But I say vnto you, Loue your enemies, blesse them that curse you, doe good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully vse you, and persecute you:
Dearely beloued, auenge not your selues, but rather giue place vnto wrath: for it is written, Uengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemie hunger, feed him: if he thirst, giue him drink. For in so doing thou shalt heape coales of fire on his head.Be not ouercome of euill, but ouercome euill with good.
Let all bitternes, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and euill speaking, be put away from you, with all malice,And bee ye kinde one to another. tender hearted, forgiuing one another, euen as God for Christs sake hath forgiuen you.
Forbearing one another, and forgiuing one another, if any man haue a quarrell against any: euen as Christ forgaue you, so also doe yee.
If a man say, I loue God, and hateth his brother, he is a lyar. For hee that loueth not his brother whom hee hath seene, how can he loue God whom he hath not seene? And this commandement haue we from him, that he who loueth God, loue his brother also.
Charitie suffereth long, and is kinde: charitie enuieth not: charitie vaunteth not it selfe, is not puffed vp,Doeth not behaue it selfe vnseemly, seeketh not her owne, is not easily prouoked, thinketh no euill,
Not rendring euill for euill, or railing for railing: but contrarywise blessing, knowing that yee are thereunto called, that ye should inherite a blessing.
For, if yee forgiue men their trespasses, your heauenly father will also forgiue you. But, if yee forgiue not men their trespasses, neither will your father forgiue your trespasses.
Recompence to no man euill for euill. Prouide things honest in the sight of all men.If it be possible, as much as lyeth in you, liue peaceably with all men.
But the fruit of the spirit is loue, ioy, peace, long suffering, gentlenesse, goodnesse, faith,Meekenesse, temperance: against such there is no law.
If thine enemie be hungry, giue him bread to eate: and if hee be thirstie, giue him water to drinke. For thou shalt heape coales of fire vpon his head, and the Lord shall reward thee.
Wherefore my beloued brethren, let euery man bee swift to heare, slow to speake, slow to wrath. For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousnesse of God.
But I say vnto you which heare, Loue your enemies, doe good to them which hate you,Blesse them that curse you, & pray for them which despitefully vse you.
Whosoeuer hateth his brother, is a murtherer, and yee knowe that no murtherer hath eternall life abiding in him.
And aboue all things haue feruent charitie among your selues: for charity shall couer the multitude of sinnes.
He that couereth a transgression, seeketh loue; but he that repeateth a matter, separateth very friends.
See that none render euill for euill vnto any man: but euer follow that which is good, both among your selues and to all men.
Nay in all these things wee are more then conquerours, through him that loued vs.For I am perswaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shalbe able to separate vs from the loue of God, which is in Christ Iesus our Lord.
Finally, brethren, whatsoeuer things are true, whatsoeuer things are honest, whatsoeuer things are iust, whatsoeuer things are pure, whatsoeuer things are louely, whatsoeuer things are of good report: if there bee any vertue, and if there bee any praise, thinke on these things:
Therefore all things whatsoeuer ye would that men should doe to you, doe ye euen so to them: for this is the Law and the Prophets.
Beloued, let vs loue one another; for loue is of God: and euery one that loueth, is borne of God and knoweth God.Hee that loueth not, knoweth not God: for God is loue.
Take heed to your selues: If thy brother trespasse against thee, rebuke him, and if he repent, forgiue him.And if hee trespasse against thee seuen times in a day, and seuen times in a day turne againe to thee, saying, I repent, thou shalt forgiue him.
And hope maketh not ashamed, because the loue of God is shed abroad in our hearts, by the holy Ghost, which is giuen vnto vs.
He that is slow to anger, is better then the mighty: and he that ruleth his spirit, then he that taketh a citie.
But the wisedome that is from aboue, is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easie to be intreated, full of mercy, and good fruits, without partialitie, and without hypocrisie. And the fruit of righteousnesse is sowen in peace, of them that make peace.
Reioyceth not in iniquitie, but reioyceth in the trueth:Beareth all things, beleeueth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
The discretion of a man deferreth his anger: and it is his glory to passe ouer a transgression.
A new commandement I giue vnto you, That yee loue one another, as I haue loued you, that yee also loue one another.By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if yee haue loue one to another.
Then came Peter to him, and said, Lord, how oft shall my brother sinne against mee, and I forgiue him? till seuen times?Iesus saith vnto him, I say not vnto thee, Untill seuen times: but, Untill seuentie times seuen.
I will therefore that men pray euery where, lifting vp holy handes without wrath, and doubting.
For thou Lord art good, and ready to forgiue: and plenteous in mercie vnto all them that call vpon thee.
Brethren, if a man bee ouertaken in a fault: yee which are spirituall, restore such a one in the spirit of meeknesse, considering thy selfe least thou also be tempted.
Be ye therefore followers of God, as deare children.And walke in loue, as Christ also hath loued vs, and hath giuen himselfe for vs, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling sauour;
Then said Iesus, Father, forgiue them, for they know not what they doe: And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
The Lord is mercifull and gracious: slow to anger, and plenteous in mercy.Hee will not alwayes chide: neither will he keepe his anger for euer.Hee hath not dealt with vs after our sinnes: nor rewarded vs according to our iniquities.
For he shall haue iudgement without mercie, that hath shewed no mercy, & mercie reioyceth against iudgement.
Let vs therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edifie an other.
To whom yee forgiue any thing, I forgiue also: for if I forgaue any thing, to whom I forgaue it, for your sakes forgaue I it, in the person of Christ,Lest Satan should get an aduantage of vs: for wee are not ignorant of his deuices.
Trust in the Lord, and do good, so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verely thou shalt be fed.Delight thy selfe also in the Lord; and he shall giue thee the desires of thine heart.
Peace I leaue with you, my peace I giue vnto you, not as the world giueth, giue I vnto you: let not your heart bee troubled, neither let it bee afraid.
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and leaue not vnto thine owne vnderstanding. In all thy wayes acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy pathes.
Followe peace with all men, and holinesse, without which no man shall see the Lord:Looking diligently, lest any man faile of the grace of God, lest any roote of bitternesse springing vp, trouble you, and thereby many be defiled:
Bee kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly loue, in honour preferring one another.
He that saith he is in the light, and hateth his brother, is in darkenesse euen vntill now.Hee that loueth his brother, abideth in the light, and there is none occasion of stumbling in him.But he that hateth his brother, is in darknesse, and walketh in darknesse, and knoweth not whither hee goeth, because that darknesse hath blinded his eyes.
And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also yee are called in one body: and be yee thankefull.
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and enuies, and euill speakings,
The mercifull man doeth good to his owne soule: but he that is cruell, troubleth his owne flesh.
But God commendeth his loue towards vs, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for vs.
Hee that is slow to wrath, is of great vnderstanding: but hee that is hasty of spirit, exalteth folly.
With all lowlinesse and meekenesse, with long suffering, forbearing one another in loue.Endeuouring to keepe the vnitie of the Spirit in the bond of peace.
And now abideth faith, hope, charitie, these three, but the greatest of these is charitie.
Nowe the God of hope fill you with all ioy and peace in beleeuing, that yee may abound in hope through the power of the holy Ghost.
But as touching brotherly loue, ye need not that I write vnto you: for yee your selues are taught of God to loue one an other. And in deed ye doe it towards all the brethren, which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more:
The Lord is gracious and full of compassion: slow to anger, and of great mercy. The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are ouer all his workes.
For hee that will loue life, and see good dayes, let him refraine his tongue from euil, and his lips that they speake no guile:Let him eschew euil and do good, let him seeke peace and ensue it.
Let loue bee without dissimulation: abhorre that which is euill, cleaue to that which is good.
For all the Law is fulfilled in one word, euen in this: Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe. But if yee bite and deuoure one another, take heed ye be not consumed one of another.
Let no corrupt communication proceede out of your mouth, but that which is good to the vse of edifying, that it may minister grace vnto the hearers.
Put on therefore (as the elect of God, holy and beloued) bowels of mercies, kindnesse, humblenesse of minde, meekenesse, long suffering,
Iudge not, that ye be not iudged. For with what iudgment ye iudge, yee shall be iudged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you againe.
For this is the message that yee heard from the beginning, that wee should loue one another.
Therefore, thou art inexcusable, O man, whosoeuer thou art that iudgest: for wherein thou iudgest another, thou condemnest thy selfe, for thou that iudgest doest the same things.
Let nothing bee done through strife, or vaine glory, but in lowlinesse of minde let each esteeme other better then themselues.Looke not euery man on his owne things, but euery man also on the things of others.
And he answering, said, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy strength, and with all thy minde, and thy neighbour as thy selfe.
There is no feare in loue, but perfect loue casteth out feare: because feare hath torment: hee that feareth, is not made perfect in loue.
Search me, O God, and knowe my heart: trie mee, and knowe my thoughts:And see if there bee any wicked way in me: and leade me in the way euerlasting.
Owe no man any thing, but to loue one another: for hee that loueth another hath fulfilled the Law.
Wherefore putting away lying, speake euery man truth with his neighbour: for we are members one of another.
Keepe thy tongue from euill, and thy lippes from speaking guile.Depart from euill, and doe good: seeke peace and pursue it.
Who when hee was reuiled, reuiled not againe; when hee suffered, hee threatned not, but committed himselfe to him that iudgeth righteously.
I beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that yee present your bodies a liuing sacrifice, holy, acceptable vnto God, which is your reasonable seruice. And bee not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renuing of your minde, that ye may proue what is that good, that acceptable and perfect will of God.
Wherefore, comfort your selues together, and edifie one another, euen as also ye doe.
If any of you lacke wisedome, let him aske of God, that giueth to all men liberally, and vpbraideth not: and it shalbe giuen him.
He that hath knowledge, spareth his words: and a man of vnderstanding is of an excellent spirit.Euen a foole, when he holdeth his peace, is counted wise: and he that shutteth his lips, is esteemed a man of vnderstanding.
Finally, brethren, farewell: Bee perfect, bee of good comfort, bee of one minde, liue in peace, and the God of loue and peace shalbe with you.
Beloued, beleeue not euery spirit, but trie the spirits, whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world.
See then that yee walke circumspectly, not as fooles, but as wise,Redeming the time, because the dayes are euill.
Commit thy way vnto the Lord: trust also in him, and he shall bring it to passe. And he shall bring forth thy righteousnes as the light, and thy iudgement as the noone day.
So when they continued asking him, hee lift vp himselfe, and saide vnto them, Hee that is without sinne among you, let him first cast a stone at her.
The North winde driueth away raine: so doeth an angrie countenance a backbiting tongue.
Bee carefull for nothing: but in euery thing by prayer and supplication with thankesgiuing, let your request be made knowen vnto God.And the peace of God which passeth all vnderstanding, shall keepe your hearts & minds through Christ Iesus.
But the fruit of the spirit is loue, ioy, peace, long suffering, gentlenesse, goodnesse, faith,
That there should be no schisme in the body: but that the members should haue the same care one for another. And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it: or one member be honoured, all the members reioyce with it.
And let vs consider one another to prouoke vnto loue, and to good workes:Not forsaking the assembling of our selues together, as the manner of some is: but exhorting one another, and so much the more, as ye see the day approching.
For wee wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darknes of this world, against spirituall wickednes in high places.
Moreouer, if thy brother shall trespasse against thee, goe and tell him his fault betweene thee and him alone: if he shall heare thee, thou hast gained thy brother.
[A song of degrees of Dauid.] Behold how good and how pleasant it is: for brethren to dwell together in vnitie.
And aboue all things haue feruent charitie among your selues: for charity shall couer the multitude of sinnes.Use hospitalitie one to another without grudging.
A brother offended is harder to be wonne then a strong citie: and their contentions are like the barres of a castle.
Trust in him at all times; ye people, powre out your heart before him: God is a refuge for vs. Selah.
Thou wilt keepe him in perfect peace, whose minde is stayed on thee; because he trusteth in thee.
Hereby perceiue wee the loue of God, because he layd downe his life for vs, and wee ought to lay downe our liues for the brethren.
Wee then that are strong, ought to beare the infirmities of the weake, and not to please our selues.
Who comforteth vs in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort, wherewith we our selues are comforted of God.
And bee ye kinde one to another. tender hearted, forgiuing one another, euen as God for Christs sake hath forgiuen you.
Cast thy burden vpon the Lord, and he shall sustaine thee: hee shall neuer suffer the righteous to bee moued.
Let your conuersation bee without couetousnesse: and be content with such things as yee haue. For hee hath said, I will neuer leaue thee, nor forsake thee.So that wee may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not feare what man shall doe vnto me.
Confesse your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that yee may bee healed: the effectuall feruent prayer of a righteous man auaileth much.
Iesus sayd vnto him, Thou shalt loue the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soule, and with all thy minde. This is the first and great Commandement. And the second is like vnto it, Thou shalt loue thy neighbour as thy selfe.
Now we exhort you, brethren, warne them that are vnruly, comfort the feeble minded, support the weake, be patient toward all men.
Deceit is in the heart of them that imagine euill: but to the counsellours of peace, is ioy.
Now the God of patience and consolation graunt you to be like minded one towards another, according to Christ Iesus:That ye may with one mind and one mouth glorifie God, euen the Father of our Lord Iesus Christ.
But seeke ye first the kingdome of God, and his righteousnesse, and all these things shalbe added vnto you.
For God so loued ye world, that he gaue his only begotten Sonne: that whosoeuer beleeueth in him, should not perish, but haue euerlasting life.
For hee is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken downe the middle wall of partition betweene vs:
And he said vnto them, Take heed and beware of couetousnes: for a mans life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.
Doe all things without murmurings, and disputings:That yee may bee blamelesse and harmelesse, the sonnes of God, without rebuke, in the middes of a crooked and peruerse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world:
Therewith blesse wee God, euen the Father: and therewith curse wee men, which are made after the similitude of God.Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing: my brethren, these things ought not so to be.
For where two or three are gathered together in my Name, there am I in the midst of them.
Yea though I walke through the valley of the shadowe of death, I will feare no euill: for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staffe, they comfort me.
A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but peruersnesse therein is a breach in the spirit.
Let your speech bee alway with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how yee ought to answere euery man.
But thou, O man of God, flie these things; and follow after righteousnesse, godlinesse, faith, loue, patience, meekenesse.
If we confesse our sinnes, hee is faithfull, & iust to forgiue vs our sinnes, and to cleanse vs from all vnrighteousnesse.
Watch and pray, that yee enter not into temptation: The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weake.
As we haue therefore opportunitie, let vs doe good vnto all men, especially vnto them who are of the household of faith.
And he said vnto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weaknes. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest vpon me.Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christes sake: for when I am weake, then am I strong.
These things I haue spoken vnto you, that in me ye might haue peace, in the world ye shall haue tribulation: but be of good cheare, I haue ouercome the world.
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good workes, and glorifie your father which is in heauen.
