But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you,
Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.Therefore “If your enemy is hungry, feed him; If he is thirsty, give him a drink; For in so doing you will heap coals of fire on his head.”Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.
If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen?And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up;does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;
not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.
Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.
If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat; And if he is thirsty, give him water to drink;For so you will heap coals of fire on his head, And the Lord will reward you.
So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath;My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials,for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.
“But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you,bless those who curse you, and pray for those who spitefully use you.
Whoever hates his brother is a murderer, and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”
He who covers a transgression seeks love, But he who repeats a matter separates friends.
See that no one renders evil for evil to anyone, but always pursue what is good both for yourselves and for all.
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.
Take heed to yourselves. If your brother sins against you, rebuke him; and if he repents, forgive him.Even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.“In that day, he who is on the housetop, and his goods are in the house, let him not come down to take them away. And likewise the one who is in the field, let him not turn back.Remember Lot’s wife.Whoever seeks to save his life will lose it, and whoever loses his life will preserve it.I tell you, in that night there will be two men in one bed: the one will be taken and the other will be left.Two women will be grinding together: the one will be taken and the other left.Two men will be in the field: the one will be taken and the other left.”And they answered and said to Him, “Where, Lord?” So He said to them, “Wherever the body is, there the eagles will be gathered together.”And if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times in a day returns to you, saying, ‘I repent,’ you shall forgive him.”
Now hope does not disappoint, because the love of God has been poured out in our hearts by the Holy Spirit who was given to us.
He who is slow to anger is better than the mighty, And he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.
But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, willing to yield, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality and without hypocrisy.Now the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.
does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, And his glory is to overlook a transgression.
A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
Then Peter came to Him and said, “Lord, how often shall my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? Up to seven times?”Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you, up to seven times, but up to seventy times seven.
I desire therefore that the men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting;
For You, Lord, are good, and ready to forgive, And abundant in mercy to all those who call upon You.
Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted.
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.finding out what is acceptable to the Lord.And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather expose them.For it is shameful even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret.But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light, for whatever makes manifest is light.Therefore He says: “Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light.”See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,redeeming the time, because the days are evil.Therefore do not be unwise, but understand what the will of the Lord is.And do not be drunk with wine, in which is dissipation; but be filled with the Spirit,speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord,And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Then Jesus said, “Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do.” And they divided His garments and cast lots.
For judgment is without mercy to the one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.
Therefore let us pursue the things which make for peace and the things by which one may edify another.
Now whom you forgive anything, I also forgive. For if indeed I have forgiven anything, I have forgiven that one for your sakes in the presence of Christ,lest Satan should take advantage of us; for we are not ignorant of his devices.
Trust in the Lord, and do good; Dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.The mouth of the righteous speaks wisdom, And his tongue talks of justice.The law of his God is in his heart; None of his steps shall slide.The wicked watches the righteous, And seeks to slay him.The Lord will not leave him in his hand, Nor condemn him when he is judged.Wait on the Lord, And keep His way, And He shall exalt you to inherit the land; When the wicked are cut off, you shall see it.I have seen the wicked in great power, And spreading himself like a native green tree.Yet he passed away, and behold, he was no more; Indeed I sought him, but he could not be found.Mark the blameless man, and observe the upright; For the future of that man is peace.But the transgressors shall be destroyed together; The future of the wicked shall be cut off.But the salvation of the righteous is from the Lord; He is their strength in the time of trouble.Delight yourself also in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, And lean not on your own understanding;In all your ways acknowledge Him, And He shall direct your paths.
Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the Lord:looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up cause trouble, and by this many become defiled;
Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
The merciful man does good for his own soul, But he who is cruel troubles his own flesh.
But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
He who is slow to wrath has great understanding, But he who is impulsive exalts folly.
with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love,But you have not so learned Christ,if indeed you have heard Him and have been taught by Him, as the truth is in Jesus:that you put off, concerning your former conduct, the old man which grows corrupt according to the deceitful lusts,and be renewed in the spirit of your mind,and that you put on the new man which was created according to God, in true righteousness and holiness.Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath,nor give place to the devil.Let him who stole steal no longer, but rather let him labor, working with his hands what is good, that he may have something to give him who has need.Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.
For “He who would love life And see good days, Let him refrain his tongue from evil, And his lips from speaking deceit.Let him turn away from evil and do good; Let him seek peace and pursue it.
For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this: “You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”But if you bite and devour one another, beware lest you be consumed by one another!
Let no corrupt word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers.
Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;
“Judge not, that you be not judged.Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent?If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets.“Enter by the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and broad is the way that leads to destruction, and there are many who go in by it.Because narrow is the gate and difficult is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.“Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves.You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles?Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit.A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit.Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back to you.
For this is the message that you heard from the beginning, that we should love one another,
Therefore you are inexcusable, O man, whoever you are who judge, for in whatever you judge another you condemn yourself; for you who judge practice the same things.
Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself.because for the work of Christ he came close to death, not regarding his life, to supply what was lacking in your service toward me.Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.
So he answered and said, “ ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,’ and ‘your neighbor as yourself.’ ”
There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.
Search me, O God, and know my heart; Try me, and know my anxieties;And see if there is any wicked way in me, And lead me in the way everlasting.
Owe no one anything except to love one another, for he who loves another has fulfilled the law.
Therefore, putting away lying, “Let each one of you speak truth with his neighbor,” for we are members of one another.
Keep your tongue from evil, And your lips from speaking deceit.Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously;
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;not lagging in diligence, fervent in spirit, serving the Lord;rejoicing in hope, patient in tribulation, continuing steadfastly in prayer;distributing to the needs of the saints, given to hospitality.Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse.Rejoice with those who rejoice, and weep with those who weep.Be of the same mind toward one another. Do not set your mind on high things, but associate with the humble. Do not be wise in your own opinion.Repay no one evil for evil. Have regard for good things in the sight of all men.If it is possible, as much as depends on you, live peaceably with all men.Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, “Vengeance is Mine, I will repay,” says the Lord.And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.
He who has knowledge spares his words, And a man of understanding is of a calm spirit.Even a fool is counted wise when he holds his peace; When he shuts his lips, he is considered perceptive.
Finally, brethren, farewell. Become complete. Be of good comfort, be of one mind, live in peace; and the God of love and peace will be with you.
Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world.
See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise,redeeming the time, because the days are evil.
Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass.He shall bring forth your righteousness as the light, And your justice as the noonday.
So when they continued asking Him, He raised Himself up and said to them, “He who is without sin among you, let him throw a stone at her first.”
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God;and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,
that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have the same care for one another.And if one member suffers, all the members suffer with it; or if one member is honored, all the members rejoice with it.
And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works,not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching.
For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
“Moreover if your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault between you and him alone. If he hears you, you have gained your brother.
And above all things have fervent love for one another, for “love will cover a multitude of sins.”Be hospitable to one another without grumbling.
A brother offended is harder to win than a strong city, And contentions are like the bars of a castle.
Trust in Him at all times, you people; Pour out your heart before Him; God is a refuge for us. Selah
You will keep him in perfect peace, Whose mind is stayed on You, Because he trusts in You.
By this we know love, because He laid down His life for us. And we also ought to lay down our lives for the brethren.
We then who are strong ought to bear with the scruples of the weak, and not to please ourselves.
who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.
Cast your burden on the Lord, And He shall sustain you; He shall never permit the righteous to be moved.
Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”So we may boldly say: “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”
Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much.
Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’This is the first and great commandment.And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’
Now we exhort you, brethren, warn those who are unruly, comfort the fainthearted, uphold the weak, be patient with all.
Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus,that you may with one mind and one mouth glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation,
And He said to them, “Take heed and beware of covetousness, for one’s life does not consist in the abundance of the things he possesses.”
Do all things without complaining and disputing,that you may become blameless and harmless, children of God without fault in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, among whom you shine as lights in the world,
For where two or three are gathered together in My name, I am there in the midst of them.”
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; For You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
Let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how you ought to answer each one.
But you, O man of God, flee these things and pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, gentleness.
If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world.”
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.
