, "Let there be no strife between you and me, and between your herdsmen and my herdsmen, for we are kinsmen.[1]
All this is from God, who through Christ reconciled us to himself and gave us the ministry of reconciliation;that is, in Christ God was reconciling[3] the world to himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and entrusting to us the message of reconciliation.
For he himself is our peace, who has made us both one and has broken down in his flesh the dividing wall of hostility
complete my joy by being of the same mind, having the same love, being in full accord and of one mind.
Then Peter came up and said to him, "Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?"Jesus said to him, "I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.[7]
Strive for peace with everyone, and for the holiness without which no one will see the Lord.
We love because he first loved us.If anyone says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen cannot[1] love God whom he has not seen.And this commandment we have from him: whoever loves God must also love his brother.
Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.
Know this, my beloved brothers: let every person be quick to hear, slow to speak, slow to anger;
Love is patient and kind; love does not envy or boast; it is not arrogantor rude. It does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful;
A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right."Honor your father and mother" (this is the first commandment with a promise),"that it may go well with you and that you may live long in the land."
Therefore, since we have been justified by faith, we[1] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
For if you forgive others their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you,but if you do not forgive others their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
