70 Bible Verses about Forgiveness in the Family

70 Bible Verses about Forgiveness in the Family

In Mark's Gospel, it says, "If you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your sins."[Mark 11:26] Forgiveness is the first step to healing wounds and freeing ourselves from the bitterness that stagnates our lives.

God desires peace and harmony in every family's home, across the earth. He wants us to love each other selflessly, unconditionally, without reproach. Life throws curveballs, and disagreements and conflicts within families are bound to happen. It's just part of the deal. But what we can't allow is resentment to take root in our hearts, pushing us away from the people we love because of a little friction.

That's not God's way. He isn't pleased with those who refuse to reconcile. God is a God of families, and His will is for His beautiful design to prevail in all of us. So, let's always reconcile with one another, leaving no room for the devil in our souls.

Let's pray for God to make us forgiving people and to heal our hearts. Let's take that step toward reconciliation and unity today. Let's not be proud or arrogant, because even though God may seem distant, He is close to those who are truly humble.

For he is my brother, coworker and fellow soldier, and your messenger and minister to me in my need.Indeed, he greatly missed all of you and was distressed because you heard that he had been ill.In fact he became so ill that he nearly died. But God showed mercy to him – and not to him only, but also to me – so that I would not have grief on top of grief. Therefore I am all the more eager to send him, so that when you see him again you can rejoice and I can be free from anxiety. So welcome him in the Lord with great joy, and honor people like him,Instead of being motivated by selfish ambition or vanity, each of you should, in humility, be moved to treat one another as more important than yourself.since it was because of the work of Christ that he almost died. Prayer

Good and Faithful Father, Yours be the glory and honor! I come to You through my Lord Jesus Christ, asking You to establish Your kingdom over my family. Lord Jesus, heal the wounds in our hearts caused by quarrels and strife. Teach us to bear with one another in love and patience, that Your peace and unity may reign over us. Your word says, "Then Peter came to Jesus and asked, ‘Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?’ Jesus answered, ‘I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.’" Father, may we, as a family, practice forgiveness and reconciliation daily. May we be agents of change, making a difference wherever we go, building others up. May we be a family committed to Your word, serving and sharing that same love and forgiveness with our neighbors. In Jesus' name, Amen.
