But I tell you, love your enemies, [bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you], and pray for those who [mistreat you and] persecute you,
"But I tell you who hear: love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, and pray for those who mistreat you.
Therefore "If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head."
"For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive men, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as the Lord forgave you, so you also do.
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." Dividing his garments among them, they cast lots.
Then Peter came to him and said, "Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Until seven times?"Jesus said to him, "I do not tell you until seven times, but, until seventy times seven.
Repay no one evil for evil. Respect what is honorable in the sight of all men.If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men.
not rendering evil for evil, or reviling for reviling; but instead blessing; because to this were you called, that you may inherit a blessing.
Do not rejoice when your enemy falls. Do not let your heart be glad when he is overthrown;
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat. If he is thirsty, give him water to drink:for you will heap coals of fire on his head, and YHWH will reward you.
But God commends his own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
If a man says, "I love God," and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, cannot love God whom he has not seen.This commandment we have from him, that he who loves God should also love his brother.
But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing back; and your reward will be great, and you will be children of the Most High; for he is kind toward the unthankful and evil.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also must love one another.By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Love is patient and is kind; love does not envy. Love does not brag, is not proud,does not behave itself inappropriately, does not seek its own way, is not irritable, does not keep a record of wrongs;does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Be therefore imitators of God, as beloved children.Walk in love, even as Christ also loved you, and gave himself up for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling fragrance.
Do not seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, "Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord."
Above all things be earnest in your love among yourselves, for love covers a multitude of sins.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you.
"You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth.'But I tell you, do not resist him who is evil; but whoever strikes you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also.
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Therefore confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of the righteous is powerfully effective.
Follow after peace with all men, and the sanctification without which no man will see the Lord,looking carefully lest there be any man who falls short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it;
He who covers an offense promotes love; but he who repeats a matter separates best friends.
Be careful. If your brother sins, rebuke him. If he repents, forgive him.If he sins against you seven times in the day, and seven times returns to you, saying, 'I repent,' you shall forgive him."
Whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone; so that your Father, who is in heaven, may also forgive you your transgressions."
Put on therefore, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, a heart of compassion, kindness, lowliness, humility, and perseverance;bearing with one another, and forgiving each other, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as the Lord forgave you, so you also do.
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger. It is his glory to overlook an offense.
In love of the brothers be tenderly affectionate one to another; outdo one another in showing honor;
"Do not judge, so that you won't be judged.For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.
For you, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive; abundant in loving kindness to all those who call on you.
See that no one returns evil for evil to anyone, but always follow after that which is good, for one another, and for all.
By this we know love, because he laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers.
Should not you also have had mercy on your fellow servant, even as I had mercy on you?'
Who, when he was cursed, did not curse back. When he suffered, did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously;
For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of this darkness, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places.
But all things are of God, who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and gave to us the ministry of reconciliation;namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not reckoning to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
But God, being rich in mercy, for his great love with which he loved us,even when we were dead through our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),
So my heavenly Father will also do to you, if you do not each forgive your brother from your heart."
The Lord's servant must not quarrel, but be gentle towards all, able to teach, patient,in gentleness correcting those who oppose him: perhaps God may give them repentance leading to a full knowledge of the truth,
Do not judge, and you won't be judged. Do not condemn, and you won't be condemned. Set free, and you will be set free.
For if, while we were enemies, we were reconciled to God through the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we will be saved by his life.
But when they continued asking him, he looked up and said to them, "He who is without sin among you, let him throw the first stone at her."
doing nothing through rivalry or through conceit, but in humility, each counting others better than himself;
We toil, working with our own hands. When people curse us, we bless. Being persecuted, we endure.
But you, why do you judge your brother? Or you again, why do you despise your brother? For we will all stand before the judgment seat of God.
Brothers, even if a man is caught in some fault, you who are spiritual must restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness; looking to yourself so that you also are not tempted.
But you go and learn what this means: 'I desire mercy, and not sacrifice,' for I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
The merciful man does good to his own soul, but he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
but speaking truth in love, we may grow up in all things into him, who is the head, Christ;
but now you also put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and shameful speaking out of your mouth.
The good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings out that which is good, and the evil man out of the evil treasure brings out that which is evil, for out of the abundance of the heart, his mouth speaks.
He who says he is in the light and hates his brother, is in the darkness even until now.He who loves his brother remains in the light, and there is no occasion for stumbling in him.But he who hates his brother is in the darkness, and walks in the darkness, and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some count slowness; but is patient with you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
So then, let us follow after things which make for peace, and things by which we may build one another up.
This you know, my beloved brothers. But let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, and slow to anger;for the anger of man does not accomplish the righteousness of God.
in whom we have our redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace,
For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, that you should follow his steps,who did not sin, "neither was deceit found in his mouth."Who, when he was cursed, did not curse back. When he suffered, did not threaten, but committed himself to him who judges righteously;
Therefore you are without excuse, O man, whoever you are who judge. For in that which you judge another, you condemn yourself. For you who judge practice the same things.
"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents, and harmless as doves.
and the Lord make you to increase and abound in love one toward another, and toward all men, even as we also do toward you,to the end he may establish your hearts blameless in holiness before our God and Father, at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all his saints.
I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks, be made for all men:for kings and all who are in high places; that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence.
For, "He who would love life, and see good days, let him keep his tongue from evil, and his lips from speaking deceit.Let him turn away from evil, and do good. Let him seek peace, and pursue it.
Now I also forgive whomever you forgive anything. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ,that no advantage may be gained over us by Satan; for we are not ignorant of his schemes.
I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.
"The King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.'
Now we who are strong ought to bear the weaknesses of the weak, and not to please ourselves.Let each one of us please his neighbor for that which is good, to be building him up.
Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things.
He answered, "You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind; and your neighbor as yourself."
If I then, the Lord and the Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another's feet.For I have given you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.
Even so, let your light shine before men; that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.
Likewise, you younger ones, be subject to the elder. Yes, all of you clothe yourselves with humility, towards one another; for "God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble."Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time;
Let brotherly love continue.Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for in doing so, some have entertained angels without knowing it.
For the whole law is fulfilled in one word, in this: "You shall love your neighbor as yourself."
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God, and knows God.
Finally, brothers, rejoice. Be perfected, be comforted, be of the same mind, live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Could oppression, or anguish, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?Even as it is written, "For your sake we are killed all day long. We were accounted as sheep for the slaughter."No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
My little children, I write these things to you so that you may not sin. If anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the righteous.
Or do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own,for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body.
Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in the power of your hand to do it.
Brothers, I do not regard myself as yet having taken hold, but one thing I do. Forgetting the things which are behind, and reaching forward to the things which are ahead,I press on toward the goal for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.
We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose.
I have been crucified with Christ, and it is no longer I that live, but Christ living in me. That life which I now live in the flesh, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself up for me.
For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
saying, "Father, if you are willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done."
Therefore let us also, seeing we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,looking to Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, disregarding its shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?May it never be! We who died to sin, how could we live in it any longer?
being confident of this very thing, that he who began a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ.
that he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, that you may be strengthened with power through his Spirit in the inward man;that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; to the end that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
Now which of these three do you think seemed to be a neighbor to him who fell among the robbers?"He said, "He who showed mercy on him." Then Jesus said to him, "Go and do likewise."
For him who knew no sin he made to be sin on our behalf; so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.
"You are the salt of the earth, but if the salt has lost its flavor, with what will it be salted? It is then good for nothing, but to be cast out and trodden under the feet of men.You are the light of the world. A city located on a hill cannot be hidden.
I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith.From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.
This is the boldness which we have toward him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us.And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters.He restores my soul. He guides me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Seeing you have purified your souls in your obedience to the truth in sincere brotherly affection, love one another from a pure heart fervently:
But seek first the Kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
But sanctify in your hearts Christ as Lord; and always be ready to give an answer to everyone who asks you a reason concerning the hope that is in you, yet with humility and fear:
And behold, they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up! Your sins are forgiven."
that you may walk worthily of the Lord, to please him in all respects, bearing fruit in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God;
We know that whoever is born of God does not sin, but he who was born of God protects him, and the evil one does not touch him.
For you were once darkness, but are now light in the Lord. Walk as children of light,for the fruit of the light is in all goodness and righteousness and truth,
Not only this, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering works perseverance;and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope:
But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him.
My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
YHWH is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
You will keep him in perfect peace whose thoughts are fixed on you, because he trusts in you.
Trust in YHWH with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight.
Now I beg you, brothers, through the name of our Lord, Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfected together in the same mind and in the same judgment.
